What is ZX's design motif?

Man, even though I'm a big fan of Showa Rider designs, it's a huge shame that this figure is pretty poor, even if it looks good in photos.

Showa Riders always seemed to spark my interest a lot more then some current rider suits if i do say so myself, It's sad to see when figures which cost a lot of money lack lots of things that are suppose to be shown within that figure with a big price tag.

While the suit itself is a little 'meh' for me, Helldiver is a rad as hell name for a bike.

I don't really like ZX's suit design at all, so coupled with the rampant QC issues kills any desire at all to own this figure.

Yeah, at least for being so simple, the paint on the Helldiver is very sharp. But it just doesn't look that cool to me either.

It sucks that his figure sucks. I'm a fan of older rider designs, so I'm always fond of their Figuarts. ZX is hard for me to be fond of, though. His neck looks really thin and lanky with that scarf and the color palette just doesn't strike me. Not to mention more subtle design elements like the Cross Shurikens strapped to his body just don't do anything for me.

There's honestly not many showa designs I'm particularly enamored by. I like some for their iconic nature or simplicity or other minor things but ZX doesn't really fall into those categories. It's not a bad suit, but it mostly just looks like the stuff I don't really like about that era. The Helldiver isn't particularly impressive either. While I do appreciate bikes that are more than just motorcycles with colors or things stuck on, the overall look just doesn't scream "Helldiver" to me.

Good design, bad execution.

ZX has a cool design, too bad the figure for him isn't that great.

ZX has such a cool ninja-esque design. It's just a shame that his movie is just all over the place and a mess.

The old-school suit design is fantastic. Sad to see the toy doesn't make the grade.

If he came with that Katana that the SIC version of him came with, I'd be all over this release. Still nice though.

Really wish I could appreciate this guy more. I'm sure what he comes with is the bare minimum of appropriate accessories but I have no reference. Guess this one needs to go on my watch list too.

I'm a big fan of the Showa designs, and think they translate really well to figures. This one is no exception - it looks really nice. It's a shame that the quality is as bad as you say, though. The bike looks nice, but once again, it's a shame about the quality of the old figure not working well with it.
