I really want the gimmick figures toyline in Geats are revived again and better than Revice Remix Figure. It's hard to believe Bandai didn't make more Remix Figures. Maybe because low sales?
Anyway, here is joke picture about Kamen Rider Geats-Aid :D Source |

Breaking News:We've got footage of Geats' cameo in Battle Familia!
[I've heard directly linking the video might be no Good? It's easily findable on Youtube if you look("jAy9sBlxVWQ"), TLSavage6 on Twitter has some direct links from Billibilli, etc etc. Is that good enough to not get me in trouble?] It's Not in the best quality ofc, but let's be thankful we even have this with pretty decent audio! |

That being said the 'faceplates' seem to be the collectables, Geats' being the gun chamber and bike handle |

I hope Geats becomes the de facto gunslinger Kamen Rider. His gunplay reminds me of Kiramai Yellow.
|
It looks like his gun hasn't flipped into the longer nozzle but can still shoot?
Also is that supposed to be his bike when he's doing his Finisher? Is it all CGI or is it just for the Finisher? |
My own thoughts: yep, definitely a cool, cocky gunslinger. (No clue what he's saying of course, but looks like he's having a good time) That gun spin is just too cool! "The bike, which transforms into a giant fox, is the finisher" is so wonderfully over-the-top? The jingles being mostly music after the wordiness of Saber/Revice is nice!

There's probably a real one but the bike laws have been limiting bike usage for the last bunch of years so it wouldn't surprise me if Toei decided it wasn't worth the hassle and that a CG bike can be used more |

I always prefered swords than guns but it's refreshing to see a gunman KR.
What is not refreshing though is the changing halves gimmick (Build, Saber, now Geats). While it's not bothering me at all, it screams "we have no idea anymore". |
I see we are bringing back Yua's fidget spinner for Geats's gun, haha... I like the voice for the belt and the actor sounds quite cool. Definitely getting some Genius Gamer M vibes from him.

the funny thing about it though is it's kinda the opposite direction of Build (half gimmick) and something like Zero-One (Takahashi previous work).
Build and Zero-one are very science/technological evolution rider and the gimmicks were mostly based on animals/creatures appearances. While Geats, if rumors are true for the other riders, are "animal riders" (fox, tanuki, cat, panda etc) but the gimmick might be "technology", as if you were in a video game and chose an avatar with a certain appearance, and then you can equip whatever you want depending the class/playstyle you are/you want (so far Magnum and Boost for Geats) They're really pushing the video game aspect further than just references to genres like Ex-Aid (Geats has this "ready! fight!" sound etc) |

Probably since Saber himself doesn't really do that. The parts changing are more like armaments anyway and once he gets his full set he just defaults to that. Cause you can still make base Saber with just Brave Dragon. With W Cyclone Joker, you need Cyclone and Joker. Same with Build Rabbit Tank, Rabbit and Tank are necessary. I'd say Geats is kind of similar but also not because we know he has a base form. But I'd still say it's closer to those two than Saber was because Geats has a signature look (Kinda like Plat and Sword Form for Den-O) when combining two different components. They key difference here is Saber is "complete" with just Brave Dragon, while Geats is "complete" with Magnum and Boost. |
Ooooo, the clip is cool, just wish I could see more of the screen. The actor's voice and tone is great, from what I could make out of what he said he sounds very confident/self assured, my wife who knows a good bit more Japanese than I do said he came off as more arrogant than cocky in a way? But she doesn't know enough to give like full line translations confidently or I would share some
Tbh the half-and-half thing doesn't bother me much, I wouldn't really count Saber as one personally even if aesthetically he feels a bit like one, so if we consider build the last proper half-and-half rider that was like 5 years ago now so, yeah doesn't bother me much I do really love that the faceplates work how I thought they did! Very excited to get my hands on this belt! (This may also be biasing me to enjoy the half-and-half nature of the design lol) My wife has pointed out that the faceplates are going to be hard to display when not on the belt though. Here's hoping bandai will sell us a $50 hunk of plastic that does nothing but hold them for display purposes (honestly it might be nice if they sold basically "hollow belts" just for displaying them on?) |
For anyone who needs it, here's (persumably) a transcript in English
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FYcUALYW...g&name=900x900 (Personally, I hear "Magnum! Boost! Grand Victory!" for the finisher jingle) |

Wanted to point out something my wife said to me. Some of the words Geats are using are specifically rude word choices. For example he uses "omae" for "you", which is a rude way of referring to someone in Japan, and this adds to his arrogant vibe overall.
Speaking of, for anyone who's seen the slightly longer movie cam footage, the line after he says "Kamen Rider Geats" seems to be "そのことばをお前は信じるか" ("Sono kotoba wo omae shinjiru ka") which mean something along the lines of "Would you believe it?", or alternatively "If you can believe it" (literally translated it means "Is that [something] you would believe?") So the full interaction is Quote:

I think it's either "Duel on" or "Dual On" when the second half is equipped.

While "omae" was the one I specifically remember my wife mentioning by name (bc she was trying to figure out that one line for a bit), I know she seemed to find his whole tone very arrogant |

just saw the plot on the rider wiki. so this is going to be like Ryuki? riders fighting each other~
|
I wonder if, considering Geats' arrogant personality and dialogue in his cameo, he'll have an arc of initially just participating in the Desire Grand Prix for fun/thrills, then gradually becoming more genuinely heroic, so he can stand up against the inevitable big bad once they reveal themselves?
|
I think there's gonna be a plot twist where the company is basically responsible for the fact that the Jamato are attacking to begin with, for reasons involving the battles not happening where civilians are.

Ha, I just thought they could flip the concept of the show around if at first all the riders were friends or at least positive towards each other, and towards the end the competition would make them enemies. But, really, for the sake of a happy ending, then you still have to reconcile everyone. |

If the inspiration for the Desire Grand Prix is games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, I feel like we're definitely going to get quite a few scenes of Riders fighting other Riders. Whether it be for points, or just to prevent their competition from killing a Jamato that they're going after.

We need an episode with a sniper who's just camping and kill stealing and everyone has to work together to deal with him.
|
Another option for conflict: some riders are in alliance with monsters / they themselves are kaijins, disguised as participants. The riders are trying to figure out who it is, as a result they attack each other and now they are all enemies.
|
By the way, an interesting thought occurred to me: if the Geats were teasing the return of the past, not a rider, but a character, I would like it to be Hiromi. The guy who was supposed to die in the first episode, but became a rider, and continues to be an important character and audience favorite even without armor, deserves to be Tobei Tachibana of the Reiwa era. Imho, of course.

Sort of random but I was thinking about this today, we were talking couple weeks ago or so about if Geats would be changed at all because of the assassination of Shinzo Abe... But it occurred to me that it's pretty unlikely they did make any major changes considering they slapped a gun on the key visual poster for the show, and seem to be hyping up the characters skills with a gun.... which feels like something they would not have done if they wanted to tiptoe around a shocking assassination done with a homemade gun??
Like it might have been too late to make Geats less gun themed overall, but I feel like they would have not included a rifle in the poster if they were worried about reminding people of the assassination? Like maybe something changed but to me this signals that they probably decided it wasn't worth making changes |
