Could this then mean that the hero will already be an experienced rider in the first episode? There has never been anything like this in Reiwa, it's about time. Especially if you follow the theory that Zero-One=Kuuga+Agito, Saber - Ryuki and Revice - Faiz. Then it is obvious that Geats should be something similar to Blade, and there is just a similar situation.

God, I'm getting so old - it seems like just a few months ago we were finding out about Revice! Well, after reading this thread so far, I'm on team "Geats=Gibberish", which is exciting, because we have no clue what to expect! I'm almost as excited as I'll be watching Revice in fall when the Malay discs drop��

That seems more farfetched than Number Theory ever was, Zero One's got nothing in common with those two, I haven't watched Saber but 1 form being a Ryuki shout out isn't enough to say it's that similar and for Revice, I didn't see that either but it doesn't seem to have any similarities. Plus, writers and toylines are seperate, no?

I myself do not believe in it, I only repeat what I read on this forum. To be fair, Saber and Ruyuki also share a knightly theme, a large number of Riders, and a rewrite of the world in the finale. Although the last two points are not that unique. They wrote about Revise and Faiz that both of them have big teeth, but I don`t see much similarity either. I think it was more of a dream for 555 fans.

I still think that's a stretch, we've been getting loads of Riders per season since I want to say Ex-Aid, not to mention the knight thing in Ryuki wasn't universal to it's Riders.

Actually, if Geats doesn't refer to the Swedes, does anyone know of any alternative readings of the katakana? It could be a sign of a visual theme, otherwise we need to wait for the logo to leak

To be honest, I did read his name with a hard "G" until I learned it was pronounced "Jeed" (love that Ultra and his show). So, I guess that checks.

As far as I know the kata has no particular inherent meaning. Really the best we can take away is that it likely isn't a pun on any Japanese originating words because if it was we would likely see an alternative kanji spelling in the trademark as well (like how Gaim had a kanji spelling read as "Gaimu/Gaim" but meaning "Armoured Warrior", and Saber had kanji read as "Seiba/Saber" but meaning "Holy Sword") but this isn't a guarantee per se, you'd just normally expect to see a kanji or hirigana pun, not katakana, if it was playing with Japanese words

So it's more likely a strange mashup of of some non-japanese words [So like, Ex-Aid (Extreme + Aid, sounds like ".exe") or Revice (Leviathian + Vice, sounds like "Revise") style]. Or it could just actually be meaningless... For example it could be a fictional word or term that exists in the universe of the show, rather than a specific pun or real world idea

We probably gotta hold out for the logo trademark in a month (or maybe we'll luck out and some super early leaks will appear~) to get an actual sense of theming tbh

This comes from the person who dropped the Giffard Rex name *and* got a few Animal + Riders pairs right before the Revice press conference. So what do you think about this?

........Personally, I think people might be wary when they hear "many Riders", Saber wasn't that too long ago. However, it all depends on how it's executed for me: If the show can juggle all these Riders without fumbling, I wouldn't mind it at all.

To me, the way they specifically mention Gaim or Saber seems to imply one item will be meant for the rider (i.e the Gaim face-plates or Seiken Emblems), while the other is the gimmick item everyone can use (the Lockseeds or Wonder Ridebooks).

I'm not too worried, multiple riders has (for better or worse) effectively become the norm. I just hope their names are slightly more conventional/typical.

If this is how it works, my main concerns are if this means the driver will be a chunky box to hold all the sounds for everyone. And if it can be hacked by using IR signals or pressing some tabs to unlock other forms/sound effects. After the last incident, I'm not exactly excited to hear about the people uncovering new forms by messing around with the driver.

From what I remember Revice had unusually early reliable rumours. We got a lot of stuff from Cranejoe specifically, and when Cranejoe says smth is true it might as well be toei or bandai confirming it lol

For Geats I haven't seen anything from Cranejoe yet (unless I missed smth)... even if this IG account has a good track record I'd say this is pretty grain of salt until we have a little more info imo

Tho I'd say multi-rider is a pretty safe bet these days lol

UPDATE: Just checked and yea all Cranejoe has said so far that I can find is basically "hard to tell what the theme will be from this name" lol, so looks like he's in the same boat as for now

I wonder if it'll be a TopSwitch System. The two items would correspond to above and below the belt, with a function that switches which item represents which portion of the armor corresponds to it. (If this is the case, then I presume the finisher is activated by using this function twice before an announcement can begin, instead of just once for a quick change that doesn't require changing which collectibles are in the Driver.)

Honestly I'd be pretty shocked to get a key themed gimmick item. While they weren't classical keys so much, we had "progrise keys" so recently, and they did use them with a key like motion a few times in the show... so even tho they felt more like a digital pass key, I feel like bandai and toei would probably think that was a bit repetitious?

Honestly with the series name, and even the gashapon info, it doesn't really give me any ideas on what the gimmick items could be at all lol

Crawling through forums/feeds because "chess theme" sounded familar....I've got whispers of a similar rumor during Zi-O's pre-release, and that's it? Someone *definitely* has brought it up recently because I'm seeing a few posts on Twitter as recent as late May discussing it. The only thing I can find is a post from someone compiling 2022 Rider rumors talking about a certain ridiculous rumor frm FB and using its pieces to conclude it has a chess theme? If anyone else can find a better source for this rumor, be my guest! But I have a feeling this one's fake.

Rumors about a female rider in Geats better be true. The trend continues hopefully.

I believe Shirakura stated he wanted more female Riders a while ago and considering we've gotten one every season since Zi-O, that should remain consistent, especially with how Jeane has absurd amounts of focus compared to every other woman who got to wear a belt in this franchise

If we do get a new female Rider, I hope she can properly embody the traditional values of Kamen Rider, unlike Sabela and Jeanne. Depends who the writer and producer are, I guess.

But that doesn't make much sense unless we're talking about a season where she's going to be the main Rider. At least secondary. Because other Riders are needed to experience the principles of the main one and either take its side, remaining themselves, but becoming a little better; or die in battle. I wouldn't say that Snipe or Grease is too much in line with classic Ryder values. So, for me personally, let her be an interesting character with her own motives and a dark side, rather than the cheerleader of the main Ryder in armor. In general, Reiwa definitely should give us a women's season. But not now, because after Jeanne, Aguilera may experience satiety and rejection, like what is happening now in Western culture.

They don't have to be the main rider, secondary, tertiary or whatever trivial ranking to embody anything. Just look at Hiromi.

I just want female rider that's entertaining to watch, that's something I honestly can't say for the current year.

I don't mind if she has a dark side, since some of my favorites like Inamori Mayu and Asou Yuri started with revenge as a motivation, before becoming more heroic and softer. I also don't mind if she's specifically on the villain side, as long as she's authentic about it. Ultimately, whether she's a hero or a villain, the least I hope for is that the show and its characters will react to her appropriately based on her actions, not being too lenient with her just cause she's a girl or whatever. I believe people, regardless of gender or any other factors of identity, should have to face the consequences of their actions. Like, for example, Reika abducting and torturing Sophia, it's really annoying how she just gets away with that.

My personal hope for the female Rider (very nice that we can casually assume there'll be one somewhere along the line, thanks Reiwa) is that they take a page out of Sophia! Calibur and Izu! Zero-Two and give us a female Rider with a more androgynous design?

(Don't get me wrong, Sabela and Jeanne are solid designs! But I feel like there's more freedom in designs if you don't pigeonhole yourself into thinking "But how will they know this one's the girl??????", yknow? And a more androgynous design might soothe the suits' worries about the potenial of the toys of a female Rider not selling well too...)

In Fourze, I remember forgiving absolutely everyone without consequences. Again, Kento, as Calibur, was ready to sacrifice not only himself, but also Mei and Rintaro, but he was also not scolded for it. So I don't think it's about boys/girls.
On account of Reika: a distinctive feature of the Shindai is their boundless devotion to the Sword of the Logos. They went against Isaac only after he himself said that he was no longer the Master of the Logos. Therefore, from the point of view of Reika and her brother, she did the right thing in the case of Sophia.
Sophia herself, apparently, does not hold a grudge against Reika, which is quite in the nature of this character. Sophia is very restrained, keeps her feelings to herself and even alone over the photo with her dead friends does not cry, but simply looks sad. It is quite logical that such a person will not express her own claims to Reika (for Sophia's resentment is most likely directed at Isaac) and will not tell other characters about what happened, who could just get angry with Sabella. So maybe this outcome is wrong from the point of view of justice, but it is correct specifically for these characters and context.
Of course, it would be great to see some kind of growth and development of Reika (especially since the potential, when exactly she defeated the Sage, was laid), but we will get this only in some kind of V-cinema / special.

It would be cool if we were Rider incognito and we would be shocked that this is a girl. But then you need an additional guy character to distract attention, otherwise the audience will guess.

It's just the season. We have the:
- male couple with the most uniforms;
- female couple favorites of the director;
- unloved middle child;
- and lazy designers.
In such a company, Hiromi just has to be a classic Rider :)

I would not say that Jeanne and Aguilera are so bad. In fact, this is already progress. I mean, you can always remember that Faiz also had a female Rider.

As a fan of Mage, yes to more androgynous designs! Super Sentai already does the gender-coding thing, so it would make more sense for Kamen Rider to have the characters conform to the suits, not the other way around.

Not so much for Zero Two, since I'd like for characters to have unique Rider identities, not just copying a form from the Primary Rider.

The main difference is that they all apologized after seeing the error of their ways. Shun apologized for bullying his friend. Ryusei apologized for killing Gentarou. Kento apologized for trying to sacrifice people.

Sophia's owed an apology for what she had to endure, but I've never seen Reika ever feel remorse for any of her actions or attempt to make amends with the people she hurt, which is what makes her difficult for me to tolerate.

While the abduction part is consistent with the Shindais' loyalty to Master Logos, the torture part is something Reika did impulsively and it served no purpose to their goals, only to make Sophia suffer needlessly. I'd say Ryouga is actually a pretty nice person when you get to know him, just a little strict and misguided in his loyalty. But I think Reika has some serious problems, like her yandere behavior towards Touma and Mei for getting too close to her brother.

Sophia is a very emotionally healthy person for sure! That takes true strength, for her to put aside any feelings of resentment she'd be totally justified in having, feelings that other characters in her position might instead be inclined to act on. I've always respected Sophia for that, she's kind and forgiving, but she's not a pushover.

I did mention that she seemed more tolerable in Beyond Generations, even sitting at the same table as Sophia without rancor. Same goes for her brief appearance in Trio of Deep Sin, actually. So maybe she softened a little offscreen in the time since Saber's finale. But it's still something I would've liked to see addressed in the show. If a V-Cinema is needed to fix a character, then something is wrong there.

I'm going to agree with Rei on this. I think Saya as Delta was a way better character than those two, for how little time she got. Honestly, she's probably my favorite Delta user.

Honestly, I don't remember Kento's apologies. I only remember the scene with the ghost father and dressing up in the North Base uniform. But even if he apologized, this was not enough for Ren.
In Fourze, I had more in mind the monsters of two weeks. Gentaro offered to be friends with everyone, so that he would not be fooled, although the actions were very diverse.

And in Saber`s final stage, Reika and Sofia defeated the kaijin together. So yes, they reconciled behind the scenes)

And this, in my opinion, is the main problem of Saber. His universe is too big. If 40+ episodes is too much for most shows, then Saber would have easily pulled all 80.



There was too little of her. I understand why, but I can't accept. But I agree, the example is not the best, so I?ll correct myself: there were female Riders in Ghost.

Speaking of female Riders: What type do you think we'll get in the Geats? We have (sort of) tsundere Jeanne, yandere Sabella and bookworm Valkiria. So what will be the next one? Party girl gyaru? Сheerful genki? Also thought what kind of dynamic would it create if the female Ryder was also the eldest in the whole cast?
