I remember hearing about the helmet thing in linkaras video I believe. Who the hell thinks its a good idea for power rangers without the visors?

I don't know how anyone could look at that and think it would have worked. |

I've never actually seen either of the Power Rangers movies. I'm pretty sure I'm totally okay with that. |
They're both okay. The MMPR one is a lot better than the actual show to be honest, even considering the bad CG. The Turbo movie... it's okay? It's necessary to watch the Turbo series though, as it is the origin story. Unfortunately, it is no longer on Netflix.

Ten episodes into Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy
- Leo's pretty damn reckless, Damon is pretty forgettable, Kai does... nothing, Kendrix is kinda adorable, and Maya... well.. uh... I'm gonna go watch Not Another Teen Movie for a bit. - The series has some legitimately dark moments so far, between the mass genocide of Magna Defender's planet (including the On-Screen Death of his really young son. I mean, holy shit), the petrification of Mirinoi, and the "death" of Mike.. I honestly think this series is overlooked constantly. - My gripes about his voice aside, MAGNA. FUCKING. DEFENDER. - HIS SWORD IS A FUCKING SHOTGUN. - SHOTGUN. SWORD. - Going back to Leo for a bit, he's honestly the best Red Ranger actor so far. He actually shows legitimate emotion in his acting, such as his constant depression over his brother, his sense of justice, and how quickly he can go from being playful to the most serious motherfucker around. Hell, look at how he reacted toward Magna Defender's blind destruction in Episode 10. |
I've always thought of Lost Galaxy as an underrated series. The cast is mostly competent; its just such a shame they never really gave them very much interesting to do.
Except for... well, I can't elaborate further without spoiling. |
I liked Lost Galaxy.
Sucks that Leo's actor, Danny Slavin, apparently resents the show :P |
Lost Galaxy is definitely one of my least favourite seasons. The only ones I rank lower are Ninja Storm, Operation Overdrive and possibly Turbo.

Makes me wonder, what wss the falling out related to? I know it was during the LSR crossover. Honestly though, why call it lost galaxy? They didnt even go there until the end.

32 episodes into Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy
- Damon and Kai still do fucking nothing. - Maya is more or less a walking viewing globe. - Leo is one of my favorite Red Rangers now. He's a bunch of actual emotions, and has a huge sense of justice. And he also throws himself into a fucking blind rage whenever something goes horribly wrong. Such.. as... - ...Kendrix. Kendrix, Kendrix, Kendrix... The most adorable and level-headed rangers so far in the brand ended up becoming my favorite Pink Ranger ever. And then there's her death... One of the most emotional and outright depressing scenes in Power Rangers (Hell, in Children's Television as a whole) and it's honestly something I didn't expect from the In Space crossover. - No seriously. Anyone who says Kimberly or that chick from Time Force is the best Pink Ranger ever? Kendrix says "Fuck you". - I'm torn as hell about Karone being the new Pink Ranger. Yeah, it's a redemption subplot, but it seems like the sloppiest and laziest possible decision in the series. Don't believe me? Check out her morph stock footage when you get the chance. Saban just pasted her head on top of Kendrix's. At least she still wears nothing but leather... mmmmmhmmhmmmmm. - Magna Defender's subplot got wrapped up pretty fucking quick. It's a shame that the powers are in the hands of Bland McGeneric now. - So yeah... this series is definetely dark as hell. Between the Mass Genocide and backstory of the Magna Defender, to the onscreen deaths of Magna Defender's son AND the Pink Ranger of the series? You've got some massive balls, Saban. Massive. Fucking. Balls. Last Episode Watched: Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Episode 32. "Protect The Quasar Saber" Number of Episodes Watched: 325 Number of Episodes Remaining: 441 Number of Times Secretcode has went "Goddammit" while watching the show: 71 Number of Times Secretcode has went "The fuck?" while watching the show: 30 --- Place your bets now! Which series will it take for Secretcode to ultimately crack and give up on this stupid as hell quest? |
Kimberly doesn't hold a candle to Kendrix or Jen. Don't let Linkara's nostalgiavision on her tell you otherwise.
Kendrix is my personal favorite pink ranger as well, but Jen is a close contender... Lost Galaxy is a nice little series. Tends to suffer from "Not In Space Syndrome," but I still like it. |
Secretcode....my bet is operation overdrive is the series that makes you throw in the towel. But by then, you're so close to the end, you may as well stick.it out since jungle fury and rpm are good
|
My guess is Ninja Storm will be the breaking point.
|
Yeah, I'd definitely place Ninja Storm as the franchise's lowest moment.
|
I liked Ninja Storm when it aired. Ninja Storm has NOTHING on Operation Overdrive...
Quick update, as I usually don't like doing updates episode by episode: - Dammit Leo, keep your goddamn shirt on. It's bad enough you rip it off every damn episode in the opening, but come on. This has to be like the eighth Shirtless Leo so far. |

Lost Galaxy: Completed.
Final Thoughts: - The "Lost Galaxy" part of Lost Galaxy was completely useless and is honestly the most tacked on thing about this season as a whole - Karone never feels like an actual member of the team once she joins. It's honestly like she's just there to be the "Blonde Girl" and nothing else. - Yeah, yeah. In Space sure is dark. But honestly, it has NOTHING on the turns Lost Galaxy takes, especially in the final three episodes. Journey's End is a lot better than Countdown to Destruction. A lot. - The problem I had with a bunch of the prior series is that a lot of the main villains ended up becoming something you can sympathize with. Lord Zedd and Rita became a comedic affair and something you took pity on, Divatox (While an enormous pain in the ass) kept getting shit on during In Space, Astronema... well.. you know... It's nice to see that there was NOTHING AT ALL redeemable about Lost Galaxy's true villain, Trakeena. She was an evil, manipulative, psychotic bitch of a villain and when she was finally killed off, you were fucking glad about it. - The ending scene itself was a thing of super-lucky convenience. "Hey remember that planet from the first episode? LOOK WHERE YOU LANDED! LOL!" "OH HEY, YOU PUT THE SWORDS BACK? EVERYONE'S FINE NOW." "OH BY THE WAY, SO IS KENDRIX." Thanks for the Shamalylyliylnmlaan there, Saban. - Overall, I highly enjoyed Lost Galaxy. Out of the various seasons so far, I'd say it beats out In Space as my favorite. So far it goes: Lost Galaxy, In Space, Zeo, MMPR, Turbo. Lightspeed Rescue starts tomorrow. Last Episode Watched: Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Episode 45. "Journey's End, Part 3" Number of Episodes Watched: 338 Number of Episodes Remaining: 428 |
Its nice to see someone else who enjoyed lost galaxy. I loved the route they went with the lost galactabeasts. Trakeena was a truly despisable villain, but I liked captain mutiny too. Despite being more comedic, I think he could have been a fine secondary villain for longer than he actually was.
|
Lightspeed Rescue is a pretty good series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
|
I always thought it was a missed opportunity that they never managed to draw a clearer parallel between Trakeena getting more evil and ruthless with Karone atoning for being Astronema and trying to make things right.
If they'd had a bit more forewarning, maybe it coulda been brought off, but the more I hear about, the fact that Lost Galaxy made it to air at all (never mind was as good as it was) is amazing in its own right. |

I was referring to the fact that they all sorts of production troubles on that series--usually something that ill-starred crashes and burns most spectacularly.
But it worked well in the end. Question: Anyone else as happy as me when Captain Mutiny finally died? He was one of the most third-rate "master villains" ever, I thought. |
I know the return in the finale is trite but considering Kendrix' actress beat leukemia to come back for that final bit I cannot hate it.

It has been over one month since I updated this thread.
In that one month, I have only seen 10 episodes of Lightspeed Rescue. Fuck Lightspeed Rescue. So far it has been nothing but an unwatchable, maggot-ridden piece of shit. The rangers are boring as fuck. The entire concept, which could have bee Totally Fucking Rad is a boring waste of time. Nothing, outside of the tech and zords, is enjoyable. I am honestly debating just giving up on this whole watch every episode thing. That's how much I hate this show. |

I'm watching the first Titanium Ranger episode now. The action so far has been a lot better in this episode, but it's kinda sad that it took 10 damn episodes to get to the point where I'm liking something. Goddamn. EDIT #1- "Who are you?" "It doesn't matter anymore." Oh boy, a new brooding Ranger. Really digging the suit and weapon though, and the action reminds me a lot of the cool-ass shit from In Space/Lost Galaxy. I'm... having fun with this episode. EDIT #2- Oh come the fuck on. Why would you give Rescue Rangers giant letter "V"s that turn into Lances. What POSSIBLE rescue uses could that have? EDIT #3- Oh hey, actual plot. Looks like the commander has skeletons in his closet. I WONDER IF IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIS DEAD SON. HMMMM. EDIT #4- OH HEY, LOOK AT THAT. Episode 12 time. EDIT #5- WOW this episode starts fucking dark. Way to make a deal with Satan. "No brother of mine could be as evil as you are." "UNLESS HIS FATHER LET HIM FALL OFF A CLIFF TO SAVE HIS LITTLE SISTER." |
