We don't know if is a demon sentai right now.

The only thing that would make me doubt the machine thing is that, well, Kamen Rider's kind of got that covered at the moment. Generally speaking cocurrent Sentai and Rider go for very different themes with minimal crossover; which kinda makes sense so they aren't competing with each other. Even very close calls like Toqger and Drive both being vehicle-based had an obvious distinct difference from each other.

But then again Go-Busters overlapped with two rider shows that aired while it aired too, specifically OOO and Fourze which had animals and technology respectively while Go-Busters had animals AND technology. I do see your point though.

I do like the Arabian Nights angle too aside from my current opinion.

Well again, there are significant differences there:-

- Unlike its adaption, Go-Busters never really played up its animal theming. Sure, the zords had animal modes; but they were minor points and beyond a few details and it wasn't a significant part of the roleplay weapons, the combined mecha or even the ranger designs themselves. The only time I feel it was ever played up was with Tatagami Li-Oh, which of course debuted after OOO ended.

- There was tech in both Go-Busters and Fourze, yeah; but obviously with much different theming. Go-Busters was more about spy equipment and operations while Fourze was full-on space. ... and, uh, switches.


It's not so much that there can't be a tech-based sentai alongside a tech-based rider; or a mystic-based sentai alongside a mystic-based rider. It's more what form that takes -- Ninninger and Ghost both had mystical elements to them, but one was about ninjas while the others was about spectres and historical figures.

I want to see Yumi Kakazu be the narrator and voice the devices if they were to do the Arabian Mythology motif. Also, if they choose the Arabian motif, it be like Gosieger but with Muslim elements or if Goseiger was Muslim instead of Christian. I will expect that the episode will end with the Islamic date of the date of airing and the base will set in Tokyo Camii.

Why hope for for just one religious-type of focus? Hope for aspects of all of them used in equal amounts in harmony. That would be a good show and a good way to promote coexistence and harmony among the world and it's people.

"Demon" has different connotations in Japan. They aren't necessarily evil or from hell, they're just weird magical creatures.

My guess is that we're going to get mythical Japanese creatures, like kappa/tanuki/tengu/kitsune, infused with some sort of technology -- which would align pretty well with the existing rumors.

It’s not demons. Why the hell is everybody acting like it has to be demons? Google Translate is a terrible translator. Were the Majin in Majiranger demons? For crying out loud, 魔 is the first half of the Japanese word for magic itself and there’s a lot of Japanese fantasy media talks about “holy magic,” which if you’re so insistent that you’re supposed to be reading that character as demon, even when it’s not being used in that context, would make the concept of holy magic about as rational as saying a rainy desert. You also have MAJIN Buu, who is about as “traditionally demonic” as Goten is.

I am near certain that you were not supposed to be reading it as demon so much is you are supposed to read it as magic. Especially when you have it as others have pointed out, the potential for it to be a pun meaning machine and majin. You know, like the giant robot thing from Zi-O. Because I don’t think a transforming space bike with a clock for a face is a demon found in any sort of grimoire.

I don't think it will be a demon-themed sentai, would be more like a mash up between Go-onger and Go-busters. It's just our imagination.

This is def something new. I think this will have some stuff like Demon Slayer, goth like anime in it. This will be the first Sentai to have a female black ranger since it has demons in the title it just fits in with the theme. I looking forward to see more of this soon sound promising.

and Kyouryuuger(ok that one there was no denying the dinosaur thing cause its litterally dinosaur ranger)

I mean I get why people were hoping and such Knight Dragon squadron Dragonsoulger sounds dragon enough... and I recall seeing some people going "It said Ryu not Kyouryu" but I point those people to Bakuryuu- it says Ryuu not Bakukyouryuu"

So yeah Right now it can go any number of ways for the aspect. Of course its fun to try and speculate. For all we know we could still get a sports themed one (yes Shiny would be a better descriptive for medals than glittering but ohwell) Maybe the team are former athletes who were injured and all made deals with Demons/wished with a genie whatever have you to be able to compete yet again. Of course be careful what you wish for, self serving wishes accidentally unleash evil into the world and they are forced to become Kirameiger to stop them.

Honestly if the title was something like Rainbow Squadron Crystalger we could expect crystal themed rangers Ruby, Diamond etc.. Mecha wise we'd be totally clueless of course. Jyuken and some of the other past sentai titles at least gave us some idea as what to expect. Sadly just as many don't really give us muchto work with.

The thing with speculating about Ryusoulger at the time though was that it was clear we were getting something medieval or medieval-adjacent. And the most obvious/relevant assumption we could make with knights and reptiles based on the word kishiryu were dragons which was why probably a number of us and myself included was hyped at the possibility we finally could get an all-dragon team. Of course, in the end we got dino knights with medieval duplo robots and is essentially what Hurricanger was to Liveman, which I gotta say so far turned out to be a decent show in my opinion with a bit of Gingaman on the side.
As for the sports thing, even if it does not have any sports element I would not be surprised if they went Red-Blue-Yellow-Black-Green again because Olympics.

We already had female yellow, white, blue, silver, red, violet, and green rangers so yes, about time we got a female black ranger. Oh yeah, and a gold ranger for a split second in the Dekaranger movie, which still counts in my opinion.

And again, "demon" in this context more than likely refers to general magical creatures rather than the dark, evil spirits we think of as demons in the west. Think cute Digimon/Pokemon-type creatures, but with a distinctly Japanese flair.

If this show was aiming for "demons" in the western sense, then they would have used "akuma" or "shinigami" or something like that. There's no way on Earth a modern sentai show would ever dip into something that dark for their heroes' powers -- especially when the show is called freaking Glitter-Mage-er. Does "glitter" sound remotely dark to anyone???

I’m hoping it’s demons, that would be a really sick motif, I’m always a fan of twisting a narrative like that. Plus, hey, we could have them crossover with Goseiger, it would work perfect.

i have a feeling that some will gang up on me for saying this but, geez people. i get that everyone and their grandmother think that demon slayer is the greatest anime ever, but could we please tone down the speculations about whether or not will it come into play for the next year sentai. if yo-kai watch, a fellow kids franchise owned by bandai at that, was never able to convince toei to try and base of a sentai season off youkais, i don't see why an anime produced by another company targeted at older demographic is.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who mentioned that anime here and it was in jest as I've yet to actually read or watch it

I think those wishing for a dark sentai are going to be disappointed. What was the last "dark" sentai that comes to mind? I honestly can't think of any.

I'm not really into Kamen Rider, but how different is the new show with the neon green bug dude compared to the previous rider show? That's probably the margin to base a new Reiwa sentai on.

The glitter stuff has me a bit worried, since we just got that with Kyuuranger. Like others, i'm really hoping for a magic-fueled machines sentai. Something like Visionaries would be ridiculously amazing.

Well the fashion part of the show should have something in it. I mean take a look at madam noir from toqger she had a goth look in a way. It has to be magical is some way but the demon part meaning is similar to mashin chaser from drive. The majin part is what I talking about machine vs demons could be about what this Sentai is.

Serious does not mean dark. Almost all Sentai shows have serious elements.

Go-Busters is marginally more serious than some other recent Sentai series, but it still features a lead character who is comically paralyzed by the sight of chickens. That is... the opposite of dark.

I don't think will be demons this time because what's kind of villains a demon-themed sentai could fight ? another demons ?

My guess is that they'll either fight other demons, ala Akuamizer 3, or 'angels' or angel-like beings, ala Evangelion.

Either way, I can see the more religious parents in Japan getting worked up over this.

But in the end, Kirameiger wouldn't be what's everyone was expecting.

I noticed especially with RyuSoulger we've been jumping into some serious conclusions. Let's not do that this year, okay? Let's just take our time.
