Got an Entry Grade Zero-One Rising Hopper Kit and an HGUC RX-78-2 Kit today! Each was roughly $13 at Game-X-Change.
For those who aren't familiar with that store name, they deal in movies, games, older comics, and collectibles; the "buy, sell, and trade" model. |
Super sweet haul of some 90's and modern toku figures and items! Basically a dream come true to have the B-Fighters in hand!

My word... he may be old but that SHF J still looks beautiful. Where'd you get him; from what I'd seen he drives a high price these days?
|
Wow Blades looks like a giant. And yeah that J holds up!
I have the B-Fighter figures too and they are probably my favorite figures in my entire collection. |
This week's hauls. Zenkaiger Minipla and SHF Nick Fury from AmiAmi. First McFarlance DC figures from TRU, definitely most excited for Devastator. Also, my first Amiibo was an impulse purchase but I have been enjoying MHRise a lot lately.

I think the only apparent drawbacks I've noticed are ZO's shoulder pads looking awkward in some poses because of their connection to the torso's shoulder area rather than the arms and J's ankles being a bit hindered. Outside of that, both them and Shin still hold up extremely well. |
When it comes to replacing for me, its usually just the fact that the older SHF are slightly out of scale or have some odd proportions. My SHF Mach is suuuper skinny looking when standing next to an SS.

Hit up Daiso when I saw they had display stands for basically 2 bucks a piece.
A single one's basically 3.5 inches wide with each step being about 1.6 inches deep, but they line up together perfectly if you have multiple. I definitely wanna get more since each of my shelves can hold up to 6 of them with a sliver of extra space on each side. Wanna get some more to even out my Showa and Secondary/Tertiary shelves and clean up my Sentai shelf. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EzHk9I7W...jpg&name=large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EzHk9dRX...jpg&name=large |

You can call me VERY jealous of that Showa display; that's downright beautiful! Is Daiso an online shop?
|
Quote:
Daiso has some online offerings but they're primarily brick and mortar. They're a Japanese household goods store that has some locations in the states. |
Daiso is great. They are the Japanese equivalent to the dollar store. Just entire sections of things under 500 yen or so. \
The closest one to me is in Flushing, NY. When it first opened, I picked up some great acrylic display stands for $2 that have since been discontinued. I've never found anything as good and I wish I just bought a dozen of them at the time. |
I'm really hoping I can go back in a week or so and try and scoop up another bunch. I bought the 8 they had on the shelves but I'd want another 10 to make things even across three shelves.

That secondary/tertiary (+Amazons Omega lol) is pretty neat. Jelly of your Grease and Brave. Love the Showa display, too! I don't see Shin often in some collections I see, and pretty neat to also have Supaidaman there!
Geed is just there, too, I guess XD |
Well today I just got my own copy of Zenkaiger Geartlinger and Zenkai Buckle, It's super special because it's my first ever Sentai Changer!

Part 2 is a steaming pile of crap that no one should subject themselves to. Part 3 is just okay. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...ab&oe=60A36C6F SHF Fused Zamasu. My favorite villain from DBS. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...ac&oe=60A2DDDE GSC's' Primal Accepter. Haven't played with it yet, but I'm excited to see how it works! https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...f5&oe=60A4E0A9 SHF Bardock, one of my favorite characters in Dragon Ball. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...5f&oe=60A4822F Wind effects for photo ideas I had. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...37&oe=60A37755 Figma DX Twilight Princess Link. Plan to put it on my MK11 Spawn. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...8e&oe=60A2E0CD Red Edition Mandarin Spawn which such a pretty figure in person guys omg. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...ee&oe=60A21191 MAFEX Spider-Verse Miles Morales. Really like it, though I am very curious as to how the upcoming Sen-Ti-Nel release will stack up. https://scontent.fdet3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...b9&oe=60A4A06C SHF Infinity War Doctor Strange. We'll see how the upcoming MAFEX one stacks up, but I am more than happy to stick with this one if I feel the MAFEX one isn't a significant enough upgrade. |

Way way too much stuff mostly from shows I haven’t watched We have here a shotriser, slashriser, neo diendriver, ark driver, raid riser, rampage gatling key, sodo slash (the still wrapped boxes to the left of the rampage Gatling key). Then finally not one but two memorial metsubojinrai sets because I didn’t read a description properly the first time. Edit: also sparkling giraffe which game with dodo/sting scorpion/burning falcon metsubojinrai set. |

Recent stuff I opened! TRANSFORMERS STUDIO SERIES SCOURGE: A much beefier Scourge than I'm used to dealing with (dude is perpetually a Deluxe-class figure, not Voyager-class), but with a predictably simple transformation. Scourge's cape folds up around him, delivering the bar-of-soap spaceship everyone expects. It's a really solid action figure (he's got weight and presence), and sort of fun to play around with. There's no exciting moment to his transformation, but nothing frustrating or compromised. I like him. S.H. FIGUARTS KAMEN RIDER NADESHIKO: Nadeshiko is the rare female Rider, so I'm excited to have a figure of her, but the execution isn't perfect. The neck joint is a little long, giving her a slightly unappealing silhouette (that head looks like an antenna topper). Still! Flawed Nadeshiko is better than No Nadeshiko, and I like owning a Nadeshiko figure. S.H. FIGUARTS ANOTHER AGITO: Much like Gills, I think this suit translates pretty well to toy form. Not my favorite character on the show, despite the best debut of any Rider ever (DOUBLE SURGERIES!), but I didn't pay a lot for him and he looks nice. An okay figure! SHINKOCCHOU SEIHOU MASKED RIDER DEN-O SWORD FORM: I talked about my initial impressions of him in a different thread (not crazy about him), but after a couple more days I'm a little more into it. Took some time to try out the Gun Form form-change, and it's remarkable simply and effective. Nothing I'm going to mess around with regularly, but it allowed for both forms to look good. I still don't love the slightly compromised articulation (there're some Sword Form poses this thing can't quite nail), but I still think the sculpting and paintwork bring a great suit to life. I'm appreciating this figure more every day. SHINKOCCHOU SEIHOU KAMEN RIDER BEAST: I tried for a while to get his hands into his Ready To Eat pose, and I just couldn't do it. His arms can't come in enough, and the provided hands aren't flat enough. That was a total bummer. Once I let that go, I enjoyed what this figure offered. Amazing detailing on his driver and rings, plus an overall premium look to the figure. Happy to have him in the collection! |

Man, I'd pick it up already but dude doesn't take paypal and we're not exactly allowed to go out right now. |

It's a figure that goes for about $65 opened (or $70 sealed) on Mandarake, so $58 is a not-too-amazing discount. If this one seller won't deal with PayPal, you'll have plenty of options down the line to grab it for around the same price. He's not hard to track down for less than retail. |

Got another Mandarake package today. I definitely need to wait a little while before another another one of those, gets expensive. Got another SIC, New Den-O this time, as well as SHF Takeshi Hongo for the Kamen Rider 50th anniversary. Also threw in Transformers Cloud Roadbuster, because I can't resist Unicron Trilogy references. Only unboxed the Rider figures tonight, saving Roadbuster for tomorrow. New Den-O, despite somewhat limited articulation, was pretty easy to get in a good pose, while Hongo resisted my attempts to get him into his Henshin pose, so he's just standing there so far. https://64.media.tumblr.com/ed8d90a7...9261917a90.jpg |

And then you just got a new SIC figure. And you posted about it. Like, minutes after I thought I'd never know anything about SIC figures. This is a sign. Talk to me about SIC figures! Aesthetics aside ('cause those are pretty obvious), how do you find the quality? Are they prone to breakage? Are they sturdy when posed? Do the accessories stay attached? Any big problems that I should be aware of? Tell me what you know! |
Older SIC figures I find tend to be a little more brittle now. But I recall reading somewhere VOL.40 (starting with Den-O I think) and beyond have that problem fixed.
All I know tho. Saw a Putotyra for $60 back then (it's still on sale tho haha) and was tempted but that was before SS OOO was announced and I had troubles thinking of having a larger-than-normal OOO on the shelf. |

EDIT: This is the old and fragile Faiz, which I wouldn't recommend you buy https://img.mandarake.co.jp/webshopi...2000739472.jpg This is the much less breakable new Faiz, who I say go for on a discount. https://img.mandarake.co.jp/webshopi...2014667513.jpg Also Mandarake has a cheap 2020 Kuuga in stock right now, which was my intro to the line. Oh, and there's also the SIC Kiwami Tamashii line of 4 inch figures, but I don't know anything about those. Someone else will have to chime in there |

He also doesn't like standing. Fell over twice while I was getting things set up for this picture. |
