As an American who doesn't like ToQger, I can easily say that it is not because of the trains. I just never cared for the protagonists for some reason. The fact that the mecha are made from trains is cool but they go way too simple with it. Though my favorites from it are the Diesel-Oh, Shadowline mecha and Safari Gaoh. ToQ-Oh is just trains side by side, while I get why it still doesn't make for a very appealing especially with the trains being brightly colored. Build Dai-Oh looks nice in robot mode but the fact it's train form is just the robot mode doing a split and looking to the right makes it lose points for me. The last mech while I can't remember the name of has a good idea that I like but otherwise is not impressive. The combinations in the show are not very good either. ToQ Rainbow is just a robot with trains taped to it. I like train bots but after the Brave series, you just go simple for me. But the one thing I can easily defend is the Shadow Line. I LOVE THEIR DESIGNS! Fuck putties! The Crows are the number one Super Sentai foot soldiers. Nothing and I repeat noting can change my mind. So yeah ToQger mecha major flaw is that they are too simple.

But why between Hurricanger and Abaranger and not Gaoranger/Hurricanger, or Abaranger/Dekaranger?

I was actually surprised ToQ wasn't liked. I think the story was unique and very good. The rangers were lovable. Red didn't take up every episode. The villains were fab. I adore the color swap gimmick.

And I knew the mecha and suits were simplistic, but I felt it was because the rangers were really kids and that's why the designs weren't that detailed.

And I cried when the season ended. lol

Maybe its because of the season's slow start? I remember the show taking a little while to, pun intended, build up steam.

I think ToQ mechas could have been almost like mightgaine.

Goseiger is a horrible piece of shit.

The characters are paper thin and undeveloped, the storylines are boring and the overall execution seems lazy.

And the mechas are confusing and boring.

ToQger is the last good Sentai and the new ones aren't worth watching anymore.

It is. People weren't huge fans of it when it aired and although it's garnered more fans over the years, it's...still not the most popular Sentai out there. Routinely gets made fun of for its cast.

I would agree it was the last good one before Kyuranger. Ninninger had a lot of interesting ideas but the execution on them wasn't fantastic. It was a fun garbage fire at times, but still a garbage fire. Zyuohger was just plain boring.

It might be better if you marathon it instead of catching it week by week with higher expectations only to end with a major letdown each time. You can skip a few episodes too. The only decent villain and true villain only get a few episodes of screen time with no prior build up.

Even though Goseiger's characters weren't all that strong, it's still a good wholesome show.

I miss the 80's and 90's sentais.

I don't think that's all that controversial. I think quite a few people prefer old-school Sentai.

While I don't think I care much for most of the characters in Goseiger, Alata was an amazing red ranger, one that I think I would go as far as to say was perfect. Not perfect in the sense that he was the best character ever, though that's not to say that he isn't, but perfect in that was he the perfect embodiment of his element of wind. Calm, peaceful, and sweet one moment, fierce and dangerous the next. The fact that his actor can play both roles so seamlessly is matched only by how perfect the suit actor also was at portraying him.

Zyuohger has been the best series post Gekiranger.

I'd say that Gokaiger, Shinkenger, and to some degree, ToQger, are generally seen as pretty good. Most people seem to think that Zyuohger, while not doing anything particularly wrong, just wasn't very interesting.

I just don't see anything in Shinken and ToQ, while Gokaiger is just so uninteresting because the characters are so lifeless.
Zyuohger was honestly the only show after Gekiranger that actually managed to be entertaining. It's plot was weak, but I still found myself enjoying it far more than most other series.

Gokaiger's characters were lifeless? I've heard a few difference criticisms about Gokaiger but that is without a doubt the first time I've heard that one. Care to go into detail as to why you think that is?

The characters had interesting traits, but it never really led to much of interest.
My problem was that, on rewatch, they just felt repetitive. Marvelous's smug ass is charming, don't get me wrong, but it's spread too thin.

Thinking back to the team, I can definitely see where you're coming from. A few members of the team have personalities that I would probably sooner associate with side or one off characters rather then a Sentai team member.

I would have agreed a couple of years ago, but it seems like since Ninninger, they've been using CGI more sparingly. But some shows I just can't handle the CGI, there's so much.

Goggle V was popular because of Black's actor Junichi Haruta and Pink's actress Megumi Ookawa.

I wish they use a simple gimmick like Ohranger robo helmets.
