I'm reminded of how in early Ghost, the horns were the main identifying feature of the Riders, so the first time Eyecons were swapped, with Specter using Edison, he had the parka and his two horns.

But the way they made the suits meant they had to make a unique face-plate every time they did that, so they gave up and from then on, the horns just carried over from whatever form the Eyecon was 'supposed' to belong to.

It's not too big of a deal since at this stage of the show, the writers can just explain it away by saying something like "the swords used by Buster, Kenzan, and others are much older, thus they can't utilze the power of two books the same way the SworDrivers can."

Honestly, this issue in itself reminds me of Zero One with Horobi having the Amazing Hercules ProgRise key, or Yua having the Freezing Bear key, only to use the keys for finishers rather than new forms since there wasn't any toys of them in those forms.

Yeah Buster doesn't use the same driver. His belt and sword look like it can only hold one book at a time.

It's a deathflag for Buster. He will stay not long in this series.

A Dad who is a Rider died after protecting his son --> this will be a good story.

The CGI is way too much; its distracting from being able to see whats actually going on with the finishers; the OP is horrendously unfitting and the narrator feels like something out of a preschool show. THIS is why the writer for ghost and the producer should have been blacklisted from kamen rider, they clearly cannot write a damn thing.

I’ll break down the problems with your complaints.

* yes, the song that goes “The Saber in your hand is a pen to write it down” doesn’t fit with a show about swords and books that is based on the bungou/kengou wordplay.

* in what way is having an onscreen narrator out of a children’s show? There are plenty of adult-oriented shows with onscreen narration. If your reasoning is his pink hair, then that’s as childish as you’re claiming it is.

Its impossible to tell whats happening because theres like, eight million things on screen, this complaint is mostly regarding the rider kicks.
The song lyrics are not a problem; the tone of it is.
The narrator is a screechy annoying piece of crap that doesn't need to be there.

They're drop-kicking monsters; I don’t think the CG effects obscure that really.

A whimsical and lighthearted J-pop tune for a whimsical and lighthearted Japanese show makes sense to me.

How fitting, considering that’s probably also Kamen Rider's biggest audience aside from elementary school kids.

Yeah I was gonna say regarding the Rider Kicks, I feel like that's the easiest part to follow out of everything even if they do have CG attached to them.

my current guess is the former Saber's Calibur but I'm not too sure about that. Honestly think it's more likely that Calibur killed former Saber, but the reason that's my guess to Calibur's identity is because a new character who just randomly shows up wouldn't need to be wearing a mask and what not (That would be a HELL of a twist if Tassel was Calibur)

I like Tassel. He’s my favorite thing about this show so far to be honest. A rather simple and overly joyous character who is apparently way more meaningful to the world around him than one would assume.

I would laugh (but in a kinda sad way) if Tassel just remained as only the narrator and nothing else for the whole show.

I get that it's supposed to be someone telling the story that is Kamen Rider Saber to the audience, in order to drive home the book theme, but for me it comes off as distractingly surreal. He's no Woz, I'll say that much!

Tassel's either gonna be the final villain, or he's gonna give Touma his final form, calling it now.

Guess who just watched Episodes 1 and 2 back to back? Guess who feels like they just went on a rollercoaster, because wow was that fast. Episode 1, yeah, that was to be expected, but then Episode 2 just kept it going, and I'm wondering how long till this show gives our characters some space to breathe! Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it so far, even if I feel like I'm not getting some of the details, like 'Who the Meggido are' or 'Book hands doing what?', but hopefully someone will either come along and tell me, or a future episode will enlighten me.

EDIT - The fact that we saw one of the Meggido being created in Episode 1 from a book and I'd already forgotten is probably a sign of how much *stuff* we had thrown at us. Wow.

What's the reason for Tassel?

Simple, an isolated character they can do whatever they want with to fill in time at the beginning and ending because of Covid. I'm pretty sure that's why the Eyecatches were brought back too. He's just the narrator given physical tangible form.

If anything I'd relate him to Stalker from G Gundam, yes that's his name.

I swore up and down that Azu was just a thing for a clip show, so I'm not making any predictions this time.

It's hilarious to me that Diago Speedy, the special sacred book that only Saber can use, looks more like a modern motorcycle magazine than some ancient sacred text XD

There was a lot of CGI in this episode, true, and I hope it doesn't become the new normal, but I'm okay with some CGI if it allows for more bike action and stunts that would be unsafe/impossible to do physically. Cross your fingers, maybe these Riders will actually live up to that part of their title!

And the physical fight scene we got was pretty cool, I like Saber and Blades's stylish swordsmanship.

For now he seems to be just the narrator, but I would not be surprised if they suddenly turned him into DJ Sagara starting next January.

He does smell like a DJ Sagara. He tells you his "story", based on a secluded part of the "book world". My imagination tells me he's trying to stir the story his way so that when the viewers see him forcing the story flow, we have accepted that he is the real driver of the series.

Since this is a book themed series, it would be a complete disservice if Woz didn't appear in any of the eps or movies lol.

In the end credits dancing sequence, I think Mei is holding a wonder ride book. Do you think she will get that in the show? I doubt the show will make her a rider.

At the very least, Woz would be a great candidate for a Legend Ridebook.

Covid and public bikes laws plus rush filming schedule since they're clearly afarid of another lockdown affecting sales and profits, they rely more on green screen and indoor set for elaborate fights. It's easy and cheaper to use bad cgi since they don't have the time to polish them like the mvoies. 01 have to sped up ark and gai arc and change 02 to shift focus on ark01.

It's def getting out of hands over the top . I'm curious if they're pushing more toys to hopefully recoup selling more pb and regular dx currently in case they can't air in the future under if not another lockdown in the winter if covid worsen. I imagine 01 sales for last q hit hard with 3 new keys during the last two episodes. We're getting 4 riders already. Kenzan and calibar makes 6. If its rumors for 6, then the engineer guy might become one instead of being a supporting billy character. Unless buster got try d flag and get replaced, idk we haven't gotten a huge battle royale and was a miss opportunity with past seasons like 01 when there was potential for 4v4 at one point. There's too much villains to balance 3+1 potential antihero/traitor . I don't expect them all to get a whole lot development or screen time. One of them is from Hawaii and very active adv for saber on twitter via english tweets. They seem like the aura/uhr this year especially if they're not riders or rider like.
