I have a friend who works in video game development and I am seriously re-evaluating what her job consists of now.
|
Wow I am a horrible person because I partially want Kiriya to die so I can dine on everyone's misery, yum. Plus the fact that his nephew watches the show only makes me want it more for the messed up Christmas gift that will be. "Hey kid, Merry Christmas! Here have your uncle's corpse as a Christmas gift."

Fantastic episode. The series, only 11 episodes in, already has a Gaim like feel to it in terms of dramatic story-telling and having each episode have some sort of momentum towards an over-arching plot.
Ghost did this in an entire series. Ex-Aid did it in 11. |

Since Kuroto Dan wearing Bugster Belt and Gashacon Bugvisor (when he become Genm Zombie Gamer Level X), I think Dan will become Bugster too in the future......
Also, I hope Pallad will show his Bugster form. |

everything below is just my speculation...may contain spoiler for other series Possible Dan may know of Emu's condition with how he says he wants to see if Emu will either stay strong or break. All this is to develop Emu's other personality enabling Mighty Brothers XX and then revealed its an evolving Bugster. The wiki updated with Parad being Paradox...lol. If this is true, why do I get a Necrom vibe from this guy?! Parad will join Emu's gang and help Emu understand his other personality leading to the final form. Lazer will probably be out of action till Emu is about to unlock his final form and appears in level 50. No way Kiriya is going to die! If he is going to, not so early! He is a main rider who receives upgrades the same time as the others...the riders before him who died early never got this treatment. We are getting a mix of Kabuto if they are going to fight the Ministry, Wizard because somehow the plot is reminding me of Wiseman's plotting and Ghost because of understanding others. |

Not quite right, since we haven't gotten the 3rd toy catalog in February. So, we don't know whether there will be an upgrade for Lazer. But, there's a possibility there. Usually in the 3rd quarter, we will have the Main Rider's Final Form and another Rider or another upgrade for a Rider. Since, Genm has Zombie Gamer currently, I doubt that they will give anymore upgrade to him. Same with Paradox, Brave and Snipe. That means........
Anyway, I recently think that Kiriya might not die or quite dead yet. At least, they might make him fall to coma later. Well, at least, this route is much better rather than outright killing him, especially for the littering Kiriya's fans here. |
Says, It was rumored that there will be a movie taisen with the Taros in it, right? If it is indeed true, I hope they will atleast revive him (provided that he died) by time alteration. I really want to see the Taros possessing the doctors.
Ura-Kiriya will be a perfect liar. |

As far as the episode goes, It was fine. Genm finally reveals himself to the others and it will be interesting to see how this changes up the character dynamics. Other than that though, there really wasn't much else to this episode. I mean we're still continuing how Emu develops as a doctor but honestly those have the least interesting parts of Ex-Aid in my opinion. We're still being given hints over why Emu was given the operation to use the Gamer Driver(a plot point that I believe should have been introduce a lot earlier than it did) and we finally have two of our four main riders actually working together(lets see how that develops next episode) Otherwise though the episode was okay.
Since we've just passed the first 10 or so episodes of Ex-Aid, I like to take the time to write about what I think of the show as of right now. Ex-Aid so far I find to be...........overwhelmingly okay. Not bad by any means but every time I finish an episode I always go "That was alright". I haven't had any feelings of dropping the show but I also don't have any excitement of wanting to watch the next episode. Every thing that the show is doing right now, even the parts that are good, just feel like stuff that I have seen before or done better. That being said though I do have some problems. The pacing just kinda feels off which might be due to how the show doesn't really seem to know how to balance the multi rider aspect with the traditional MoTW formula. It's like one moment we see Emu interacting with our patient of the week, next moment we see the riders in Kuroto's office, next moment the riders are fighting a monster or each other, next moment we cut back to Emu with the patient and so on and so forth. Some episodes feel like they are doing way too much which makes some elements of the show most specifically the doctor aspect less developed and consequentially less interesting. And then we have Emu himself. Emu..........really feels like he's just there most of the time. I mean yeah he's the main character, yeah he's the one that sort of gets all the other riders to start working together, yeah he's the one that's going to get the most power-ups. Otherwise though I find that he doesn't add much to the overall character dynamic of the series. Outside of Kiriya from the most recent episodes, the other characters don't really seem to change much or get anything added to their personality as a result of interacting with Emu. We also don't really see much of his gamer personality outside of battle and most of the time the show is emphasizing his naivete which honestly at points get infuriating(specifically episode 5). So yeah that's what think about the show so far. Maybe I'm just burnt out from Kamen Rider but there are elements of the show I do like specifically the action scenes due to how creative they can get with game theme powers. Hopefully the show get's better from here on out. |
Loved this episode, as I did all the others. Couple things to note:
- When I first saw Dan, he gave me Takatora vibes. Morally questionable head guy in charge with a Rider suit eerily similar to the lead. But no, no this guy is nothing like Takatora. This guy is a total psychopath. He's like Asakura Takeshi wearing Takatora's persona and he's even creepier now that he may or may not be an actual zombie now. - The group trusts Kiriya again! Unfortunately, that probably means he's going to die soon. - I can't remember: is this the first time we've seen a child almost get rider kicked? lol - The bro pound between Kiriya and Emu before they kicked Genm was pretty cute. - Zombie Genm looks AWESOME! I definitely need a Figuart of that - Ditto on the tone shift in the preview. "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" followed by dramatic (possible) character death. Yay! |
The preview is literally "MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
you don't get presents - here - have one of the best characters dying" I am loving ex-aid, the best Kamen riders are the ones with dark plots and this show looks like it will be gaim level dark. |
