Currently marathoning my way through Akibaranger Season 1 in preparation for the awesomeness of Season 2 this weekend :D

Been watching some more Akibaranger since my DVD came. And I can easily say that's it's a contender for my favorite series.

I've been watching Go-onger the last couple of days. Finished episode 4 last night. I'm liking it so far. The only thing that I don't like is Souske's voice. It can be a little grating at times. I like the character just fine it's just the voice I don't care for. I know I know...superficial.

Seems like how I felt with Jan's voice when I started with Gekiranger. :lol Sosuke did grow on me a lot though, to the point that I can confidently say he's my favorite Go-onger.

I really enjoyed Jan's voice and energy, even from the start.
Yeah, he was an obvious copy of Ban, personality wise, but Jan just did it better, IMO :p

I still think Ban was way more likable and fun. Jan jsut had too many characters quirks and his made up language could grate on me. Sousuke really does have an odd voice.

By the way I'm up to episode 12 of Akibaranger again. It's been too long since I'd watched Season 1 and I'm happy to report it's just as glorious the second time through as the first. Can't wait for Season 2 raws to start popping up! :D

Eh. I think my issue with Ban was position. Ban was a high ranked police officer. He really shouldn't have been acting like that, or at the very least, not be getting away with it all the time. He commanded respect with his team despite not deserving it, it felt like they followed his lead because he was the loudest (Hoji would've made a better leader. Not as fun, most certainly not, but in universe it would've made more sense).
Jan is acknowledged as a beginner and treated as such. He's not the leader of the team, and it's just easier to see him acting like he does and why everyone puts up with it (And he does mature, which Ban doesn't).

Though, his made up words can get grating, I'll give you that.

Zowazowa was the one that made sense because it signaled an enemies appearance. The others felt unnecessarily confusing.

Ban on the other hand led the team not by choice, but because they had no Red, seeing as the previous one had been injured and started Fire Squad secretly. Ban was chosen and given that role by Doggie because of the potential seen in him. His attitude and personality had nothing to do with the decision but his skills and talents had everything to do with it. He may have been inexperienced in police work overall, but his skills were unquestionable.
