Started the new Trigun series. It was fine, but the writing felt...off... The characters all seem much more one-note than before, and a lot of plot developments that are spoilers in the original are just the back story of this one. It really reminds me of Ghost in the Shell, with the more recent releases basically being watered down versions of the original.

Still, I'm going to give it more of a chance. It's only the first episode, after all - I haven't given it enough chance to prove me wrong yet.

Finished both Gundam: Witch from Mercury and Demon Slayer Mugen Train yesterday.

I have mixed feelings on Gundam. The series seems like it's trying to do too much at once. There's too many elements that just don't feel like they're that important yet. Here's hoping they pay off in the end. At least the season ended on a pop, though. Jeez.

Mugen Train was just Mugen Train with an opening and recap every episode. It was fine, but I prefer it as a movie, only because it's faster to get through.

I started watching Sun And Moon on DVD. I'd seen 11 episodes on Pokemon TV and
it looked good. Since Ultra Legends came in I'm watching all of Sun And Moon. I need to
order Ultra Legends in a few days for a full run of Gen 7 episodes.

Found the Skull Man anime on DVD.

Didn't really realize that one existed!

Decided to get it cause the odds of finding it again are slim.

Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Sailor Stars

Finally saw the end of what Dic brought over and it was a decent finish. Viz had
dropped the US release for Sailor Stars.

Also I can see the first Netflix year of Pocket Monsters. Pretty ordered Master Journeys
so hopefully there won't be a delay to start it.

The bouncing around all 8 regions is a bit tricky to follow.

Hopefully Horizons (Series XXVI) will stay in Paldea.

Watch Guilty Crown. Feelings are mixed. It seems to be interesting, but at the same time, the same concept was previously implemented much better.

Mashle is the best. That unicorn skeleton. :lolol

Started rewatching Digimon Adventures. Very childish, but the plot is still good and interesting.

Finished Sailor Stars on Viz DVD.

I liked it but it was too crammed for a 34 part series.

Watched Miracle leap Pretty Cure. The 1:15 hour allotment of the All-Star films in this franchise is clearly not enough, so the old teams essentially just resort to fighting. But I continue to be amazed at how brilliantly the Pretty Cure writes villains and their motivations in such films. Many, including more "adult" works, should learn from them.

I never finished Serial Experiments Lain, so I decided to start that up again recently. Here's hoping I finish it this time. I love the concept and the atmosphere.

Watching Dr. Stone, but it left me with a question about one of its plot points and whether there is a contradiction.

SPOILERS: When the Retrieval Team finds the Island Master, he is Soyuz's father and not only is he stone, but smashed. Closer inspection reveals that his parts are much too discolored and a clear indication that he can't be revived.

Why won't the revival fluid work in this instance? People have been smashed and reassembled before. Senku and many others were petrified for a ridiculously long time!

My Sailor Moon set is the Dic Dub for Series III And IV so streaming the first 2 series.

I bought Sailor Moon Sailor Stars as that was a US release for the last
run.

I'm starting Sailor Moon S next. S is where the Dic Dub starts on my
set so I will see it as it was on in the USA in the 90's.

Metallic Rouge is a thing if anybody wants a new henshin hero anime. The studio that makes the My Hero Academia anime is behind it, Towa Tei does the theme song, and the protagonist is voiced by Yume Miyamoto aka the voice of Zenkai Magine and Rikka Takarada.

It's also helmed by someone who's done Tokusatsu before, namely Ultraman Decker.

I've been watching it, and I can definitely say the animation for the fight scenes (and by extension the "suit" designs) are top-notch! I feel the story's pretty basic, with a few good hooks, but I'll probably talk more about it once it's finished, since I don't know what my thoughts are on it so far, which is not to say I haven't been enjoying it.

Speaking of Tokusatsu Henshin Hero Based Anime... I watched Gridman Universe, and it's fantastic! I won't get into details, but it was definitely something special.

Just want to address some misinformation from my end, Towa Tei worked with two other folks on the soundtrack, not the opening theme. Sorry about that.

My Sailor Moon set is the 90s Dic Dub cast starting with Sailor Moon S. I need to stream the first 2 from the Dic Dub run to synch things up.

I won't reveal the details here, but it doesn't paint the guy in the best light.

What the hell happened with One Piece openers?

When I found the One Piece channel on Pluto (free but with ads streamer which has Power Rangers on "Forever Kids" and TokuSHOUTsu and Godzilla channels to say the least), the opener wasn't accurate to the arc in question. It possessed no cast and crew credits. It also felt like it was from an arc or two back.

I checked Crunchyroll and the same issue exists. The English Dub of Kuma's scattering of the crew before the Summit War has the correct opener, "Share The World", but when I switched to Japanese audio the episode possessed the cover opener... which is clearly not the original intent.

It's not the only shift.

Jumped ahead to Luffy's fight with Warden Magellan in Impel Down, and the same false opener is attached to the Japanese audio, but the appropriate song, "Kazewo sagashite", is still connected to the Funimation Dub (but like "Share The World", no song lyric subtitles).

Something has assuredly changed.

That said, the actual War episodes on Pluto had the appropriate song and opener, indicating that not all opening songs have been replaced.
