I think the fun part about this show is as toys slow down, they can juggle characters for plots and stuff.

So hopefully we get some weird combinations from time to time.

They're off fighting the Megido in America, duh.

(Non-snarky answer, I think they've been investigating the circumstances going the Meggid, and looking for hints regarding Calibur's goals, Kento's dad's betrayal, and generaly off doing stuff so they can rock up in 1- episodes and move the plot along some more.)

Yeah, I'm more than fine with having the sub-Riders rotate in and out of focus Kabuto style to keep the main trio in the spotlight. It's a simple and effective way to handle a huge cast of Riders, and that time away often just makes it that much more exciting when someone comes back from vacation. I'd rather Buster get like, 10 episodes of the show where he gets to be insanely cool and prominent than 40 where he mostly stands around silently in group shots and serves as filler in fight scenes.

I mean, more likely it'll be around 20~30 episodes where he's merely pretty cool and mostly holds his own in fight scenes, but you get my point. I'd rather have the Riders only be around when the writers really have something to do with them.

That's something I'm really hoping for too! I haven't really said much about Saber after catching up with it, because it's easily the most toypocalpyse season yet; and not only that, but Zero-One's belt issue has only gotten worse here, so it's been very difficult to get character moments early on that even Zero-One was really good at. But now that we've gotten past that early segment of Fukuda desperately having to pen something in for each new Book and Belt and character alongside actually trying to write his story, I'm excited for Saber to truly pick up as he's able to do with each character as he wants.

Like, with Ogami and Ren in particular; it felt like they were being introduced as main cast members especially with their New Toy status... but from the last few episodes it's clearly they actually act a lot more like recurring cast members; the extra SoL members that are often off doing other stuff. These last two episodes feel like the first time we've truly gotten our 'core' dynamic -- the three Swordriver users and Daishinji, and it's strong. Despite... everything to do with Slash, his being built up as a character and the way he hauls everyone out of danger gives off a great vibe of being the mentor to our main Riders, who are all still growing together. I think once we get to the meat of Rintarou and Kento's development this is going to start being a strong season.

As I think I've said before, I really like the vibe the Sword of Logos gives off as a group. Saber is obviously the main Rider, by virtue of his name being in the title, but Rintaro and Kento both feel like established Riders on their own merit (Helped by them all getting their triple book forms very close to each other and Blades's (!) feeling the most climactic), and having Buster and Kenzan around as back-up members in the sense of "busy doing other things" rather than "the guys who job every five minutes" makes both the other Riders feel more important despite being there less, and gives the world a little more depth. Add Slash into that to balance out the core three's bond with his distance and more mentor-like roll, to steal entirely from Kurona, and basically what I'm saying is that I love this shot in the OP.

Slash being the guy who repairs their swords already makes him vitally important even if his screen time diminishes.

Touma needs his own SOL jacket, I swear.

One thing I really love about the SOL outfits is how they're similar enough to clearly be part of a group while still having enough uniqueness to fit each member's individual style. But please, dear gods of the costuming department, let Touma's SOL coat be more stylish than his normal clothes, I swear I haven't seen a main rider with this dorky a fashion sense since Eiji Hino! And I mean, Eiji pulled it off well, and it does fit Touma's character, I just want to see him in something... cooler.

Every time I watch more of this series, I get flashbacks of others all meshed together. It's not bad. It's just.....a tad overloading to my senses.

Also, I guess I wasn't expecting such a large Rider cast, but it's at least a way to branch out all the books (read: toys) in a way that doesn't overkill one character to not use a power up. Except the bike. The bike we'll only see one more time I'm sure.

I think his best look, for now, was the one he was using when he went to Avalon. The latest one with the baggy pants was too similar to Sougo's in the earliest episodes of Zi-O.

I think Sougo's fashion sense is pretty unremarkable. Touma, Shoutarou and Mondo wear hats. Takeru wears a sakura jacket. Shinnosuke wears a tie. Geiz wears a collar. Compared to those guys, does Sougo really have anything iconic about his outfit?

I think Buster and Kenzan situation will be similar to Horobi. They are doesn't really need super upgrade in the most episodes but they can become stronger in their default forms.

I notice he wears a lot of collared shirts.

Personally I think Ryotaro/Den-O and Kouta/Gaim's wardrobe is the best.

I like Philip's. It's completely disastrous but in a way that loops around to being perfect.
