And seeking of honesty I have to admit the movie Megazord would make a decent Psycho or evil Megazord. Still not worth 120$ |
Especially considering what else you could be getting in the combining mecha vein of toys for about the same price right now.
Seriously, put this up right next to the new Voltron. In just about every regard the latter is superior, the only loss is in the height department, if you care about such things. |

This Megazord's only selling point is its size, and even then, that's a cheap gimmick. |
I bought a set.
With Amazon's Lightning Deal, I got the T-Rex for $23.99 shipped. Got the other 4 @ $19.99 a piece. I don't feel ripped off in the slightest. (BTW, the 4 come in a case assortment of 1 per.) I can't explain how insanely large these Zords are, in person. Wow factor hits, for sure. Think... 75% of the White Tigerzord and you get a rough idea how big these are. Transformation is indeed simplictic. Kind of fun, though. The oddest thing I noticed is that the T-Rex has Legacy level plastic in terms of quality and thickness, while the other 4 are ridiculously thin in spots. You can flick it and it reverberates throughout the Zord. T-Rex doesn't do that. I'd say the weakest of them all is Trini's Sabertooth Battlezord. (Actual name). Paint apps are good, gimmicks as cheesy as they are, do work. Billy's Zord fires missiles from it's tail (same exact missile and mold as the T-Rex's.), Zach's catapults a web, Kimberly's traps a putty and Trini's has a "firing" backpack. Kids will definitely like this, fans will be divided, but I personally love it. |

For example, MMPR Megazord (the Legacy mold). It's not perfect, but most of the Zordbuilder changes are either hidden and never really used (the Mastodon) or the the T-Rex knees in which the pegs are hidden in both tank and Megazord battle modes. I will admit it's a bit odd to have pegs sticking out of his knees at all times, but it's one of the least offensive uses of the system. I do think they could've found a way to incorporate Zordbuilder into this Megazord, as well as keeping it's current system, but I'm more than happy with it as is. I love the movie Megazord and I like the new direction they've gone with it. I think they did it on purpose, too. Not just the size change, but to help differentiate between Megazords and lines as well. |
