I don't think anyone here has done that though? From what I can tell every post in this thread has been about their thoughts on how the suits look and/or speculation on the stock footage use, not about the writing or if Hasbro is ruining the show or anything like that.

I mean, I was trying to avoid singling out anyone, but, like 2 pages back:
Plus, I've seen it a bunch elsewhere. But then again I've seen a bunch of "Amelia doesn't deserve to be Red it doesn't make sense!" takes elsewhere too, and I ignore those on principle.

Yeah, this is a lot better. There's still the coloring issue, but I feel like that bolt is just what the suit designs needed; makes them a lot less bland, and clearly flags them as being upgraded versions of the Dino Fury Rangers.

I don't think the show's gonna be bad. It has the cast of Dino Fury, and I see no reason to believe it won't have the same good writing that Dino Fury did. If anything, that's a part of what makes the Ranger costumes so frustrating to me; they're the one big blemish on a season I'm otherwise looking forward to.

I take it that PR is going to do its own thing instead of using Sentai footage? Makes me wonder if they will do a brand new original team from the ground up next? Voltron and Robotech did their own content without footage from Macross and GoLion.

I personally find the sculpted muscles and boobs funny. Like the cast seems to be taking in humorous stride too.

I don't mind the designs. They look a lot better here, and I actually like the Red design. My issue is that some of the material looks cheap, and the fake breasts are weird.

That's the long-rumored scuttlebutt, but it's an unknown quantity and a LOT of questions remain!

Cosmic Fury is clearly meant to be an experiment, and the reception may determine or factor into whatever follows.

And if it fails I expect the next season to be Power Rangers Choo Choo Fury the long-awaited ToQger adaptation. :lolol

Well their reason for changing kabuto and stag to mantis and scarab was that, "beetles are too scary for kids", so an entire show full of crawling bugs.... I think they might skip it in favor of something else unless they're willing to re-evaluate their logic.

It's not about being scary, it's about kids apparently recognsing a mantis more than a beetle? Which is still some interesting logic, but "Bugs scary!" is it isn't, especially when, you know, Steel's zord is still called the Scarab.

Fair enough, that logic isn't quite as stupid as I thought, considering that kabuto beetles are native to Japan. However, King-Ohger has both a mantis and a kabuto, which might push Hasbro in a corner if they tried to adapt it.

That between kikanoids, computer characters and cool-looking aristocrats, the latter are easier to adapt. And as for the types of beetles, you can just not focus too much on them. Let it be just the Red Beetle, and whoever wants to know more can google it.

If they won't adapt King-Ohger because bugs are scary, well, that's a shame. But hey, at least Power Rangers Choo Choo Fury is still a possible candidate. :lolol

By the way, American stag beetles are red, so a Kuwagata Ohger doesn't have to be all that exotic for a Power Rangers audience:

It's really funny to me how quickly news about Power Rangers for the first time ever doing their own original team suits pivoted to "which Sentai will be adapted next?"

And the others are all recognizable. In addition, there is some definite Transdagger energy on that shield.

Hahahahahaha. In all seriousness, I think the ones Hasbro might be looking at for next year are King-Ohger, Kiramager, and Zyuohger.

From what it sounds like, Cosmic Fury is the final series of Power Rangers as we know it. Anything from 2024 onwards would be 100% original. No more adaptations.

It's not like PR has never had original content. All the previous US-exclusive rangers on the show, the exclusive teams in the BOOM universe, Hyperforce as a whole...

This is a very bold assumption at this stage. They can fail, be kicked off Netflix, or be sold to someone again. And in any of these cases, most likely, they will return to a proven scenario that has worked since 1993. Plus, they still can't make original zords.
P.S. Crazy theory. What if Toei becomes the next franchise owner after Hasbro? I understand that this is very unlikely, because they only enter the Western market and then through intermediaries, but it would be very exciting.

As long as they can’t make original Zords, they’re going to be relying on Sentai footage for that.

They can very easily pivot to 100% CGI. I'm not even sure robot merch is the top seller for the Power Rangers line anymore. Pretty sure for the core audience (ie, young kids) the top sellers are the figures and roleplay items.

Legacy stuff will always sell to the adults, but as far as Zords and Mecha go, kids widely prefer CGI to rubber suits.

Even Sentai's using CGI for mech fights more often than not. They do keep the suits cause it's part of the franchise's charm but CG lets them get flashy and acrobatic.

But CG are expensive, and the Power Rangers did not close at the beginning of the 2000s only because of their cheapness. Plus, given the level of the original costumes, the graphics are likely to be on par with the Dendy games.

Just a quick question; if we're getting the Dimetro-Zord later this financial quarter, are the Pachycephalosaurus, Cosmic Raptor Zords going to be sold as part of Cosmic Fury's toyline or Dino Fury's?
