Some fun little tidbits from the press conference:-

- Ruriko's actress named Heisei Generations FINAL as one of her three favourite movies

- Anno stated that his favourite Riders so far are Faiz and Kabuto

The recreated opening is amazing. I love everything about how this looks so far.

I actually recognize Hamabe from a J-drama that aired last year. She worked with Sentai and Rider actors such as Tagasugi Mahiro (Kureshima Mitsuzane), Yuki Kousei (Asaka Keiichirou) and Yokohama Ryusei (Jirou from Fourze)!

That whole trailer is pure genius! I already love this way more than The First.

Much like Shin Ultraman, Kamen Rider is just straight-up the original Ichigo suit, albeit with some extra modern flare. I wasn't expecting them to show the Spider Kaijin, who also looks like an updated Showa suit, which I adore. I'm definitely interested in seeing how they do the leaders of Shocker.

Nice detail, giving Hongo's actor the original's hairstyle. I'm guessing the other will be a psuedo-Tachibana replacement.

Either way, I'm excited for both this and Shin Ultraman!

Okay we got a while to go before the film release but how about some merch! A figuart of this new suit is gonna make me want the other shin tokusatsu figures for a lovely Anno display!

Sad they don't seem to have him be wearing that tarp that we saw him in in the promo art. Still, neat.

Minami Hamabe was Yumeko in the live-action Kakegurui, the show where Kamen Rider Ryugen was pretty much her manservant, Zyuoh Shark was a crazy person with an eyepatch and a gun, and Poppy from Ex-Aid was lacky #2. :lolol

Wow, it took me a second to recognize the differences with how faithful they're being to the original, right down to the suit.

I'm curious how many Kaijin there will be alongside the Spider. Are we going to see any Shocker execs?

Oh my goodness! Kamen Riders doing ACTUAL riding again!

I guess the silver lining of a movie shoot is it might be easier to figure out the logistics and filming of bike scenes that comply with Japanese road laws compared to a weekly show.

Call me crazy, but is Ikematsu singing the opening? If so, then that's a great nod to Fujioka when he sung the original.

Also, clearing up my previous comment on Hamabe's character, I forgot Ruriko was a mainstay, as I only saw the first two episodes.:lol

I have a feeling the trench coat might make an appearance at some point in the film.

I also love the fact that if you compare Shin Godzilla, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider, you can see how faithful he is to the tone and feel of each property. Though I have to admit, Shin Kamen Rider's trailer easily beats Ultraman's.

People keep talking about the suit. I love it too. I love how it's a mixture of the original design and suit from The First/Next. A lovely modernized take on the retro design.

Aside from the hair sticking out of the helmet, looks pretty nice. Recreating the intro was a cool way to promote the film.

Spider man looks pretty nice, too. Always like a costume that lets the suit actor move.

Based on Shin Godzilla and the Shin Ultraman trailer, I think I was expecting it to be a little bit less obviously tokusatsu-looking...but other than that I think it looks great. I love how faithful it is. I'm excited.

I hate to be the Debbie downer but I'm not overly impressed. The teaser intro is too accurate to the source material, to the point of looking cheap and hokey. The costume is technically well-made, but the design is flat and a bit dorky. I wasn't expecting The First-style outfits but I was hoping for a bit more of a modern redesign. The Spider man also looks just silly flipping around for no real reason, though I assume that and the bike stunts are just filmed specifically for this teaser.

I also have no idea what the tone of this is supposed to be. The designs seem a bit darker and more realistic, but then you have that incredibly upbeat theme song and Ichigo just kind of awkwardly having fun on his bike.

It doesn't look bad by any stretch, but I was hoping for a bit more of a modern, interesting take. It's almost literally just the original in HD.

Also, this was announced alongside the W anime and the Black continuation. We've seen Fuuto PI, we've now seen KR Shin, now we just need to see that Black project! :D

I would not be surprised if Anno took this job entirely as an excuse to make these. What a delightfully nerdy way to promote this movie.

I was kind of thinking something similar at first, but I don't think these are scenes from the actual movie, and as such, aren't truly representative of the overall feel of the movie. I see it as a quick teaser designed to get people's attention, show what the suits will look like, and have fun while doing it.

shin Kamen Rider is the same name of the dark version.

I heard rumor that Tetsuo Kurata's son wanted to audition for the Ichigo role in the new movie, but his father prohibited him from doing so. If this is true, then Tetsuo really is a p.o.s.. I mean, we get it, he doesn't like Rider anymore, doesn't mean his son can't take the ride for himself. That's just selfish.

Hey man, rumors and speculation are fun and all, but we should think twice about proliferating rumors that are defamatory to persons and individuals.

Yeah these were clearly just filmed for promotion as the movie still has another year of time in the oven. Personally I like it, I hoped for maybe some more emphasize on Ichigo looking more buglike but the little changes like with the gloves and belt just hit the right spots for me. I believe Shirakura had said this movie may get a worldwide release and if so I *will* see it in tjeatres

There was a single night only showing of Shin Gojira at the local art house theatre here in Chicago, so there is precedence.

I've seen Shin Godzilla in theaters three times. Granted, I do live in LA. Still, seems likely that we'll get this in theaters in some parts of the US.

The theater I worked at ended up getting Shin Godzilla for at least a week from what I recall. And it was like the low end one too that usually doesn't get a lot of exclusives.

Phonetically yes, but in writing, no. The Shin in Anno's Shin Kamen Rider is written in katakana so the context remains ambiguous. Shin Kamen Rider Prologue on the other hand uses 真 which commonly translates to true.

It was in theaters in Buffalo for like a month, but only a few showings per week. That being said, Godzilla is much more popular in the US than Rider.

It does kinda surprise me given what they were going for, yeah! Wonder how they'll slot him into the 'first 13 episodes' thing they're going for. Trying to work out if it's his original or 'new' colours they're using, it's hard to tell...

I can mayyybee see him doing the shocker rider thing early with Nigou, with maybe Takeshi snapping him out of it and then they beat the main bad guy and win.
