It was pretty much decent than Masked Rider.

From what I've been told that Ishimori Productions and Toei still don't allow Saban to adapt Kamen Rider. I doubt Saban will ever make another Kamen Rider show since I don't see it working. Most people will look at it for being another Power Rangers type of show. A original American Kamen Rider TV show is the only way that I think a American KR show could work.

Different series, different license. Kamen Rider is co-license with Toei and Ishimori Productions. Dragon Knight was not made by Saban which is why it got made.

Why? Disney made some of the best PR seasons in my opinion.

In fairness, some of my favourites are from the Disney Era. Jungle Fury, RPM, SPD, all pretty good shows made by Disney.

Personally when it comes to quality I'd say Disney's run has the better track record.

The feeling I'm getting from, idk, Saban himself or the company???? Is that they care more about getting money out of MMPR and how to make the current seasons similar to MMPR. Of course they care about the money duh but is not that they don't care about the show itself, is just they care more about MMPR. I see it like this, they have 20+ kids but MMPR is the fave son and they want their new babies to be like their older brother. And like I read in another thread, that eventually can damage the franchise. Yeah, MMPR is the show that most ppl remember and blah blah blah but it wouldn't hurt the new seasons to get away from that MMPR format/humor/tone/etc and care more about the storytelling. Nothing last forever and eventually MMPR will stop to make the boom it makes now, it already happened back then.

Thing is - MMPR sells. It's the big nostalgia boom right now for Power Rangers and they're going to ride that like there's no tomorrow. With the movie coming out and the toys hitting the shelves, you better believe that it is only going to continue.

It's about time for the Legacy line to stop and start back over with a new MMPR Megazord.

I could see them doing that, but I hope they don't. Though honestly, what new spin could they put onto a Legacy MMPR Megazord that they haven't done already?

You don't seem to grasp the part where Haim Saban isn't actively making all the decisions (or any at all really) when it comes to writing the show.

Not only does he write the whole show, in code on the back of restaurant napkins, I hear that he actually puts on all the suits and does the fighting. All of it. At the same time. What a guy!

MMPR had a good storytelling, byt the current seasons are just knock-offs.

I think MMPR is not a good show at all outside of nostalgia. I think the show has aged terribly in my opinion. The characters are not that great in my opinion and I don't think the villains are very good neither. Rita is just evil for the shake of being evil and I felt like Lord Zedd didn't do much before Rita came back. The Green Ranger saga was probably the best part of season 1, but I felt like it was too long. Season 3 in my opinion felt better than the first two seasons, but still far from being great.

The other seasons after MMPR are better like Zeo, In Space, Time Force, SPD, RPM and even Dino Charge in my opinion. Power Rangers can have a good season if good writers, directors and producers are making the show.

Evil for the sake of evil isn't necessarily a bad thing, not even villain needs to have some rich detailed backstory to justify their actions.

I think MMPR is fun. It isn't the pinnacle of storytelling no, but I have fun with it and to me that's the most important thing. Seasons 2 and 3 are much better than the first though, not being as constrained by Sentai footage and all.

But yeah, there are PLENTY of shows beyond MMPR that had good (and better story telling). Some Saban, some Disney, none Neo Saban :lol

While I agree that the show got its act together after "Passing the Torch", I wonder if it's faults during the first half could only be attributed to the old cast of rangers.

Fatigue. They really ran out of stuff for them to do.
And in a franchise where basically every episode is "Gang hangs out at school, ineffective bullies fart around, fight bad guy," that's saying something...

I think for themes Saban's at the mercy of Toei and what it decides to do. If they ever do something off the wall like all bug zords and Saban brings that over that might be a nice breath of fresh air.
