While watching the Pokemon titanic episode i kept thinking to myself. This kind of scenario could be avoided if Misty had a Pokemon with surf and dive. Seriously what kind of Water trainer doesn't have those attacks?

To be fair, dive didn't exist as an attack until way after that episode aired :lol

It gets more ridiclulous when you remember that in the show they don't need those moves to carry people like a boat or to dive.

Nothing will ever surpass this.

Its a natural evolution of the game to incorporate the new graphic and gameplay engine, to introduce something new to older fans who undoubtedly complained that the old formula was getting stale.

There is just no pleasing everyone on these types of moves. Its not like they're "betraying" the fandom or "ruining" the series. The game isn't out yet. Let's save the judgement till we get a feel of this mechanic in action.

I personally keep getting more and more excited with each new announcement =D everything looks awesome and it seems to me that they're trying everything they can to break the mould and provide something new, but at the same time keep it familiar.

Mega evolutions are pretty cool looking, apart from Amphy though, I didn't like any of the others previously so not much has changed now. Still cool though.

All these mega evolutions really make me want to see one for porygon-z.

I like Blaziken's and I like Absol's a lot.

Mega Ampharos' hair looks FABULOUS! :lol

Also, Mega Evolutions reminds me of another Japanese series about kids with cute monster pets. What was it again?

I feel that actually adds to his design, sure they look like christmas lights but that's not exactly out of place in an Electric Pokemon.

Just because there's a reasoning behind the design choice doesn't necessarily make it a good design choice. Ampharos had ditched the sheep theme and went with "Lighthouse." It's now removed that to re-add the sheep designs, making it muddied and cluttered.

However, considering MegaBlaziken is now king of "Trying too hard" I guess I can't complain over Amphabio's design choices.

And I'm pretty sure Gamefreak forgot Farfetch'd is even a thing at this point.

Well the lightbulbs have been a staple in all of Mareep forms so it doesn't really bother me, and I always found it stupid that Ampharos lacked wool, so Mega at least improves on that front. But I can see why it doesn't work for you.

Yeah MegaBlaziken is perfectly summed up as "trying to hard" alongside Lucario.

... I want Mega Farfetch'd, and i won't accept a no as an answer even if it takes years, I'll get my Mega Farfetch'd.

If MegaLucario didn't have those odd reddish-brown patches and dreadlocks, I'd like it.

I know the Mareep family had the lightbulbs on their designs, but Ampharos had left the sheep design behind. I'm not excusing it (I was never a big fan of the original Ampharos design, either), but it's what they chose.

I'm on the fence on whether I think MegaLucario is trying too hard or just ugly. I'm not sure, yet.

And I want a MegaMilotic...But I know that's not gonna happen. *Sighs*

The rust colored patches are gaudy, and the dreadlocks should be toned down.
However, I actually think it's the random black striping that's it's downfall. They clash with the rust patches and make the design too active. They should have stuck with one of the colors (Either black or reddish-brown), and downsized on the dreadlocks, and I'm sure the design would be a lot better.

I don't hate Mega Pokemon's designs and translate better from 2D drawing to 3D polygonal model then I thought.

No. That's the purpose of the spikes.
The brown is there to make his design look terrible.

But Lucario has always been a Steel type, so the brown parts are quite pointless.

But he never looked like a steel type.

Lucario had Spikes on his hands. I guess that constitutes as being Steel enough for Steel type.

None of the Mega-Evolutions look bad to me per se. I'll have to look at the Stats to have a good idea of how these effects work in battle. The dynamic of Singles, Doubles, Triples and Rotations could change in an instant if these Mega-Evolutions come with new in-Battle Abilities like Drought, Airlock or Aromatherapy.

That aspect of the Mega-Evolutions excites me more so than their visual appeal.

Breeding a good IV Whimiscott to be a Tailwind set-up. I hope I don't go insane after the 60th Egg hatched.

The abilities for the mega evolutions so far have been revealed,

MegaMawile has Huge Power
MegaBlaziken has Speed Boost
MegaLucario has Adaptability
MegaAbsol has Magic Bounce
MegaMewtwo has Insomnia
MegaAmpharos has Mold Breaker

That's going to be trouble. Especially Speed Boost. Dream World Torchic pretty much was a favorite.
