yeah I kind of wondered because on different sites/news articles I've seen both Stalk and Stark.
|
Stalk was the spelling used in the show, shown on camera when he sent the protagonists an email.

What IS pretty definitive, however, is this nifty trading card from episode 11 being held by Takumi Katsuragi in a video titled "FILE No. 002 BLOOD STALK": https://i.imgur.com/Aig4UUG.jpg And I mean, he created the guy, so I think he knows what he's talking about. :p Honestly, "Stalk" sounds way better anyway. It's just an inherently sinister word. |
thank you for definitively clearing that up for me.

honestly the sites im watching on have small windows so i didn't see that so its stalk -i still kinda like stark but ill take it

Don't the Japanese often mix up "L" and "R" anyway? For all we know if could be "Stark" and they just keep misspelling it. When you write the name in actual Japanese, does it come out as "Stark" or "Stalk"?

For what it's worth, regardless of what is shown in writing, the way they actually pronounce his name in the show is Stark. In Japanese, the word stalk almost sounds like it's spoken with an O, like "stolk." I don't remember what episode it is, but in one of these past episodes they actually use the word "stalker" and it isn't pronounced the same way they pronounce Stark's name. They say his name more like "stahk" and the difference is pretty noticeable when you hear it. I suspect the whole thing with the card saying Stalk is another Gord Drive situation and it's just another translation error. I know a lot of people prefer Stalk but based on the in-show pronunciation, I think Stark is actually correct.

but,..Stalk actually makes sense. "Stark",...really doesn't.

I dare anyone to watch the scene with Misora and her pops with this going in the background and not cry:
