Liam Hemsworth was rumored to play the Red Ranger a while ago. I would pick him as the main ranger since it seems like he can act and the Hunger Games hype can bring in a crowd.

I would have to agree. At least have someone famous in place of Zordon, or Rita Repulsa if not the kids.

Heck, if it's a reboot of MMPR, are we at least certain the kids are recast versions of Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini, and Kimberly?

Some news would be nice to hear outta Hollywood about that or something.

I think this movie is either in development hell or delayed to 2017 or 2018. Many movies that are coming out in 2016 already has there cast and director in place like Suicude Squad and Aquaman. Deadpool is filming right now. Yet for this movie there is no news of cast or director.

I also wonder if this is just a cheap low budget film and a straight to dvd movie instead of a high-budget blockbuster movie because it doesn't say just Lionsgate productions, but Saban and Lionsgate production. Lionsgate has split production with WWE films and they just make cheap straight to dvd movies.

I think the movie is likely push to 2017 or 2018. I think lack of news is usually a thing for movies most of the time then things pick up once the movie gets rolling. I think the movie was not going to come out in 2016 anyways.

Some have said Lionsgate has a talent for making movies in short timeframes. I really hope they get it underway, or have gotten it underway. A high-budget Power Rangers movie is a dream come true.

In this article where Lionsgate promoted Patricia Laucella for production and talent deals, it states that she was the one who did the production and talent deals for Hunger Games Mockinjay movie and Jennifer Lawrence and that she "hammered out production and talent deals for Divergent and Insurgent, plus upcoming releases including Allegiant, Gods Of Egypt, the live-action Power Rangers series..."

I'm wondering if this is in preparation for those who will get the roles. Or if casting has started, or what.
