Not that I'm complaining, I only buy new-age Ultraman figures but still. |
This year no new SS figuarts other then kiva?

Kinda weird too, I expected at least Beast or Water/Ground/Hurrican Style to go alongside Wizard and maybe some Kiva-stuff besides the man himself. No Showa Shinkocchou Seihou's either. |
Here's that Machine Kivaa set btw:
https://i.imgur.com/l3DFjrW.jpg I hate it how they pack in cool accessories with the bikes now in a poor attempt to get people to buy them. If they don’t sell, just don’t make them, and start including accessories with the figures again. That violin should come with Kiva! |

It's always hard to know when to strike the balance between keeping the prices low and which accessories to put with the main figure, but I feel in this case they got it right on. The violin in particular is important to Kiva's character, but it's not something he used in-hand an awful lot; and most time he used it it wasn't even in the suit. Meanwhile, the chair is something that was only in the intro and the last few episodes -- and when it appeared in those last few episodes, it was again out of suit. The way I'd put it is this -- Machine Builder was pretty awful because it was a case where it was practically necessary to make Build a good package. But here, this is essentially just a deluxe bonus kit. Some of the more lesser-used larger items from Kiva if you're a big fan, but hardly necessary if you just want a decent figure of Kiva on a budget or for your Heisei Rider collection. |
Hell yeah Kivaa! One of my favorite bikes. Would have bought it even without the extra accessories.

Did Wizard's original styles sell all that well? Because that might be a potential reason.
Definitely surprised we didn't see an SS Beast, though. You'd think they'd at least want to capitalise on his recent return and all that* *Assuming the toy department knows about the marketing department, which is pretty unlikely, but a Silver can dream |
Well, at least RabbitDragon's Figuart is more solid than his TV appearance.

So much good Build-stuff. Thankfully I need none of it so my wallet can relax a bit until Evol Black Hole and Build Genius come around. I'm sure I don’t have to wait all too long for the former, the later might take a while though.
Given that Hyper Muteki is still not revealed even though it was teased like what, half a year ago? Seems like it should’ve been displayed here. Quote:
Bummer that the experience wasn’t rounded up with a new Beast Figuart reveal but oh well. |
Was hoping to see more SS figuarts this year. And now that is gone.

I just want to know where and when I can get my Vampire AND his ride. |

Nice! They're going all out on Kiva it seems. Really hope that means we're going to see more from Kiva covered in riders and forms as well as the side monsters.
|
Love the simplicity of the Rabbit/Dragon form. Liked it better than Genius. Disappointed it still hasn't gotten a SoDo version

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/...20181028041852 That's it? Two repaints? What a terrible way to end off the Ultraman announcements! |
|
I'm frankly amazed they're getting any kind of release
|
Yeah the fact that they're being released at all is kind of a triumph in its own right. I'll take them in whatever form they come, so Zero is fine with me. Makes the possibility of repaints a little more likely too. Cheaper to manufacture with no or few moving parts.
|
Funny, had a feeling they'd be Zeros since in the initial pics, they lack obvious joints in the elbows and knees (You can't see any cuts).
But them getting a release period is amazing. Can easily be painted into their powered-up all-black forms, too. |
If these would’ve been regular Figuarts I'd be tempted but I have no interest in statues.

EVOL COBRA FORM PHASE 1
YES BEST FORM Black Hole Form missed the mark for me so I'm beyond ecstatic at this one. The goddamn Hokuto Sanbagarasu?! My favorite two kaijins plus Stag? Genuine shocker! Will absolutely buy for Castle and Owl and sell Stag to my roomate who loves RabbitTankHazard so he can pose him killing Stag. :P Jesus, between these and Lazer Chambara Bike Gamer Level 3, it really is Announce Everything Ichi Wants Week. XD |
Would have been great if they showed us figuarts zero of Jiro, Ramon, and Riki from Kiva in their kaijin forms but I guess that is a story for another day.

Kind of disappointed that they Hokuto Crows are Figuarts Zero. Oh well. If they ever release any of Kiva's other three forms, I'd pick them up instantly.
|
So basically the accessories the base Kiva figure should have come with are being used as a way to get people to buy the bike they otherwise may have no interest in? Classy.
|
Delighted as I am by the Kiva stuff and the Crows, I'm a little surprised there weren't any other significant Shinkocchou Seihou surprises.
Maybe it's the absence of additional SS Wizard stuff? Since Flame Style is about to see release, I'd've expected them to have at least some prototypes of related figures, if only to encourage sales of what's about to be released. No reappearances of Nazca or Diend. I suppose Takeshi Hongo must not have sold well enough for them to experiment with another SS pre-henshin Rider. I'm wondering whether sales on Kiva are going to have a dramatic impact on the future of the SS line. Maybe it has to do with Figuarts Next. If they're transitioning to an entirely new Figuarts technology, they might radically revise their plans. |
So no Hyper Muteki on display well now I'm worry were not going to get it. Also no new Seihou figuarts either hmm. I though we at least see another of Wizard forms or a Showa Rider or something.
This year was very small and with the reveals especially the Ex-Aid display. IDK why bandai though giving us lazor lv 3 instead of Muteki seem really dumb to me. I just don't see lazor forms being release since the other 2 Ex-aid ones were not. What should have been on display was Cronus repaint but it was not. Kinda sad how bandai treat the Ex-aid line by not releasing Ex-aid lv 99 and Muteki but showing them off earlier in the year. This is a bit off topic but I feel in the future with the main rider not getting all his forms release and bandai doing all the forms for second rider or popular rider just not fun. Why even collect the line when were not going to get all the main rider forms just not worth it anymore because the main rider is getting screw. |
