Wouldn’t be surprised if it scaled close to the original DX Grand Liner/Supertrain Megazord |
I think it wouldn't be much more than Grand Liner. It's surprising they managed to pull that off honestly and a lot of people of course weren't willing to pay the hefty price for it
|
I really really doubt that if they made a Super Minipla Daijinryuu it would be to scale. It just wouldn’t be feasible.
|
Just so as a frame of reference, Daijinryu is 500 meters during flight mode, about 1640 feet in length, and 345 meters when standing, almost 1132 feet in height.

A 1/500 could be feasible I think though which will make it a meter. |

A meter is too tall for me lol. I want it no larger than a PG kit.

Wow that looks amazing!
At a base level, the increased articulation from minipla kits really make the Sentai Robos pose a lot better, but here the tweaks to the proportion of parts make GaoKing look super fresh. It's a lot more apparent on the more organic shaped robos like GaoKing. |
By the way, have we seen any of the Zenkaiger Minipla yet?
Aren't they coming out very soon? |

Okay, so this looks really cool, and I kinda want it a little, but I've never gotten something like this before.
I know these are model kits, but what else do I need to know about Minipla before I decide if I should get one? How much do they cost, how good you need to be at model kits, etc. |

But the kits are extraordinary and often become elusive collector's items. They have articulation that DX toys can only dream of, while maintaining excellent combination gimmicks. You don't need much experience with model kits in order to make these kits. Bandai model kits are generally very beginner friendly. In fact, you really only need a decent pair of nippers and you're good to go. There's no glue required. However, some minipla kits, depending on the design have really small parts that you either could lose easily or break if you're not careful. For example, the Dancouga minipla kit uses a lot of thin and long gun barrels. The Kiramager minipla kit had tiny wheels. |
The individual mechs all look awesome, but something about the combined form just seems a bit...off...
Anyways, I've never watched Gaoranger and I'm not particularly fond of its design, so I'll be skipping this one. |
I was curious if they'd keep the wheels on the Bison. Looks like that worthless extra mode will be included :lol

The proportions are usually different from the suits (because the suit proportions are designed for a human to wear, not proper scale) but it's more noticeable than usual for me.

I like the way the skinny legs look. It reminds me of 80s super robots.

For reference here is the original drawing Gaoking is based on https://i.redd.it/xqwllq0k4bz41.jpg
Which I believe was designed by Katsushi Murakami? I think Sentai Minipla mostly takes after the DX looks, just modernized with more articulation. I'm interested to see what if any metallic or plated parts we get with this one. Also one of the things I like about Minipla are the bigger heads. Heads are always so tiny on DX toys so they fit cleanly into transformations. Minipla usually includes 2 heads: one that fits into the transformation, and a bigger one you attach separately that looks much closer to the shows. |
Well I'm damn excited now

The day Bandai releasese Gao Peacock, Gao Stingray, Gao Horse, and Gao Mouse but as those bouncy balls that have figures inside they get bonus points for being overachievers. :lolol

Okay, I don’t know Gaoranger like, at all. Anyone know (or have a guess on) how many are considered “main” Power Animals?
Also I’m confused by “single mech rather than individual animals” ... wouldn’t an individual animal be a single mech? Or do they mean they’ll come in sets of 5 or so that each form different combined forms? |

The original Gaoranger Minipla released back in 2001 had the Power Animals released in sets
https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki...yline)#Minipla I imagine they will do the same here. The packout will probably be similar to Kiramager's auxiliary mecha which came as all 5 to a set individually boxed. |

I'm not getting it because I never watched the series, but I seriously reconsidered for a second. However, I can't be the only one who's disappointed that the video showed more CGI than the actual kit, right? |

They're making ALL of them? As in all 24 animals?
That's making it really hard to not want this. |
I really loved this show, and I'd really love to get into this, but, lol, I have an actual massive box of assorted Gaoranger toys under my bed from the first time around, so it feels a little decadent to splash out on this.
