Good news, just heard back from Amiami, shipping for the So-Do backlog won't be as bad as I was worried. Only 6170 yen. Way less than it would've cost to ship them all individually with SAL if covid hadn't happened!

That's exciting, I got my payment request as well. Makes me half tempted to wait till the end of thr month and include AI9 and 10 along with Kuuga 2 in this huge shipment, but I'm impatient

AI 10 release! Because the Zi-O releases never end, and with a reference to their TV Advert of "Everyone will be released!", we have the final villain - Another Decade! A variety of shots of him and Tsukuyomi are shown off, and I think this brings us up 11 Another Riders, which is pretty good going!

Nah but for real, that Gouram makes me really jealous that SHF never got one that worked like that.

There's also a bit of bad news in this update. They're going to stop doing the complete sets after wave 1 of Saber. You'll have to buy her cases instead. It's frustrating, it's taken me a long time to get rid of all my Build spares, I'm not looking forward to acquiring a bunch of Saber duplicates as well

Eeesh. That's a bummer. I'm sorry for any collector who's going to be stuck with more than they wanted.

It's maybe good timing for me, though, because I was planning on maybe skipping Saber's SO-DO? At least for a little while? I'm not super thrilled with the designs, and I'm probably a year away from watching it, so, yeah, felt like one I could pick up on the secondary market if I ended up getting excited about it later. Sounds there'll be plenty of options on Mandarake!

That's unfortunate. I guess I'll just rely on Mandarake for figures I'm interested in since I'm not always interested in every figure in each wave anyways.

This also means that Naki will most likely end up in Saber.

The end of the blog also states that next week they'll start showing off Saber's first wave -- and while they don't explicitly say this, I think that's as good a confirmation as any that Zero-One's main line is over. Finished!



And GOD I'm happy to see that Kuuga bike set. Looks like this might start becoming a trend for Chronicle; maybe we'll see Den-O and OOO followed up on! And maybe a Beatchaser while we're at it...

He also said that there are still two unknown boxes in AI10. Also, it’s a bummer Saber is back to incomplete sets. Especially as AmiAmi has their full boxes sold out months in advance of the figure’s release.

I am simultaneously very excited for SODO Saber and dreading it because yay new designs and engineering but boo no whole box sets. On the other hand I never pre-order and almost always just buy sets off of the secondary market so it might not be as big a problem
(also box stuff is slowly getting sorted, Die your box will probably be the first to be packed/shipped)

One good thing about Another Decade coming out this much later later is in addition to doing every Rider suit leftover from Zero-One in Saber, there's a chance of popular non-Riders to get figures later too, meaning even if aren't the last figure in AI10, there's still a chance for Fighting Jackal and the Battle Raider in Saber

So here's what we know from the preorders so far:
Note: AmiAmi is the only example right now, so things can change as others list them.

1) They're named Vol. this time (because books)
2) Vol 1 is 10 types (types is what AmiAmi calls different numbered boxes).
"Assorted according to the maker's rate from 10 types."
3) Vol 3 is a case of 12 and 12 types.
"Assorted according to the maker's rate from 12 types."
4) So cases and sets might just be the same thing now after Vol 1.

Complete set is 10 types, but the box for vol1 is 12 (10 types)
Vol. 2 is going to tell if the complete set and the box are going to be same all the year (but I don't think so, would mean a looooooot of release, I would really see further boxes being like the first with 8 to 10 types in a box of 12, but no more set coming :( )

Only used a little but of silver paint on the sides of the belt and some red on the wrist. The figure has some excellent gloss armor and etching detail.

With the Saber suits looking just okay to me, I'm going to focus on SODO Chronicle series from here on out.

I built them last week, too bad that the gauntlet were on a sprue, there is a black point where the part was attached. They should have done the connection on an unpainted part of the gauntlet...
For the price that is asked this is lame...

Yeah that was a huge disappointment. The type of paint they used also did not make it easy to fix (except for a total repaint of the gauntlet). I was going to skip on this release due to that mark, but I found it for a good deal on ebay.

That is Decade from the SODO Ride Plus line which isn't nearly as articulated and uses a ton of stickers. The lack of waist/torso pivot on SODO makes it hard for them to do good kick poses. This is being remedied in Gaim, who will have a ball joint at the waist.

Having trouble ordering the Saber stuff. Keep getting the error message "Purchase process failed. Please process your purchase again. Go back to shopping cart". And it's not just those items, realized I never got around to preordering the Gaim wave, tried that and got the same message? Any ideas what's up?

On a more positive note, visited home today and took the chance to grab my Zero-One and OOO So-Do so I can have them all in the same place when my six month backlog arrives, set them up in the limited room I have in my room at the apartment. Took a few horrible cell phone pictures.

Okay, so... this is going to sound like a super specific request (because it is), but are the Build halfbodies able to split apart easily after they're attached so you can easily swap out combos? And if so, would anyone be willing to do and post pictures of Rabbit/Bike and Shark/Tank matches?

They're pretty simple to take apart, yeah. I just wish you'd asked yesterday so I could have taken a picture while I was back home last night. I've only got Zero-One and OOO So-Do at the apartment. Hopefully someone else can help further

That is some REALLY good stuff! SameBike is easily my favourite Best Match partly because of how its colours are reverse Rabbit/Tank, and it's nice to see how well the colours match up. Though, that might be down to slight inaccuracies on So-Do's part? But who cares, it ends up looking great!

Here's a couple things I'm hoping people'll have some interesting responses to:

1) A miniature black hole appears in your home, localized entirely over your SO-DO/SHODO collection. As you stare at this miracle of science, your entire collection begins to be pulled into the gaping maw of infinity. Stunned, you're able to leap into action only moments before it's too late. You can save one figure you currently own. Which one do you save, and why?

2) The miniature black hole disappears, destroying only your SO-DO/SHODO collection. Scientists from around the world are fascinated by your story, and the details go viral. They make their way to the executives at Bandai, who, through a mixture of goodwill and hopes for publicity, reach out to you. To make up for your loss, you're offered the chance to have any canonical Rider design, from any form of licensed media, made into a SO-DO or SHODO figure. Which design do you pick, and why?

This is going to sound very ironic, but it might actually be Evol Black Hole. I just really like his design, and got him just as I was having to revise a tonne of stuff for part-finals, including Black Holes and space stuff. Plus, ya know, he's likely to survive a black hole anyway. Probably caused the damn thing.

As for the second one, ummmm, Kamen Rider Poseidon? MegaMax is one of the first Rider things I watched full stop, and he just looks a great mix of "incredibly silly" and "incredibly cool".

Without a doubt, I would save Grand Zi-O. I've put the most effort into detailing and painting this figure, including going out of my way to track down metallic-purple paint. Also, the Grand Zi-O Figuarts is an uncertain release, so this is all I have for the glorious form.

If I could have any design in SODO form, I think I would go with Drive Type Formula. I love stuff like Armed Hibiki and Pineapple Arms more, but because those are final forms and Formula is not, it feels less likely to actually get made.

I recently got into So-Do(after many years of SHF) and I'm obsessed, but Mandarake isn't quite cutting it for me. I've never felt better about getting my money's worth from plastic. This line is so good.

I've got a bunch of stuff from Build available. I was in the process of selling a large amount of it, but the potential buyer disappeared. I can send them a PM giving them one last chance to buy if anything they were after is stuff you'd also want

Please tell me that you're finding some time to actually open some of your own SO-DO from that order. I'm worried that you're surrounded by little piles (or big piles) of other people's tiny mans, looking longingly at your own boxes, one single beam of sunlight illuminating them, so close and yet impossibly far away.

I have been! I basically spent most of last Friday and Saturday stickering little dudes up.
I've done AI 01, 02, 03, 04, 06, and ride plus 1 and 2.

I have the Kiramagers coming my way and I plan to paint them. I was disappointed with the LuPat Yu-Do, but after seeing how much they improved the Yu-Do figures with the Kiramagers, I'm super excited to try them again.
