It's gonna be Hongo's Half Robot Half Human son taking up his dad's mantle as Kamen Rider. "Revive the Device = Revice"
If only. |

Most my So-Do Stuff is in boxes atm. I'm hoping to take down some of my gunpla though and fill that space with SO-DO. So-Do is one of the main figure lines I collect so I should have enough space? Maybe? |
Not a fan of the name, but eh, we’ll see...

AN IMPORTANT PSA
The trademarks for "Zaking" and "Rydonna" (linked pictures below) people are referring to appear to be fake. Neither of them are actually on @trademark_bot's account (the source for the Revice and all previous trademarks), and all the numbers on both alleged trademarks are identical to the Revice trademark numbers, including the trademark number as far as I can tell, so I'm very confident these are fake https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...12_Twitter.jpg https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...18_Twitter.jpg |

Apparently Revice is Dinosaur themed, and is an ‘odd colour’, like Ex-Aid. He also has a classic ‘crusher’ style mouth. Second rider is partly Orange. Gimmick item seems to be stamps? All this from extremely reliable Toku source, Crane Joe, so it’s legit |
Dinosaur stamps? Is this series gonna take place in a museum or something?

What's a 'crusher' style mouth?

Summary of Rumours
A QUICK SUMMARY OF THE MAJOR RELIABLE RUMOURS
Here's a summary of all the rumours floating around that seem to have originated from a "trustworthy" source. As these appear to have come from Cranejoe (an extremely reliable leaker) some people consider this to all be basically confirmed, however I'd still say it's wise to take everything as a grain of salt rumour until we know more, expectations are the thief of joy afterall. POTENTIAL SPOILERS IF RUMOURS ARE TRUE: Cranejoe Rumours: -The motif is dinosaurs. -Main Rider has red compound eyes, a white mouth in the "crusher" style with a black outline ["Crusher" = Ichigo/Gaim style mouths], a V shape antenna on the forehead. Body colour is a mix of orange, green and purple. -The belt is basically light green, with the left side containing a gimmick item, while and the right side of the belt contains a display. -The gimmick items look like a stamp, said to be similar to stamps you would see at tourist spots in japan, but quite large. -Secondary Rider is mostly black in colour with orange mixed in. His forehead has what looks like an open dinosaur mouth on it. He has light green compound eyes peaking through the dinosaur face. Has no belt, just a plain buckle. -Two riders (possibly talking about the main and secondary but it's unclear) have symbols on the left side of their chests, but the symbols are "opposite" to each other. -Apparently both of these Riders will act as the Main Rider for the series (hitori de futari no raidā). They point out that is in contrast to Kamen Rider W. Basically both Revice and the "Secondary" are both main riders, what this means exactly is unclear. [The term used by leakers "hitori de futari no raidā" seems to mean roughly "One-in-two riders" or "One rider in two" this is in direct contrast to Kamen Rider W's concept of the "two-in-one rider"] Then we have two rumours where I am not sure if they are from Cranejoe or not, but I've seen shared by people who basically always call things correctly: -Rumour has it that Shogo Mutou (Kamen Rider Build's writer), will write the series. While the Chief Producer is rumoured to be Takahito Omori (Chief Producer for Drive, Ex-Aid, Build, and Zero-One). [May simply be speculation based on likelihood] -Revice will have an early appearance cameo in the summer movies. [May simply be speculation based on likelihood] __________________________________________ EDIT: The last rumour from the first section was originally mistranslated as "the show may only have two riders like in W", then to "They are two in one riders". This how now been corrected, sorry I am not a translator. |
They finally did it... A dinosaur themed Rider, assuming this is indeed true. I'll reserve judgement for the official reveal, but color me intrigued. Funny how we're getting a Dino Rider before our, possible, Ninja Rider Shinobi.
Dino Stamps? Sounds about right, and can definitely see that. Very clever. Two main Riders? Maybe they're going the R/B route? Of course, Saber and Blades were advertised heavily during the early stages of Saber, same with Zi-O and Geiz, so that might be what they're referring to. |

Purely speculating on my part but it makes me wonder if the show will basically be two different narratives split across the two riders, that intersect or overlap at points? Or maybe it'll really be an inverse double where one person splits into two riders? Right now it's too soon to tell lol, but I'd hope if it was a feature worth calling attention to that it'll be smth special |
If this becomes a reality, I want an ultimate team up with Revice, Saber AND Zero-One!!!! All riders together!!!

With that being said, I really wonder how that'd work. Maybe something along the lines of what Kiva was doing? With the whole dinosaur motif, I could totally see us having a main character from the past, and one from the present. However, if it's more of a Mighty Brothers XX situation where both Riders are the same character, I really have no idea how they'd go about it. It sounds like they're trying something new, so whatever the case, I'm really excited. |

The main rider has a crusher jaw, so I'm betting he'd be a bug-styled rider. Hopefully, a beetle. In terms of production, I believe Muto being a writer is a rumor because of 5ch making speculations as well, but that depends since maybe he's still working on the Build novel. Omori is also a rumor, but very likely since Shirakura is busy with Zenkaiger. |
Dinosaurs and stamps. Awesome.
|
so with the writer being Build's, I hope to see the two riders have a great friendship bond like Build and Cross-Z, i miss Team Build.
xD also dinosaur-themed...is a main rider going to be perma-die…(I blame sentai dino teams for making feel this way...) |
There were rumors a long time ago about the first Reiwa rider series being 2 riders, a boy and a girl duo. I still want to see that.
|
While I wouldn't mind seeing Mutou again, I'd also love to see Riku Sanjo, Yasuko Kobayashi, or Kazuki Nakashima take a crack at writing for Rider again.
I know they've got their own projects rn, but didn't Urobuchi write Gaim and another show simultaneously? |
Of all previous writers, I do like the idea of Mutuo the most since he's only written the one Rider show and nothing else -- in addition, not only was it extremely good; it's also the closest Rider has been to its original themes in a long time. So I'd trust someone like that on the 50th!
... buuuut. We're now three series into this 'fresh new era' and all the head writers have previously been on late heisei era seasons. Can we get some new guys for Reiwa, already? |

Personally I'd say, even rumours aside, process of elimination leaves Muto as the most likely imo, a lot of past writers are busy or haven't shown interest in returning in the past and Build was quite well received over all, it alsio matches their trend of using fairly recent writers for early Reiwa.
I would like to see some new writers, but honestly Mutou would be one of my top picks, I've also always wanted to see Junko Komura head write a series, I like a lot of her episodes in Wizard, and Wizard in Magic Land is still one of my favourite rider movies, but obviously she's busy with Zenkaiger so it won't be her this year. If I were to place bets on likelihood I'd say from most likely to least likely 1. Motou (Build) or a brand new writer [either seems equally likely to me] 2. Sanjo (W/Drive) [popular writer and its been a while] 3. Takahashi (Ex-Aid/Zero-One), [this one's a really odd guess but I feel like toei is really into this guy, he got 2 series just 3 years apart, I feel like he could be the new Inoue, getting brought back constantly] 4. Shōji Yonemura (Kabuto) [This is my dark horse bet, totally a gut feeling and not much else. He's written for Toei as recently as 2020 on Pretty Den-O, and I think he could bring in that original hesei tone while not going toooo dark, just to change things up a bit after saber went very whimsical and light hearted] While there are others I wouldn't be shocked to see return these are my bets lol |
What would be the best dinosaurs to choose for the upcoming riders? Ceratosaurus could be used to make a general based off of WarGreymon!
|
I'd be thrilled to see Muto again. I feel more than any other recent writer, he understood Kamen Rider. He'd be a great fit for the 50th. I feel like he could make a show that felt like an anniversary season without relying on tons of cameos, instead being a celebration of the core themes of the franchise like Build was.

Even if right now it's probably the least reliable of all the rumours it's also the one I'm most hoping is true if I'm being honest. I think he'd be a great choice for a duo based series, if you ask me Sento and Banjo have some of the best chemistry of any set of riders in a good while. And alternatively, with Takumi Katsuragi's whole deal I also think he might be able to play around well with "one person becoming two separate entities" concept if that's how they handle the dual main riders thing. The whole inverted W concept tho does make me think they may have Sanjo (W/Drive) return to write, just to play up that he's inverting his old thing, but, I'd still put Mutou ahead in likelihood, but maybe I'm being biased. |

Super Sentai must be doing worse in sales than I thought if Toei's giving the series' most popular theme to their real cash cow.

2. I have a gut feeling Sanjo is going to be adapting Fuuto P.I. himself. 3. Takahashi is possible, especially since it's announced he's not coming back for the next season of Lupin III. 4. Yonemura is fully committed as the head writer of both One Piece and Pokemon Journeys. |

Sanjo might handle P.I. himself that's true.... Then I'll adjust my guesses to: 1. Mutou (Build), or someone new I still feel like they might do a new writer. If I were to make a total shot in the dark guess I'd say Hiroki Uchida who was a two episode guest writer for Saber, might have been to test the waters, see what audiences thought? Yeah no, I doubt it, but I gotta have at least some wild guesses still 2. Takahashi (Ex-Aid/Zero-One) Toei seems to just love this guy, and I liked both his shows a lot, I know ex-aid is a bit divisive, but I like his over the top and stylized vibe 3. Another Fukuda (Saber/Ghost) situation Not literally Fukuda, what I mean is Fukuda is a writer I did not think would ever get a second series, even though I honestly like Ghost, it just had too many problems so I didn't expect him to come back. They could toss in a total curveball and give us the last person we'd expect. Maybe Kento Shimoyama (Zi-O), or Tsuyoshi Kida (Hibiki/Wizard)? Or maybe neither, but just a weird "Huh, who could have predicted that?" style choice. I think this option would probably be a huge mistake, I just think it's a possible huge mistake for Toei. This is probably my last really wild guess. Is Inoue busy these days? He did work on a couple episodes of Zi-O, and he did the very recent Zi-O specials.... Still I just doubt his return too much for him to make my list, but it did cross my mind so I thought I might as well mention it. |

Here's a full translation of everything Cranejo said about Revice during his livestream:
https://www.reddit.com/r/KamenRider/...eb2x&context=3 A lot more descript than it was initially described. Revice's colors definitely sound a lot better now, in my head I was picturing a neon green and not an emerald. Really glad we're getting a smaller driver, although I'm not sure how I feel about the gimmick being so huge, usually that type of size is reserved for upgrades |
I don't have a problem with Muto being Revice's writer, but my personal choice is Yasuko Kobayashi but knowing she was busy with JoJo (she was the main writer of JoJo part 4 & 5 and likely will be the main writer for Stone Ocean too) and seem unlikely to back
|
I'm gonna say that Kobayashi is probably unlikely to come back in general as the lead writer? I wouldn't be overly surprised to see her work on an episode or two or some spin-off miniseries like Inoue, but when she wrote Toqger she did state that was intended as her last work on Sentai. While that of course is Sentai and not Rider, I think it points towards a desire to move on from Masked Hero Toku in general; which I'm not too surprised at given the wealth of material she's contributed to it!
(She did write Amazons after Toqger, but I think that's actually evidence in support of this rather than against it; given how drastically different it is thematically and demographically compared to your Den-O or your Go-Busters) |

In general as other people have said I don't feel like she'll be returning to weekly toku anytime soon. Honestly writing the majority of a 45-50 episode long show in the span of just one year sounds absurdly difficult, so despite Kobayashi being genuinely my favourite tokusatsu writer of all time, and how badly I want a new series from her...... I just don't see her coming back. Maybe she'll do another season formatted series like Amazons or something Garo related again someday... And you never know weird things can happen maybe we'll see her return to weekly rider to provide another masterpiece, but realistically I just don't see her coming back to show-run a year-long series with weekly episodes again, and I can't blame her, writing a rider or sentai series seems incredibly challenging. (Also just as an aside I believe her most recent work with Toei is supervising the script for pretty Den-O, though she did not write it. This isn't super relevant but people here are talking about what she's done for Toei recently, and that is the most recent) Quote:
