I finished Akibaranger and I really liked it. Really bummed there's no SHF of Malshina. I plan on getting all the SHF Akibarangers.
I managed to get a few friends to watch Akibarangers too and they really liked it, which was surprising. Malshina made it kind of an easy sell. Ahhahaha, once they saw her they were like, "ok sure I'll give it a shot." Then the comedy and story + action won them over. It's a good show. After I finished it I really wanted to see more Sentai so now I'm about halfway through Zyuranger and I'm enjoying that too. Sentai seems (so far) like Kamen Rider mixed with Ultraman and a little bit of Voltron, (the DaiZyuJin combining robot.) Very cool. |
I still weep that there isn't a season 3 for Akibaranger. Seriously though, Akibaranger is one of those gems that people need to see at some point if they're getting into toku.

Totally agree
|
I'm watching Akibaranger myself, this is way too good haha.
|
it really is. I burned through both seasons in a week. Really enjoyed it.
"Pent-er-gon!?" |
I'm currently watching Megaranger and Sun Vulcan.
|
I switched on Kakuranger and I really enjoy it! Again I have that kind of excitement like with Timeranger and Megaranger, will to watch few episodes a day (it's happening, I started watching on Thursday and 13 episodes is behind me already). Some things here are pretty chaotic, but I like it. Show is a bunch of good action and fun, so I'm looking forward to rest of the season!

Confession time...
I still haven't finished Kyuranger. And I love the show! I have just the last episode to go, but decided I wanted to watch everything else first before the ending and still hadn't seen Episode of Stinger and the movie. Then just kept putting that off. But I recently watched the former and then realized there was a series of tie-in shorts for it that kind of help set up the opening, so I've started on those... But can only find 4 of the 5 High School Wars episodes. Did the 5th never get subbed by anyone? Not that they're really necessary at all, but still found them kind of fun. Will be moving on to the movie now anyway. |

I finished Zyuranger. I liked it. Kind of can't get much more epic then a battle between God and Satan that could potentially destroy the entire world and kill everyone on it.
I'd like to see the original Goranger but I can only find like 20 episodes online. Probably I'll watch Dairanger next since it was the one that followed Zyuranger. Just started watching Kamen Rider Blade so I need something else to bounce between so Dairanger it probably will be. (it's funny to me that Akibaranger the 'unofficial sentai' is the show that got me watching sentai shows.) |
Out of boredom, I am watching the first two episodes of Fiveman on YouTube.
|
Watched Episodes 11-14 of Kakuranger. 11 was fun, I like Saizai's wackiness. 12 was anticlimatic all over (really could've done with being a 2 parter). 13 was boring. 14 was cool, seeing the introduction of a new (awesome) villain and a bit of a different episode structure. I'm pretty 50/50 on the show so far, so hope it picks up from here.
Also watched Episode 1 of GoGoV. Not the greatest opener (bit too light on character/plot), but it was certainly different between the family dynamic, rescuing over a small-sized monster fight, and seeing all the practical footage of the individual mechs was cool. And Timeranger Episodes 1-2. Now that is how you start a series. Absolutely fantastic. Part of me wants to binge the rest, but I'm trying out a few different shows, so I have a good list of things to watch... |

I've got a few on my watchlist right now Carranger, Ohranger, Zyuranger, Jetman, GoGoV, Abaranger, Liveman, Megaranger & Gingaman. I'll get around to watching all of them at some point growing up on MMPR makes Zyu a bit difficult to watch for me. im about 5 episodes in now and can I just say that Mei does NOT help those feelings lol |

Anyway, I love so many Sentai themes, even when they're attached to shows I don't even like :lol Such high energy and fun~ |
Someone turned me on to the Shinkenger theme and as my only exposure to that was Samurai I kinda wanna see how the source material stacks up though admittedly there really isn't much to stack in Samurai's case

Dairanger is a pretty solid choice. Can't go wrong with it!
Gekiranger is my all time favorite, though, so I'm always advocating for it :lol |
Sentai Dairanger is the next one on the chopping block for me. I just have to finish watching Kamen Rider Blade first.
Looking forward to it. I really liked Akibaranger and Zyuranger so I hope they keep being good and interesting shows. |
Pretty new to watching Super Sentai, though I've watched all Power Rangers series. Got into watching Super Sentai with the last third of Kyuranger having only watched odd episodes from Sentai shows here and there.
Just finished my first full series which was Go-Busters and loved it but not sure what my next series should be. I think that's mostly from being put off some by potentially sub-par Power Ranger adaptations. Any suggestions? Atm I'm kinda defaulting to Gokaiger |

15 episodes into Dairanger now.
I'm liking it enough to keep watching, it's slowly growing on me for sure. I find myself missing the Zyuranger crew but I still keep watching it. Some of the monsters are so laughable and incredibly bizarre I kind of can't wait to see what happens next. The lipstick-woman-kaiju,..the one made out of Tofu blocks,...Kabuki-Boy,...crazy stuff. ..and yet, the show is a lot of fun to watch so I keep watching. |
Last episode of Kakuranger is behind me. I really enjoyed that, at some moments it was really funny, crazy, full of action, gripping, but also dramatic, pompous, reflective. I think the message of series finale is very important. It's good that except entertainment, you can look at yourself.

20 episodes into Dairanger.
The white ranger/little kid is kind of a perv, eh? And the talking sword is an interesting character. I like that it scolds the kid like, "quit f**king around and be a man!" Lol |
It's been a looooooong while since I've started a Sentai show, but I just started Bioman. Woo!
I loved the first episode but was pretty lukewarm on episodes two and three. They felt like very standard, recycled 80s sentai plots (though I did like that Yellow Four wasn't immediately eager to join up). Can anyone reassure me that the show picks up eventually? |

Earlier this week I stumbled across an ENGLISH fandub of the series' most infamous moment- (should say "spoilers" but I think that statute of limitations has passed) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp1SritIl9I |

man Diaranger just went dark.
Red ranger is torturing himself to get faster at fighting. And the bad guy realizing that he loves a woman considers that love a weakness, so his solution is to just kill her. Ep 27 Crazy. Never thought I'd like Sentai as much as I like Kamen Rider, Ultraman, or Godzilla ,..but I have to admit I've really liked Zyuranger, Akibaranger, and now Dairanger a whole hell of a lot. They keep surprising me. |
Yeah, that part of Dairanger was intense, especially when he chooses to kill her.
