If youre paying $80 for a figuart, youre doing it wrong. When i was in New York i visited Image Anime, the guy there was impressed that a Brit had heard of them, but their prices were for the most part way overboard. I get they need a profit to cover the expense of running their store, but if i ever make it back, im browsing, not buying.

I totally get that stores have to make their cut, i totally understand that, but Kapow toys in the UK have a preorder up for SHF Agito Shining Form as Bandai is starting to be open to importing them to the UK. Their preorder is for £28 (less than $45 converted). Thats incredibly reasonable and not a huge margin, and this is the trial run to see if the market is suitably there.

Savvy collectors really shouldnt be getting stung by these prices when theres plenty of avenues to get them imported that will cost less in the long run.

I first used Nippon-Yasan for Pteraranger and had no trouble at all. Like it says, you don't have to pay up front and the price ends up a little bit more than it would be to wait for Bluefin to release it on Amazon. I actually just paid for Mammoth Ranger today and it was $53 shipped.

I'm a frequent buyer from Image Anime, since I can travel there by subway, and yeah most of their prices are way too overboard. Their TWE offerings are usually 100 a pop and some of their Sentai figuarts are insane. $65 for Red Buster or for each of the S1 Akibarangers when you can get them dirt cheap at other places is going way over the line.

On the flip-side though, they're one of the best when it comes to bluefin-distributed releases. At least then the prices are in line with every other place. Older Figuarts tend to be reasonably priced as well.

So anyone willing to split the Kyoryuger pack and sell me Pink eh eh?:p:lol

Deciding whether to collect the Mighty Morphin/Zyuranger team. I've never actually bought any sentai figuarts. Actually, I haven't bought a figuart since 2011...

On a side note I did not expect it to be tall. I have it next to my Ryuranger and they remind me of Shaq and Anfernee.

For the first releases of every new Rider series, Bluefin has to wait on Toei waiting on Saban for confirmtion that the series in question is one that won't be licensed for adaptation.

It's a waste of a step and a needless delay, but presumably something Toei feels compelled to hold up due to their partnership with Saban for Power Rangers, since Saban has its hand and own licensing fees tied into the Bluefin SHF Power Rangers releases. It's all the more pointless since Saban abandoned the Power Rider trademark, suggesting even less interest than before.

No kidding! Thus Fourze and Wizard got Bluefin releases, and the same is presumably true of Gaim in a few weeks.

Sure, if you have a interest in the series or the designs, which I assume you do. Looks like you're into Figuarts, so find a series or design you like and enjoy! Just be careful......this can be a slippery and deep rabbit hole, lined to take your bank account.

So you're not really new to Figuarts, just the sentai stuff. Ok. Well, not sure what to say. This is my current addiction. Used to be Marvel Legends, now this. I get what I like, and as a lone deviates from my list of character, I drop out. Guess I'm just weird. :p

I like N-Y's delayed payment and cheaper price (Duh) but I also like Anime Export's order system where you can hold items to ship together. Unfortunately they make you pay upfront, and this is $5 more expensive to boot. Jeez.

Check sites like Mandarake and Jungle and you should be able to get everyone but Deka Red for 3500-4000 yen each. Deka Red is actually the cheapest one to get, since I usually see it going for around 1200-1500 yen.

Yes any no. Remember though web exclusives can only be purchased directly in Japan. Any middleman service you use will charge a premium/fee on top of the normal price. This will vary from site to site. Otherwise there would be no profit for them.

Yup. An exclusive is the same price as any other regular figure. It's those middleman fees that jacks the price by double.

When buying figures on Amiami and HLJ, etc, you have to remember that they usually give you a good 25% discount, because they're big retailers and can afford to price things competitively. Exclusives are the same price as a regular figure would be WITHOUT that discount, making most around the price of 4000 yen.

Most middleman charge 500-1000 yen for services, which I don't think is unreasonable (if you're paying more than that, find a new middleman). Even if Bandai allowed international orders through their website, the cost of flat-rate postage and the fact they wouldn't hold orders to combine with things you have in later months, would probably be even more expensive.

ever since pre-ordering shin I have come to a conclusion after looking at other figuarts to get and pre-order. figuarts are visual plastic cocaine. setting a limit on which ones you want is a must if you don't want to go overboard.

I'm like you, didn't collect much as a kid, at least compared to others on the boards. Didn't have much, so I was limited to my top likes. But good to see you enjoying the hobby again!

As Dogu mentioned, you can try places like Mandarake, but those shipping charges can be a killer, even with middleman. But don't trust me on that. I stay strictly American, and take it in the rear from Amazon and IA!:p Rather take the charges straight up, but know I'm missing out on some great cheaper deals out there.

Today my Figuarts Hurricane Blue and Yellow arrived! I haven't seen any in-hand pics of these two, so I thought I'd show them off.

Hurricane Yellow is really excellent. I love the shade of yellow he is, it totally pops. Hurricane Blue is likewise cool, but the shade of blue is darker then it should be (although oddly it comes out the right color on photos) and I've been having some trouble with posing her arms. Getting her in her role call pose was a nightmare.

Sadly no Triple Gadget! Oh well.

I like how Blue has silver legs, like she has mail on legs and arms, makes her seem more armored than the others. I look forward to getting my set in someday. And maybe someday I'll give the show a shot, but then again, that's not all that likely.

I got Blue Spader in today. It's nice, but I think Wizard's bike has been the best release in a while, what with the extra cloak adding a ton of character to the display. Anyway, happy to have Blade's bike finally. Hopefully Garren and bike should be here end of the week.

I just hope we see some more Sentai Figuarts. WonFest didn't show anything new at all so right now unless any new ones are announced at the next event they show off new stuff, the MMPR Yellow/Tiger Ranger is the last Sentai Figuart that is coming out. :mad:
