Crazy speculation time: Anyone else think that Specter might be hunting Ghost? What with those heart rate lines on his legs and arms, the contrast between the two seems to be that one is alive and one is dead. We already know that ghost hunters are part of this universe.

I honestly have a theory that he's a member of the medical field. Maybe a doctor that let too many patients die and had to retire, or even an ambulance driver that got into an accident, killing himself and the patient in the back so he became a rider to atone for that sin.

Could be anything really. I do hope that his henshin goes the beat of a heart rate monitor and flatlines right as he henshins.

Writer is apparently someone who wrote for Ultraman Max, trying to pin that one down.

Ultraman Max? That's one of my favorite tokusatsu shows ever, so that's good news. It didn't really have a head writer, though; there were some writers who did three or four episodes, but no one who's vision really dominated the show.

It's apparently someone who did like 1 or 2 episodes and has done mostly J Dramas ever since.

Script is by Fukuda Takuro. Also worked on Ultraseven X as well it seems.

I'm loving him so far. Also I love the themes mentioned too. I can't wait for this show.

Okay, he did episodes 18 and 36, which were the ones with the tiny alien that cast illusions. Obviously can't judge a series off that, but they were good - kinda silly, though. The latter was the episode where Elly got possessed by Pigmon, though, which was fun. I'm definitely optimistic.

Yeah I'm optimistic too. Well I loved UltraSeven X but it looks like he only wrote one episode of that. Well I'm in good spirits for it right now.

I never watch Ultraman because they're bascially Super Sentai meet Kamen Rider show. But Igive Takuro Fukada a chance since Riku Sanjo writing Kyoryuger didn't work out for me.

Yes, the franchise that predates Kamen Rider/Sentai by 5/9 years is a combination of both :rolleyes

Of course the show evolved over the years and definitely took some ideas from the other Toku shows, but calling the first major Tokusatsu TV-franchise "Super Sentai meet Kamen Rider" is dumb even for your standards.

This is my favorite time of year to be a Kamen Rider fan. I love seeing how a series ends. Honestly, I think my judgment of any given Rider series is based at least 50% on how it ties up its loose ends. Some do it surprisingly well; regrettably, most fall short. In at least a couple of cases they fall really, really far. But sometimes that's fun to watch too. :p

On top of that, there's the hype that comes from a whole lot of news and magazine scans that lead up to a brand new Rider.

Apparently the show will have a head producer in Kazuhiro Takahashi, but he has worked on W and Fourze, so that's good. It'll be his first time as a head producer.

Off the top of my head? For me, I'm thinkin' like... Decade and Faiz. Hibiki, although that's debatable. Maybe Kabuto. At least Kabuto tried, though.

I know absolutely nothing about the producers, writers, directors, etc...

That's what happens when you replace the head writer halfway through the series and don't bother to ask for notes on what he had planned.

Wait what :confused:? Ultraman came out 5 years before Kamen Rider and a decade before Sentai. Ultraman has nothing in common with Sentai other then they have giant monsters. Ultraman tends to work on his own like a Kamen Rider does. Ultraman popularity help the Henshin Hero genre became even more popular in Japan and which help lead to the 70's Toku hero boom. Other henshin heroes like Star Man, Gekko Kamen and Golden Bat exist long before Ultraman, but Ultraman did help create the genre more popular in Japan. Just like how Mazinger Z help create the Mecha genre become even more popular in Japan even though other mecha anime & manga like Gigantor and Giant Robo (Johnny Sokko) exist before it.

I guess you don't know much about Toku besides Kamen Rider and Sentai. That's why we have stuff like Google ;).

An entirely new crew behind Ghost? Consider me highly optimistic now. I can't wait to see how this pans out because it means Toei is going to take another risk.

I have a good feeling about Ghost too. I'm still trying to catch up to Drive and I still don't care for the show. I hope this will be as great as Gaim or as good as W, OOO, Kabuto or Den-O in my opinion.

Something that caused me to raise an eyebrow: I've noticed that nearly all the official suit images so far for Ghost Ore Soul keep the hood down. HM. Maybe what they've filmed so far made them feel that having the hood up during fight scenes doesn't work for whatever reason?

By looking at this schedule for the figures, I guess the Benkei Tamashii will be like an upgrade form for Ghost and the Nobunaga Tamashii will be an upgrade form for Specter.

SO are they supposed to be Oni? Just curious since Ghost has 1 horn and Spectre has 2.

As discussed earlier in the thread, it's just the classic beetle bros trope. While these guys aren't bug related it's pretty clear that Ghost & Specter repeat that traditional pattern.

As did Blade. I think Blade and Decade were mostly just the writers, though; Hibiki had all of the top level production staff replaced. Blade actually got through the change and improved, but Decade turned into a mess and Hibiki was absolutely butchered after the production switch.

I think Newton will be my favorite.

Blade changed hands around the time the new intro was added. Decade was after Agito World. Oddly enough, the new writer who took over the main job on Blade was the original writer who left halfway through Decade.
