To sum it up

Riku has wanted to be a hero since he was a kid, inspired by an old TV show he and his best friend, Moa, used to watch. His home is destroyed by Skull Gomora and he ends up spending the night in an observatory basement, where he finds a secret base and is given the ability to transform. When he transforms, he starts to realize he's the son of Belial.

Riku's actor is singing the opening and Voyager are doing the ending. Kenji Kawai (Nexus, Ghost in the Shell) is doing the music for the series. So at the very least, it'll have a fantastic soundtrack.

Sakamoto is directing? Bracing myself for girl legs...

Oh boy, let me tell you, there are lots of girl legs already, and the series isn't even out yet!

Pega will be voiced by Megumi Han aka Izayoi Kyuemon aka Midoninger. I guess she will go with her usual cute voice with this character.

As for Sakamoto and his quest to show more girl legs in his shows... Raiha seems to be the one in charge of that. Already she has a sword and looks like she can kick alien butt when needed for dramatic effect.

I love the idea that Zero's new host Reito is a everyday schmoe salaryman with a wife and kid. He looks serious in the promo pics but I hope we see him mine some comedy gold here and there throughout the show.

I had a feeling they'd do something like that since Ultra Fight Orb involved Zero and Belial. That's neat.

First Ishiguro as Orb and now Hamada as Geed. I guess that is Tsuburaya's strategy casting some well-known actors instead of rookies for their lead Ultras.

It helps with the acting. Ishiguro's acting is very fresh since he's experienced, especially compared to a lot of Toku newcomers these days.

Also, is Belial the antagonist and is the guy at 2:12 his human form?

They say that Belial has gone missing after causing a "crisis impact"(0:17~0:25). As for the antagonist guy he is Kei Fukuide, a Sci-fi novelist and antagonist who uses the kaiju capsules to summon fused kaijus. They do not say he is Belial's human form, though I will probably wait until they say he is. For now I say there is a 49% chance he is Papa Belial.

Anyone have any idea what he's saying during the transformation sequence? Specifically when he's activating the capsules.

I assumed he blew up an alien planet but that's a lot more interesting.

It would make sense, when the monsters fuse Belial is there and it looks like they'll gain some characteristics of Belial so I would assume this Fukuide guy has at least some connection to him.

"Yuugo! I go! Here we go! Kimeru ze! Kakugo!" to translate word for word:
"Fusion! I go! Here we go! Let's decide! Resolution!"

No problemo. I look forward to it as well. Personally I am interested to see how Riku's actor Hamada carries the show because he has been in tokusatsu since he was a kid a number of times.

That post apocalyptic looking scene isn't from Earth - it's from before the series. Belial tried to destroy the universe and the event was called the Crisis Impact. After that event, Belial disappeared.

I'm not entirely sure Kei will be Belial and that's kinda cool. Neither outcome seems more likely than the other to me and I really like that idea. (though personally I think if Belial gets a human form, it'll be an older, more established actor)

Kei could also be Riku's (half?) brother. What makes me think that? When Riku transforms and activates Belial's capsule he says "I go", meanwhile when Kei fuses monsters he seems to summon Belial's power too. So if Riku can use Belial's power and refer to it has his own Kei might do the same.

They could establish a sibling rivalry here as Riku tries to use his power for good while Kei wants to become Belial's successor.

Thanks for clearing that up. While I don't discount the idea that Kei is Belial's human form, I agree that he would be an odd choice for reasons that you already mentioned. If I had to take a guess, I would say that Kei, an artist who writes scifi, was inspired by Belial's power and found the destruction he caused absolutely beautiful. Now he desires to recreate what he sees as absolute perfection. I highly doubt that's the case but I wanted to get in on the fun of speculating so...

They should just get Miyasako the voice actor. He is a comedian who acts as well.

I didn't watch the whole special, I just skipped around to interesting looking bits. There's some really nice looking action scenes and oh boy is that Solid Burning form cool. I can't wait for next week!

But yeah, I'm seeing some really well-done action and gorgeous shots in there as well. Stuff like the shot of Geed jumping over the city from underneath is really creative and refreshing to see.

We're getting closer and closer to the release date of this show but still no word from Crunchyroll about simulcasting it. How long did it take for them to announce X and Orb?
