Agree. Cards and elements give a very strong Blade`s vibe. In fact, this is not bad, because it is interesting to see how such a concept is implemented in the modern era. See also: Ocean and Wind as toys? Maybe the rider is somehow connected with the sea or maritime activities? Sailor, fisherman, port worker?

I'm expecting an elemental trickster rider that uses trap cards like a second coming of Wizard

Revice and Geats are mixed seasons in this regard (although maybe not, and the people of the future have simply mastered the magic). In principle, the concept of the cards and the elements is quite suitable for a magic show.

Rider Circus! The illusionist will be responsible for special effects, acrobats and strongmen (I know that they are no longer in circuses, but let's say) - for tricks and fights; and the clown will take over the humor.

I'm living for the outside chance that this is Kamen Rider Got-Chard because it's the eat-your-vegetables Rider in the vein of Gaim's fruit motif. "Chard Arms! HUZZAH!"

I wonder if Gotchard traps the monster in collectible items. Just going off of the "Gotcha".

When I think of Gotchard I think of Gotcha + Card, which brings to memory Goseiger, with a card theme and the Tensouder making the sound Gotcha!

But anyway, I do agree this could go anywhere, but I do think a card gimmick would be fun, despite how simple it is. However, the name also kind of reminds me of the "Gacchan!" sound from Ex-Aid, so maybe another Video Game theme?

I'm not going to go too deep into speculations, since I'd rather wait for official stuff coming out, and I know I'd be wrong in anything I predict anyway (ha ha ha), so I'm just going to have fun with Geats while occasionally commenting on any interesting ideas and rumors that circulate around.

It would be funny if this turned out to be Inoue repeating Jetman but with Kamen Rider. And for good measure Tsuyoshi from DonBrothers and Gai from Jetman makes a cameo. :lolol

If it is a pun on "Gotcha" and "Card"... I would like the idea that others have said that they could be capturing the monsters in cards, though to me that sounds less Digimon, Pokemon, or Yu-Gi-Oh!, and more like Card Captor Sakura lol

That does sound fun. Though, personally I'm not a fan of collecting Card gimmicks so I'm not sure how interested I would be in the toy line, the show could still be cool though regardless ofc

Since we remembered Card Captor Sakura the , I'll add a little flood. In one of the games based on the anime, the task of the player in the role of Sakura's friend is to film her battles with monsters. Personally, I find it very funny from the very concept that you need to play not as a heroine, but as a support character.

It's actually based on the Gotchard, from the Germanic poem "Beowulf", who becomes King of the Gotchards.

If this is a Playing Card themed-rider, it would be really cool to see different riders with differently themed decks. Maybe even some riders mix-and-match the decks for different results.


The only aspect that would be really odd for a Card gimmick is the lack of sounds in the gimmick itself. While Geats had a few Form changes (and minor buckles) that generated sounds, the Desire Driver really left a lot of options for buckles generating their own sound. In regard to Kamen Rider, it seems like Bandai has been wanting to move away from sounds that can only be accessed with the belt itself (which hasn't been done since Build, or if we are counting a belt with no upgrades outside of Belt Sounds, Wizard).

They could have a Card Slot that has some sort of device that has a faux card or Blank Card activation (with only corresponding lights), or there could be cards for attacks/small form changes and then a different gimmick for the forms

There is always another option, being just barcodes for every item (like Ultraman Orb and Decker), with extra items being their own henshin device, but that would be really unusual for Rider.

And the last option I can think of is that Cards are not the gimmick at all, and that either A) the gimmick is something else entirely or B) Cards are used, but cosmetic and used for something else (like the energy items in Ex-Aid that are essentially Buttabasoul medals) or a secondary gimmick, like the Card Riders in Geats.

Yeah cards are popular and easy to understand. It's been plenty long enough since Decade to return to cards in some way.

Tablets will do. Like stone tablets or glass tablets. They'll represent to us as cards in ways.

Hang on, can't the Fool become any card in the tarot? That sorta thing is late-game material, as established by Kamen Rider Fourze with that hair-themed Zodiart, and again with one of the generals using the Horoscope switches of Horoscopes that have been defeated.

All depends if the riders use those cards or the monsters or altogether.

And I so wish tarot cards would mix with lawyers in Gotchard.

There is one problem with the fool being the villain.

The fool represents the journey the fool has unlimited potential and thus it can be placed at the beginning or the end

If anything the protag would be the fool, as the fool is about the journey and starts as a blank slate
