Are the Doctor Who audio adventures good? Been thinking about grabbing them for a long while for my daily commute.
|
Extremely. Especially at the prices Big Finish offer them for. There's pretty much always some on sale.
|
Seems quite expensive to me, even with the sale, ten pound for the first adventure with the 8th Doctor? And that is a digital download.
|
Thank you curious these story are now cannon right
|
All the 8th Doctor digital downloads are £5, the CDs are £10.
|
Yeah but the first episode is a two parter, so it's basically a tenner for a digital download of the first episode and that is steep. I don't think I've ever bought a digital album for more than eight pound.
|
An episode isn't a story though is it? It's a multi-part story and each episode is 50 minutes long. I don't see what's so unreasonable about that given that's probably the average length of most music albums.

ok i was reading this http://www.kasterborous.com/2013/11/...umably-mcgann/
also what is the right ord for the 8th adventures |

There's also some 8th stuff in the main range, but there isn't really a specific order as its multiple Doctors in that range. Your best bet is to just look at the production number. |
Bit the bullet and bought the first two episodes of the 8th Doctor Adventures. man these are good! An incredible cast, doing amazing performances with a script that is just ridiculously good, I didn't think I could enjoy a Doctor Who episode so much without any visuals at all.

Judging by the reports of spoiler gatherers across the web, the clip on Children in Need tonight will be the pre-titles sequence from the Day of the Doctor.

Went ahead and bought the whole first season. Just finished the third episode, it was a cool concept but I thought it jumped around a little too much making certain moments slightly hard to follow on first listen. |
Possibly nothing, but there's a Works store in the center that I work. Last time I popped in for a few bits for our shop they had a ton of doctor who ebook CD's.
No idea on the price or what ones, but yeah, thought I'd just let y'all know just incase. I'll have a proper look tomorrow. |
right due to my spending money and work money of my main job are on to different bank i had to go the other route on get 8 doctor seris due to i really wanted to listen to them so badly so i found a link to get them for free. i will be supporting them after i bough my 23 volum boxset of one piece due to i do want to cd copys of these so i will get them backwards from the £40 set onwards after like stated before i payed my books.

Just saw the Day of the Doctor clip on Children in Need. Was decent enough, but wasn't very much at all to be honest.
Not that I care, would be wrong to spoil the episode a week ahead. |

Whoa. They added more US locations for the 11/25 showings. I actually have the theatre option now. Big screen Whoooooo!
I can't wait for this. I'm hoping either the special or the other minisode has a fantastic surprise! |
Due to Day of the Doctor airing on the weekend and it being a Saturday, that you all please spoiler tag

(Without the spaces between spoiler and the ]) your posts until atleast, I think, Monday.
Something this big let's not spoil it for anyone and ruin the special day :) ~ Sentai |
Just finished Immortal beloved, probably my favourite episode so far. Really dark, really cerebral, really well written and just classic Doctor Who. I like how this series really tries to tackle big issues, rather than say modern Moffat Who which is just entirely about twists. I'm also really enjoying Lucie and the 8th Doctor, even if their dynamic is nothing special.

So much predictable bias and ignorance in this article.
Radio Times: Doctor Who 50th anniversary: 5 reasons why Rose Tyler is the show's best companion ever |
So rose is the best companion for being/doing what all companions have been/done? Amazing.

I guess it could have been worse, they could have picked Amy.
|
I'm just sad that Radio Times ended up ignoring the troll votes. For a while Adric and Mel were winning :lol
|
Just finished Foboss or however that's spelt, the ending was a tad rushed, sorta felt like they couldn't decide on a single ending so they used several. The rest of the episode was fun though, much better than the Horror of Glam Rock which has been the worst episode so far.

Well I'm not big enough of a fan to know. :D

Now, I freely admit to having started with the 2005 series, but I went back and watched all of the classic series (including the reconstructions) and have a tremendous love for it. Rose was the first companion I ever saw, and she's one of my least favorites. To be honest, most of the new series companions I find annoying.
Yet, for some reason, I love Mel and I don't mind Adric. I think part of that is hearing how awful they were prior to watching them and then finding they weren't as terrible as advertised. (Adric, I think, gets a particularly bad rap but he acts just like most of the really smart young people I've known in my life.) But, sadly, I know that most of my Who tastes don't align with the general consensus. I do have to acknowledge the fact that I didn't watch these as they came out so I can't really understand some of the 'whys' behind the opinions of long-time fans as I didn't grow up with it. |

a new video interview with moffet http://www.kasterborous.com/2013/11/...-doctor-video/
|
Just finished 'no more lies' my least favourite 8th adventure, it started in the middle, never provided context and I spent the majority of the episode wondering if I skipped an episode by accident.
Just finished the Human Resources two parter, SO GOOD! Gonna have to buy the second season now. |
Had a question. According to that minisode, the eight Doctor becomes John Hurt's War Doctor. So.. does that make War 9th, Eccleson 10th, Tennant 11, and Smith 12?
