Story wise I feel like RPM may be one of the best seasons we have gotten. It was kind of serious as far as PR goes with essentially dealing with human extinction. While not terrible persay, the ranger aesthetic and zords are far from my favorite even though the cuteness admittedly lightend things up.
Which season suits/zords would have been better suited to the story? Personally I am inclined to go with Boukenger/OO. The mechs having a sort of construction vibe and what not along with the rescue theme of mercury leads me to believe they would have fit in nicely.

General audience loves to treat Power Rangers as a joke. Do you think the franchise will always be this way? I don'tknow, maybe that'sthe reason I'm having a lovehate relationship with franchise, because it sucks being a fan and people laugh at you because the franchise is a joke even in today's age where everyone claims to be a fan of nerdy franchises because it is cool.

It's just that IGN posted the story about Robert Axelford's passing, and there's always people posting "Lol people still watch Power Rangers?". Granted, IGN is full of assholes, but still.

Yeah, there's was a time when the show was pretty received by everyone back in 90's. But when Saban buy back from Disney, it was just getting worse.

That is the primary reason I hate Neo Saban. They butchered the shows, proving the naysayers that they are right.

It also doesn't help that generals only remember MMPR, and it was extremely 90s and cheesy, that people remembered that it's a joke, when other seasons, even MMPR season 3, is better.

It just sucks, PR is about the same caliber as TMNT, but TMNT is respected and PR is treated as a joke.

Exactly, Saban just in care with the money than in the franchise.

PR has always been view as a silly kids show even long before the Neo Saban era. The original MMPR show was cheesy with bad acting, bad dialogue and goofy writing. When people look back on PR, they remember MMPR because it was the most popular one.

The 2017 PR movie could have changed people's views on Power Rangers like Transformers 07 did with the Transformers series, but that never happen.

So, why the show was praised by the audience back in 90's ?

Simple: it wasn't.

Kids just liked it.

That's the point, kids at day like us was the major audience of the show. If wasn't, the franchise wouldn't exist right now.

Yes. So that doesn't contradict the show being kiddy, silly and cheesy in the eyes of everyone else; nor does it contradict people looking back on it fondly because of nostalgia.
