I really enjoyed the first episode if this does what Decade to me and make what check out past rider season again this on season I skip due to time then I will keep watching. I mean due to work infound it hard to keep up with each season

Heisei Generations FINAL is set before Movie War Ultimatum (chronology-wise in regards to Fourze). If I remember correctly, in the film, Gentaro goes to Russia to see Yuki off as she heads into space. Yuki returns from space in Movie War Ultimatum.

That was likely one of the last things they wrote in as they admitted they forgot about it after people went "Yo what the fuck is Fourze doing here what happened to Ultimatum?" after the first trailer popped up

I love how Build's appearance is literally a cameo because of how short it is. Hell, even if you remove Build's scenes it won't really affect a thing since it's only there to show the time travel and meeting past Riders aspect.

I hope he has more screen time in the next episode though.

We are not doing au riders, so it's more of the new hero and heroine story, so better not overshadow them too much. Aside from the ninninger's writer not incorporating the build as an alternate world rider and how rush it is, it's an ok episode with a lot of set up that raise a lot fo questions. So does that mean it's a time paradox, geiz and the girl is creating history and not changing it. I mean it's going according to woz's book that he will gain build and probably all riders' power. It seems 555 phone and Ghost watch aren't obtain from their respective past rider or an enemy's defeat, so I guess ZiO will obtain and defeat all the riders until he's the only one left. It's like the blueprint out of decade except we are zio have more of an story than decade.

With so many writers and specials, a lot of retcon and rehash will happen like build worlds combining. They can't travel to 555 time unless it's the actors are in suits since the actors really show their true age with wrinkles. It would be nice if kiba's actor was still around. Maybe we will see non main riders or just allies from their respective shows like kaido did appeared in a lot of toku including kr4. It's odd that according to summaries, the uncle knows about Kamen rider, but zio have no clue. I mean nowadays they're no longer a secret. It seem zio might ignore Showa since we have more than enough materials unlike decade.

I mean Build's confirmed to be at episode 14 or something at the point Zi-O pops in. My point is that you're trashing Saban for something Toei themselves often do, just seems hypocritical

So far Woz is the most interesting character to me. He looks like he's Oma Zi-O's loyal servant and trying to make sure everything goes according to history, but in the opening we see him burning his book and the pages are blank. Maybe he's actually trying to rewrite history, either for saving the world or for his own agenda

A little disappointed they didn't show 2018 Sento & Banjou. I really want to see how are they doing in the new world

That BGM sounded more Indian than Egyptian.

This episode was ok, but rushed on a level that would make Sentai premieres blush. I'm glad the belts are simple and aren't as yappy as in previous years (I'm getting really sick of the unintelligible noise from the Ex-Aid belts now that I'm getting through that show). The opening theme isn't as good as Be The One, but it's still better than the last decade of themes.

I've ID'd the problem with most of Phase 2 Heisei: they have plenty of great ideas, but do a bad job executing them. Sougo's scenes about him wanting to be a king come off really cartoony, as though ripped straight from an anime. To be fair though, so far it's not nearly as bad as in Ex-Aid, where almost every character comes off as an anime stereotype.

That's very similar to be honest yeah. But with Woz even mentioning egypt in Episode 1.5, I expect that to be an influence throughout the show.
Future will tell I guess.

The only nitpick I have is Geitz's henshin pose is far better.

In a Ziku Driver hack video I saw, the word "Ancient" came out. So yeah, the show may get some Egyptian elements

And most of Zi-O cast have obvious punny names. Time Jackers for example :
Uhr (clock/watch in german), Ora (Time in Italian) and Schwartz (don't know if the pun is only "black" in german or "Black Quartz" maybe).

Woz definitely will have a bigger role. I suspect he'll play the role of DJ Sagara as someone who guides the MC at the beginning of the show. What will he do after that? Time will tell

I don't know what to say. This episode feels normal to me. Though it makes me curious and wanted to watch the next episode. I feel like we're going to have every episode team up with past Riders pattern like Decade and I think that will be boring. Not that I hate to see the past Riders again.

Is it really possible to meet all of the the past riders in the past? Maybe some of the actors are aged and will look different from the series and that will be odd if Zi-O meet them in the past.

I kinda feel like Sougo's whole desire to "be a king" thing would've made more sense if we were shown him living a shittier life. As of this episode, we see him as just some middle class/average joe going to high school and living at his uncle's place, so the his catchphrase makes him come off as some dude with delusions of grandeur.

Had this been the tale of a kid who was constantly mistreated by life and found out being rich and powerful could make things better for him and his uncle, it would come across as more believable that he became a overlord under good intentions but turned evil along the way.

Actually they already have a way to get out of that scenario, the fact that Geiz uses the Ghost RideWatch in this episode means we no longer need to have a Ghost tribute episode since Geiz already collected the main powerup from that series.

Theoretically they could just introduce more RideWatches by saying that Geiz or Tsukiyomi somehow collected them before they met Sougo, or possibly introduce a third or rather a fourth rider who already has a bunch of their own.

The beginning is too similar to Decade. I mean, we started Decade with a warning about who he was to become...we got the same thing here.

The episode feels rushed as hell and I think they should really start to do the kind of pilots we have in the West ( a 40 minutes ~ hour long episode)

Woz is interesting but I'm more interested in the little guy that transformed the civilian into a monster...

Also, I already like Tsukuyomi...I wonder if they will exploit the japanese Mythology with a name like that....

I don't like Sougo....I'm not a fun of dumb protagonists....

Liking the first episode. It's very interesting in the setup, the nods, and the story devices, and love the camera techniques. Woz is definitely an early break out hit.

Going to have to keep an eye out for Ride Majins as miniplas.

A more harsher life usually leads to more empathy, he wouldn't have become an overlord. It's usually the middle to upperclass "spoiled" with dreams of grandeur that become corrupted by power and strength. Hence why his friend tried to humble him with that flip off. So if he had a crappier life, Oma Zi-O actively wouldn't exist. You see it in how Sougo acts. He's mildly directionless, king for power's sake and to rule. Not for a reason. This episode is interesting because how he gained that power was for a reason to protect others. How the story goes from there, how he become power mad and corrupted, is where the journey takes us. Like pointed out in the feudal era, this guy doesn't seem like Oma Zi-O he actually cares about the well being of others and is gentle. Those who live a harsher life, usually end up more understanding of where people come from. Selfishness and sometimes education is usually the deciding factor. A bullied kid often turns inward and is compassionate, a bullied kid that has privilege usually strikes back and commits atrocities. Surrounding circumstances make all the difference. You see it predominately in America as examples. Privileged cause atrocities by their own actions or ignorance or selfishness, underprivileged get goaded into their mistakes by outside factors whispering in their ear. So having Sougo have this mix of education and a loving supportive uncle, raises the question more of how he got corrupted by power and stopped caring about others. But that's a myth that underprivileged "crappy life" or low income kids learn to hate others. More often the opposite is true and it's the privileged or spoiled or selfish that do. Things that Sougo isn't, but his directionlessness can lead to if the wrong person begins whispering in his ear or guiding him. So it's not "crappy life" that determines that, but bad parenting or influences.

As for other rider cameos. It's only the last 20 years. While some have aged, there'll likely be some in suit only, and some haven't really visibly aged that much at all. Other bits can be written off as time fluctuations. Like the audience was told with the faiz shot. The focus is on Heisei. So Showa will be a rare to non-existent thing of the way far back past. That's later when they get to the 50th.

Well the entire premise is that he's a dumb teen that wants to be king and has more going for him than he realizes. Which is why his paths diverge. On one side he becomes Oma Zi-o corrupted by power and deciding to rule by strength, on the other side, he tries to help people and learns compassion and empathy. This is the story of his growth from dumb kid to adult.

It's like that royalty argument in Fate zero between Artoria and Alexander the Great. With Sougo as Emiya, the girl as Artoria, and Geiz as Alexander, but in this instance it's more Geiz thinks that Souga will turn into something worse than a king that revels in privilege and rules by strength to hold others down.

The show is built on that moral foundation for kids/teens that look at 'power' and 'ruling' as end goals for power's sake and is a forewarning about what that leads to and why.

It's a bit different than Decade. Decade is more a Hakaider rider. He was about destroying the other riders because of his origins, to then learning he could gain their abilities through more co-operation.

In Zi-O's case, he's destroying fake riders, and befriending the real to learn life lessons from them. This is more a partnership/bond than how Decade forced his whims on the past riders. Zi-O has their powers lent to him, not forcefully taken or abusing them. Decade was more forceful without even asking which you see in how he 'kamen rides' and then pushes the rider in position to use them as a tool.

But Oma-Zi-O is likely potentially tied to some kind of Future Shocker. They've been a constant thorn in all generations under new names. Even Foundation X is a splinter group of them. They're one of those rider constants since they gave birth to the original story-wise.

We also haven't seen the cause of the change to overlord either. There could be reasons he changed. Could be as simple as Oma Zi-O is Another Rider. Or could be more complicated because of events that set it in motion that pushed him to it from things others do in trying to prevent it. Or Woz's machinations that push Zi-O into it by altering the influences in Zi-O's life. I have a feeling the uncle will play a key role in that, as will others he meets along the way. And Evol has yet to show up too and how that impacts Zi-O and Oma Zi-O.

Someone already got the word "Shocker" when hacking Ziku Driver, so why not?

But honestly, I hope Shocker will not be involved in the show's story. Maybe they can appear in a movie, but I really hope this show can develop their own villain group

Good episode. I liked it and am definitely interested in seeing more.

I thought 'Other Build' was pretty neat looking. Especially the monster face and eyes. It was like finally seeing one of it the SIC figures realized in 'real life.'

And I know people don't like Ghost that much, but to make it the first alternate form for the evil Rider? Ouch!

We won't know until after Den-O, but the time jackers are likely connected to shocker as another splinter group. And then potentially a bigger movie presence like the OOO shocker coins.

Do have to admit that Oma Zi-O is very shocker rider general like though. But he seems more like one that'd wipe them out and take the symbol.

That might be something that comes up in the Decade episodes too. Since Decade is directly connected to Shocker. Do know that Showa riders are at a bare minimum, and won't be a thing until at least after Den-O's episodes. Heisei is the main focus. Which is really only 19 series of content to deal with.

Though it'd make sense if Rider X is tied to Fourze. But then there's also the sentai crossover to keep in mind too.

Geiz isn't evil. He's trying to stop an evil rider from rising.

First of all, my god the CG was bad, this franchise is on a ham sandwich budget but yeesh usually it's less noticeable. However, other than that, this season shows off a LOT of promise. Sougo being a complete fucking idiot tickles my funny bone "WHY DID YOU DO THIS YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED ALL THE DEATH" "ok but I wanna be kiiiiiing". Geiz is great and I like Tsukuyomi a lot too. The Build cameo barely mattered for this episode but that's for next week. Another Build though, holy shit that suit is gorgeous and terrifying in motion, what the fuck. The transformation effects are really cool but the fight itself was very lacking. Doesn't help you can kinda see Takeiwa's flab in the suit too. And Geiz Ghost goes all Grateful. Oh, and Oma Zi-O has a baller suit, though I feel he's not as intimidating as he could be. Should have taken notes from Chronus' acting

Yeah, I think Oma Zi-O should have stayed quiet the entire episide. That would make him more intimidating and mysterious

LOVING the Another - Rider madness. SIC vs SHF delights me to no end

It's not even being quiet, he's wiggling his arms left and right to defend himself, when honestly a sinister, low effort looking single hand would get the point across much better, it looks like he's putting some effort into it or being flashy, but that as a result is less creepy

I know this post was from, like, a few days ago. But I wanted to point this out.

Well, Kento Shimoyama has stated that the plan for the series is 38 past Rider related episodes (two-parters; so 19 tribute arcs), with 10 extra episodes for the final battle.

So, yeah. Safe to say, we're gonna be getting a tribute for EVERY single Heisei Rider.

It's much more "How not to summon a demon lord" in the way they did it, which carries an emphasis of Oma Zi-O might have more to him than it seems. Not crappy. More bravado and over done intentionally. How they did it was perfect. As we learn more, aspects of this episode should come more into focus for why different things had to be done certain ways. As Sougo said, he hates fighting. That aspect of hating fighting and potentially hating confrontation comes through in future Oma Zi-O too in body language.

What's also interesting is we're hearing he's an evil overlord, but not what makes him evil besides fighting back to everyone attacking him. How did he destroy the future, why. What set him on this path of bravado and ego. As she noticed early on, he's not like past Sougo. So what caused the difference, what event caused it. He seems to have intentionally left certain people around to do what they do. Very cyclical.

Which is what sets up the entire story and innate nature of the show. So they really couldn't change either of those things because they were needed as they were for the innate nature of the show. Besides how it'd ruin the psychology of the show too. That's such a false notion that people that go through hardship end up hating the world. Privileged, spoiled or selfish people do that, not actual people that endure real hardships(not counting some traumas, but this is a kid's show). Like I said before it comes down to parenting, and Sougo's uncle seems to be doing something right overall. He's got a little bit of an "Iroh" sense to him. But when you really look at tragedies that have happened, the catalyst is pretty much 99% of the time some form of privilege or toxicity being whispered in their ear, and not about actual harsh life aspects or socio-economic class. That's a western "privilege" myth that "bullied poor people are violent" and is perpetuated as such. Usually it's almost always some mix of privilege, ego, or ignorance/toxicity. Things Sougo seem without, so his 'overlord' aspect must come from something else. (Possibly 50 years of dealing with people like that. 20 years of dealing with it and I'm already pleading for a meteor to hit Earth on some days. Well, if it'd only wipe out the mean and willfully ignorant people at least.)

Same as the build cameo sets up some concepts about multiverse/time travel and acted as the foreshadow to Another Rider Build and the spill over into next week and the setup of the Faiz Shot. It was a brisk setup pace, but it kept the show nicely engaging and waiting for the next episode to keep audiences hooked.

Glad to hear it. Makes for some fun stuff to see definitely. The contrast works wonders, and when Sic does this series, it's going to be interesting to see them Sic the another rider forms. It'd be a sic of a toei sic of a sic. So three times the SIC.

So, did that Build monster wander around for a year before it was defeated by Zi-O ?

The missing kids in Sougo's uncle's newspaper seems like they're just missing recently.

Regarding that, when he gets turned into the monster the episode lists it as 2017 at least, and when we see the newspaper that the main characters uncle is reading it is 2018.

Unless the 2017 on the street there is something caused by the villain.

It should be noted that at this time the main character is back in 2017 meeting Build and best secondary rider ever Cross-Z, and it is snowing in both shots, the 2017 wiggly text is on the street there directly after he is turned as well.

So I am not fully sure, but to me it seems like he wandered like a monster for either a year or from before the new year so either way for quite some time.

The villain seems to be picking the target for turning into a monster by picking people that where supposed to die anyways (( or about to be severly injured, since this is a kid show it is likely more black and white and he was supposed to have died )). Which is quite interesting I must admit, the villain was not shown taking the kid from 2017 into 2018, though I assume something like that will be done.
