I liked it! gave me heavy Lost Galaxy - Wild Force/Post-Zordon Saban era vibes, which happens to be IMO the golden years of Power Rangers so I'm all for it.
For the first time in years the actors can actually do a decent bit of voicework and don't sound like screaming toddlers through a metallic filter like some other characters. Comic relief, honestly as long as they don't pull another two parter based around a fart joke I'm 100% okay with them. Honestly I think they're kinda cute so far, if they start to make them into Bulk and Skull 5.0 at that point I'll be like yeah no. Hopefully the rest of show sticks to this quality! I'll keep checking it out if it does. |
I already see the Devon and his dad conflict episode (his dad doesn't know he's a ranger and still sees him as a slack off until he rescues him in his BM mode).
The kid with glasses is obviously going to be Gold. I do hope they have a way of putting J in the series (like his personal beast bot or something). If Hasbro manages to adapt the Go Busters x Gokaigers in the series and they make it good, then Hasbro really made PR as their own. |
I all ways found it B.S. for the past 6 or 7 years or so in every season a new Ranger team would ask. What are power rangers. I am so happy that's gone.
I can't wait for the next episode. |

While I love that it all original footages, it's not satisfying. Not much happened. It leaves a lot of questions but it didn't really make me excited to see the next episode.
I don't like how the story progress. They didn't introduce the characters properly. They should've at least show their names so I can remember them. The characters just came out of nowhere and suddenly they become an important character. And I hate that the opening theme suddenly showed up at an inappropriate time so it feels awkward. I don't understand why the mayor can't know the rangers identity. I know that Power Rangers usually hide their identity but this time the rangers related to the government. |
Just watched and while maybe it's from not subjecting myself to the last couple of seasons, but I wasn't as blown away as some seem to be. Granted, it does seem like it's actually trying and it definitely gives me hope with the RPM era vibes and paying some homage to what came before properly, it felt more "good" than "excellent" to me. It's hard to really judge off of a 20-some minute episode and season openers tend to be better at getting you hyped than what the show ultimately delivers on, but it is a promising start and that's all I could really hope for here.

Jazz's delivery is kinda wonky but otherwise everything works. I'm certain that short girl and chubby guy are going to be recurring comedy relief and that will be fun.

Caught the first episode, from a dailymotion link someone shared. And I thought it was enjoyable personally, as said before the production values have definitely improved. While some of the lines seemed kinda clunky I thought the actors handled them well enough that it wasn't cringe worthy.. While it is just the first episode it did make me excited for the rest of the season

Manu Reynaud is doing the suit acting work for Devon's Beast Bot, Cruise - https://thehumanagency.co.nz/profile...u-Reynaud-2359

I really, really liked this. It feels so good being genuinely excited about PR again, really hope the show can keep up this momentum

Was pretty fun. Wasn't in love, but I did enjoy myself. Only character I'm not really big on is the child scientist. He's no Dr. K. Who knows, maybe he'll grow on me. I dunno.
Still, it was fun. The fight was nice, and Escape being yellow makes sense now. Cast is nice, and I'm curious to see where this goes. |
Caught a second-showing thanks to DVR and i have to echo the positivity
The show LOOKS like a nickledeon show, which i attribute to the lighting. However, the effects, sets, and costumes all look pretty good, the no one's mailing in the acting, and the plot is pretty deep for what is a kids show. You got the mayor worried about the dangers of the morph-X power, his kid wanting to carve his own path, the beginnings of the other rangers, a failed love relationship, another ranger wanting to impress his mom. More going on in one episode than i'd expect They managed to hold my attention without giving away any special attacks or zords, or even a morph sequence, so they have alot left to unveil I had grabbed a dirt cheap SHF Red Buster off AmiAmi, its quite antiquated, but i am eager to see how the Lightning Collection pans out |
This was an excellent first episode. And this is coming from someone who, shocker, has found Power Rangers to be absolutely unwatchable for the better part of a decade.
This show is setting itself up to be a solid sci-fi series in it's own right, outside of the franchise it's actually a part of. The actors can act, the choreography and action is on point, the original content is wonderful, and right out the gate we have a reason to want to follow each ranger's story. Whether that''s fighting to get yours friends and or signifcant other back, trying to prove that you can be bigger than the lot life has given you, or in Devon's case just trying to prove you don't need to be what someone tells you you should, each of them has a compelling reason to follow their story. This could fall apart with the very next episode, but I'm incredibly hopeful the show can keep up this level of quality. It's astounding to have positive things to say about a Power Rangers season, but this show is doing right by it's source material. Go-Busters was arguably one of my favorite sentai ever. Following in it's footsteps, Beast Morphers is trying something totally new. Good on Hasbro for recognizing that's what the brand needed right now, instead of doubling down and tanking it like Saban did. |
Beast Morphers in my personal opinion is RPM meet Jetman.
I wasn’t big fan of Go-Busters or any Neo-Saban shows but I really enjoyed this episode and I can’t wait to see more of Beast Morphers. The relationship between Ravi and Roxy’s relationship remind me of Ryu Tendo and Rie/Maria’s relationship because not only his lover was supposed to be Ranger but end up becoming a villain instead. I like Devon is not too serious compare to Hiromu/Red Buster and especially Troy. He got likable personality. I wonder if the head writer was influenced by Jetman because there’s some moment that have Jetman feel. Hopefully, Beast Morphers do more original footage than reusing footage from Sentai show because it would be very lazy if you reuse the footage from Sentai show. Great way to kick off Hasbro Era. :) EDIT: I forgot to mention that ladder gag have me laughing. I didn't expect that one. :lol |
So two things about Nate Silver:
1. He has the same name as the sabermetrician-turned-political analyst. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything, I just thought it was weird. 2. I certainly hope they don’t forego Beet J Stag and have him literally become the Silver Ranger or have BJS become his Avatar. It would be nice to have them both be individual characters, also the “Silver” thing would be stupidly on the nose and way too corny, even for this series. |
So Nate is confirmed to be the Gold Ranger? IDK he's pretty much the only character I'm ehh about right now.
|
I'm just hoping Cruise's voice isn't gonna be terrible and whiney like Redbot's was in Ninja Steel.
|
|
I'm not a PR guy, but maybe I might watch this later depending what they do with J. And bananas.
|
I am guessing Devon could say he got a job at Grid Battleforce to help keep his cover as a ranger and why he might be there a lot now.
To anyone who still wants to watch the episode but have not be able to for reasons then here you go. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZpR...3KGzkXq0Y/view Good thing this guy had one. |
