Yeah, not going to happen. But I do hope they let Shout keep on doing the subbed Sentai, and let Shout go back and do the earlier shows. I've been enjoying watching them with my friends, and they are very much the sort that enjoy the older shows with the minature work and camera tricks they used back then. One of them is a TV news cameraman and editor, so he really enjoys seeing camera and directorial tricks.

And Hasbro is perfectly willing to put non-show things into a line to pad it out. If they felt they needed another Megazord I can very much see them slipping in something that if not an outright recreation of an old one, is an homage.

So what are we hoping for in Hasbro's Power Rangers toyline?

I'm hoping for villain figures.

That will more then likely happen because Hasbro knows that villains sale.

Hasbro will keep bugging Toei for another Psycho Ranger type team, this time with their own evil megazord.

You know, if they decide to adapt Toqger, they could make Darkliner toys that don't cost 300 bucks. And since there's multiple in-universe reuses, they could get even more off them!

As far as i know Toei and Ishinomori only have a say when it deals with stuff related to sentai, like an animated version of GoBusters for example. Power Rangers is adapted from sentai uses their likeness and such but as a brand its its own thing.

If things were to go south and Toei opted not to let Saban or Hasbro or whoever adapt any more series I would believe Animated Power Rangers would then be possible provided they did not try to copy sentai suit designs. I could be wrong and such but at least as long as Toei is providing the rights to sentai footage animated PR will be a no.

As for what id like to see in the 2019/2020 line (assuming it is going to be nick and thus follow the same 2 year spread) a couple toyline aux.

Bandai did wonderful I feel during Dino Charge I loved the idea of bringing in a few new zords. Wasn't a fan of the random recolors during Super but I still loved the idea of stuff pike the Deinosuchus zord. With GB having only one aux, and that was also the movie mecha Beast Morphers could use some extras.

Off the top of my head lets see.

Bike figures(whether they keep the buddyroid as characters or not is irrelevant) red with his cheetah bike. Blue could have a 4 wheeler with a gorilla theme and well girls dont get bike figures so no need to give yellow a vehicle. Though if they did wonder what itd be?.

I can see Saban go the route of Voltron Legendary Defender perhaps if they decide to part ways with Toei completely and give it the animated treatment(Heck, Golion, the source material, was a Toei anime come to think of it). Then they could probably reboot MMPR and update them to modern times, etc.

As for the Yellow ranger + original vehicle set, a dirt bike maybe?

They can't part ways with Toei - Toei own half the trademark. Disney wanted to ditch them but couldn't for the same reason.

If not then in theory down the road they could do an original ranger animated series provided they do not use any existing sentai designs as a base. But thats just my understanding of it. Also i recently heard that saban signed a 3 year contract with nick for 2019-2021 which seems unusual knowing that nicks contract terms is what forced saban into 22 episodes a year. Maybe nick is relaxing tjings cause logically saban should of signed a 4 year if the terms remained the same

Yes. Power Rangers is, in fact co-owned by Toei and Saban (and before that Toei and Disney and even before that Toei and Saban). As far as a 'share' goes, they have a 50% stake in it.

An animated series is impossible.

Well nothing is truly impossible just extremely unlikely since toei could sale said shares and thus make way of course but we can safely say that is extremely unlikely to happen in our lifetime.
