Honestly this reveal doesn't bother me in the slightest. I think the only reason this feels "out of nowhere" to anyone is because the entire fandom figured out who Sento was so easily. It's not like this stuff hasn't been set up at all. For one thing, crazy stuff involving Mars happening is kind of a given when the entire show's premise hinges on a magic box from Mars. But beyond that it's been obvious from the start there was something going on with Ryuuga beyond what was apparent. Blood Stalk in particular has consistently been super interested in him and his Hazard Level the whole series. It hasn't been as heavily foreshadowed as other things in the show but I think there's more than enough evidence this was always the intent. |
The funny part is that Sento would possibly have realized this a lot earlier if he had just let Banjou tell him about his past XD
They have clearly been setting something up for Banjou from the start, so it is not as out of left field as so people seem to feel it is. |

So forgot to post my thoughts on the episode earlier, so here they are now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh my god, all those interactions with Chihiro and Iyu really did turn Banjo into an Amazon! Everybody panic!!! But seriously, yeah this reveal doesn't actually surprise me after Stalk explicitly stated that he wanted Banjo and Sento to keep evolving through bouncing off each other like Nature vs Nurture. As for what are Banjo's origins. Going off the idea that Queen Vernage recognizes him at first, but isn't too troubled that he's lost his memories. Along with the fire cgi that happens when Stalk uses his powers now. I'm going to say Banjo was possibly Evolt's original body during the events that happened on Mars, and much like Ankh and Ankh (Lost), the uninhabited body grew a mind of its own. If this idea turns out to be true, I would say it's a great parallel with Sento. As that would make them both people who originally committed horrible acts, but after losing they're memories, they became a new person and now fight for peace and justice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote:

What if Banjou is the living battery required for the towers completion, hence why Stalk wants him to get stronger and why Vernage sees him as a potential hope.
He does seem to have the ability to make bottles either way, so potentially just a survivor ala superman. |

I just hope Magma doesnt get overshadowed by Genius. Would like both to be on equal footing. Magma for power and Genius for versatility.

They've always made a big deal of Banjou always growing in power and Sento being really flexible and analytical when it comes to kicking ass. |
Sawa totally ships SentoXBanjo
