Hear hear.
I wasn't too upset with the 6.5 scale. Yeah they're bigger than my legends which is unfortunate but I liked the figures on their own and that was enough. It was impossible to find the first wave. But I was way happier with them than the 5 inch. They just fit my tastes more. What killed my enthusiasm first was the lack of accessories. I don't need an unmasked head, but they need their weapons and I've been fervently buying the metallic wave. What killed it second was Bandais poor distribution and pack numbers. The third strike is this paint. I want Thunder ninjas, I want a titanium ranger, I want the girl figures. But I want them complete with the weapons. Get rid of the dumb baz and we'll talk but I've been burned on the weapons already. Legacy Zords, highly articulated figures, and maybe morphers. I'll buy them all, but don't sell me hot garbage when I look at your competitors and know better. It's why I can't give Mattel my money. |
How much longer till the first Super Ninja Steel toys pop up?

I'm just in it for the Megazords, really. I've learned to buy BoJ for the mainline, though. The whole argument that parents won't spend more than $35 for a Megazord is BS. Hasbro keeps churning out Leader Class Transformers that sell between $40-50 and folks buy those. There's simply no reason not to release a high-quality $50 Megazord these days.

I remember Brawl (the tank) for like a year and a half was everywhere on clearance. The Deluxe and Voyager sizes sell a lot better. (I've never owned a Megazord idk how big or complicated they're supposed to be. The ones I see posted, to my eyes look pretty boxy and simple. But I take it to mean that's the aesthetic design on the show.) |
So now to add on. I'm getting comments from folks on reddit that the new waves removed articulation in the forearms and shins.
Bandai really is trying to screw this line. Bandai if you do not want this line, just issue an apology and cancel it. Finish Zeo, Dinothunder, Space, and Ninjastorm. Don't bother with the Psycho rangers. Though I'm sure the prospect if 5 figures with the exact same build but different paint is appealing. Though I'm sure they want porn Pink/Yellow bodies. BOA isn't just dropping the ball. It's dropped it and decided to defecate on it. |

And Megazords are far less complicated than Transformers, nowadays. No reason to not have $50 premium Megazords. |
Bandai America sure does love being cheap, don't they?

Except they've tried that three times now first with Jungle Fury, then with Samurai and finally with Megaforce. And each time the cheap one sold while the high end one shelf warmed. |

BOA could've had something great with the Legacy line. I was so excited to build the MMPR team and even despite the hiccups it felt really good to have the whole team together. But it just didn't feel worth it. I'm glad I got them but I have absolutely no drive to keep going. I was so damn excited for Zeo Gold and now I have to paint the damn thing. The comparison with Hasbro is apt here becauseHasbro is doing everything Bandai should be. Delivering quality, fun and well-designed toys on a budget. I rarely feel like I have to customize a TF, more like I just want to, versus PR figures which NEED it. And TFs don't have the crutch of being non-transforming bucks with the same base body. |

As for the BoJ molds, they were over-priced TRU exclusives released after the cheap ones were. However, as soon as there was a price cut to around $40-50, they sold out fast. The key is to not base your price on import pricing. |

I'm not well-versed with MMPR legacy figure concerns, what's the matter with the MMPR Red helmet sculpt, the shoulders on the MMPRs, the questionable scale, and body sculpts??? I knew about the grey belt fiasco, the lack of paint on some of the morphers, the build-a-figures no one asked for, and ensuing lack of weapons. |

It shows Bandai didn't care. Shoulders - White Ranger has the best arms but as said the Legacy MMPR arms were based on the Ninjastorm arms. It makes them look weird. Scale : Personally I don't have an issue with this. I guess if you collect other figures it might stand out. Body Sculpt: Good lord this is an embarrassment. Now I prefer general male sculpt in comparison to the figuarts versions. I think they should have nixed the 6 picks and some other defined muscle. No reason to have them. Not the end of the world though. The female molds I think are sexist designs that now with the sexual harassment claims further shows the nonsense. It's embarrassing that someone designed these. It's embarrassing that someone approved them. There is no reason for the design of that chest. The female rangers on the show were not depicted like that at all. I don't remember Trini/Aisha/Kimberly and many others looking like their ranger suits were painted on. Even the women who were busty when they wore the American version of the suits still didn't come off as such. Then the arms and legs just fail to support the figure. Hard to hold weapons and barely able to stand. The figuarts figures got the majority of this right. Why couldn't BOA just copy? |
I question the choice of releases.
"We did Ninja Storm because, ninjas and Ninja Steel, and also you can build a Megazord with 3!" Yet, S.H. Figuarts Ninja Storm figures are like $15 a pop if you look hard enough. And that's still sealed. The market for Ninja Storm was not there. Why not go with something like Jungle Fury, which maybe not the most popular, at least gives you something new and different? I dunno. I feel the line started with awesome intentions and direction, and has quickly dropped in every aspect imaginable. I mean, even legs and arms are loose, or as Tom puts it, "noodley". |
I can't really agree with you on Ninja Storm. I cant go to a target or Walmart and pick up Figuart versions. I can't easily find these $15 figuarts you are talking about. I do think it was bogus that they didn't finish the team. They are going to do Ninjasteel rangers as those three extra figures.
You have to differentiate between Power Rangers and Sentai fans here. Also Ninjastorm did start off the Disney era of power rangers. WHY? Finish out Ninjastorm first. Who the hell are you selling these things to? Though at the end of the day. Bandai of American simply could have taken the Figuarts figures and mass produced them. I don't know if it was a rights issue but someone high up threw up the middle finger to this whole project. I'm pretty sure this line is gonna end in the next two years. I doubt we'll see the Shogun megazord. They will continue to be stuck with MMPR season 1 like it was Jesus Christs birth. I think the failure of the movie took out the steam. Probably thought they were looking at a billion dollars in revenue there. |
I bet the idiot bastard person that made that Legacy Gold Zeo Ranger got fired from the company and got hit by a car on his or her way home.
|
Did a 2 year old design the Legacy Gold Zeo Ranger?
