Apparantly where going to get the entiity of W on Toei Tokusatsu to celebrate Fuuto PI. |

I hope that they'll transform, but maybe they won't? The title certainly would seem to suggest that maybe it's not a Kamen Rider show at all, just sharing a setting and characters. |

From what I've seen of the manga it's still effectively Kamen Rider Double with them transforming and fighting Dopants as frequently as they did in the show.

W's gonna show up, I don't get how that's debatable.
The PV literally ends with the transformation stand-by sounds. They're building up the reveal. Like with most anime trailers, this is essentially just the teaser. We'll get another closer to the air date that'll get more into what the premise of the story will be, we'll no doubt see W scenes, we'll hear what the OP sounds like, etc. |
I'm just excited that we might get to see Fang/Trigger!
|
Everything looks great so far! As expected, the Memory of Heroez voices are taking the lead, which I'm perfectly happy with.
I see some people are worrying about the possibility of W himself being CG, though I'd like to believe W is simple enough to not need to be CG for more than possibly super-dynamic scenes. Though, so long as the CG isn't something like Ex-Arm levels of bad, I'll be fine. |
Series begins August 1st.
The new theme song is composed by Kouji Kikkawa (Sokichi Narumi/Kamen Rider Skull). Mitsuru Matsuoka (Eternal) will perform. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...visual/.185284 Crunchyroll has also confirmed they will carry the series. https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-ne...r_twitter_news |

I'm ready to see some actual Kamen Riders... |

I'm still worried they're going to make W CGI... |
plot twist, we spent the entire season of them not transforming into w, only for them to transform in the literal last scene of the last episode for the stinger

I feel like at this point people should just expect the CGI. Cause like
stares at shows like Tiger & Bunny, GARO's anime, Gridman Universe, ULTRAMAN, etc... If it's an armored hero or like mecha, it's more than likely going to happen. Especially given the bike is CG as well. Though I'm confident the CG will likely be good regardless. Having seen a lot more anime using CGI assets and them being good, makes me feel like people have just gotten burned by bad usage of CGI and that's it. And that's like understandable, but like... CGI isn't automatically bad because there are good examples and usages of it. But yeah no, W and the Dopants are likely going to be CGI and I'll be pleasantly shocked if they aren't. |

The CG and lack of W worries are pretty unfounded right now.
As stated, CG in anime has only gotten better over time. If they use any CG for this, and that alone is also an assumption and not really confirmed considering we literally have no footage showing otherwise, I highly doubt it'll look bad. As for the lack of W in-suit, I could care less. I enjoy Kamen Rider for more than just the monster fights. Following Shotarou and Philip on more in-depth mysteries and character arcs that pick up beyond the series is what I'm most interested in. W and Accel appearing is obvious, but having the promotions being very out-of-suit focused is pretty smart cause these characters are WHY we like these masked heroes in the first place. |
I get that CG is pretty common now and has come a long way...and a lot of toku animes and tokusatsu-esque shows have used it (Tiger & Bunny, Garo, Gridman Universe, Shikizakura, etc), it's not so much that I'm anti-CG so much as I feel like mixed in with the anime designs a CG W would look kind of out of place. And I feel like the Riders in 2D would look really, really, cool.
Although I guess it's going to be interesting to see how they emphasize the Rider content versus the human detective stuff that they've been leaning into for most of the promotional material so far. Not that I don't love more Shotaro and Philip, but I feel like it would be waste of what is basically the first fully-fledged Kamen Rider anime to not feature solid Kamen Rider action. |
No matter what, Revolgary is sure to look better than it ever has.

And while CGI in anime overall has gotten a lot better it is still shit if there's no talent or effort behind it. Not every studio is Kamikaze Doga. I look at the CGI White Snake in JoJo's Part 6 and cringe. (even if it was mercifully minimal in use) Also so far the animation hasn't blown me away. It's very pretty, but there's not a ton of outrageous movement that's convincing me it's super high quality. They could cut corners when it comes to action. It's also worth pointing out that all this is just me bracing myself for the worst, not necessarily expecting it or saying it will be. Hopefully I could be wrong and they're just saving all the money shots as these trailers tend to, but caution never hurt anyone. Just means I'll be even more impressed if it's not. :D |
Since I’ve watched Kamen Rider W in its entirety sometime ago plus the spin-offs related to the series, I can officially say that I’m definitely prepared for the anime sequel that’s coming out later this year.
|
Speaking personally, I wouldn't expect anything too high-fidelity when it comes to the animation to begin with. An adaptation of a manga that's based on a fairly old children's toku show is quite a few levels of niche, so I don't think its going to be a big priority kind of work.
That said, while I'm expecting CG for any action scenes, I'm envisioning the shift to feel more natural by adding to how dramatic the transformation into W feels. Then again, I think my anime standards are fairly generous in that something would have to look really bad for me to consider it bad. |

Love the jazzy swing aesthetic of the op. I expected something far more rock or solitary jazz-esque. Glad to be suprised. I think the show looks really good from this pv and glad they aren't skimping on the toku aspects.

Not bad, will probably wait for the full song before making any final judgement, but it kind of reminds me of Finger on the Trigger (the insert theme and one Shoutaro and Phillip also sang in one episode).
The animation looks nice as well. Looking forward to this! |
Looking good. The song is nice, though I hope they pull a Gridman and the play the original opening during the final episode. Overall excited to see it.
|
I feel like I've heard this song somewhere before. It sounds very familiar.
|
honestly I was expecting them to NEVER show any henshin sequences in the advertising but show it just before the end of an ad just to get people excited
|
Cool. Pleased with the recognition of Fuuto and its locations. But the sly ones are still hiding W himself.
|
A fan was at the screening at anime expo and answered some questions about the first two episodes.
W and the Dopants are traditionally animated. Only the bike and the driver are CG. |

According to rumors from the preview, the henshin scene in the anime is awesome.
