Ah okay, that makes sense, I mean he could've changed his name if he wanted but I like the name Riderman anyways. Also he technically didn't die, because I know he comes back later, and in the Manga it explained he survived after the explosion in V3. Quote:
Yeah Kuuga is one of the most awesome Riders there is. The real world issues connecting with the bad guys is one of the things I enjoyed the most about Kuuga. |
Just finished the first episode of Hibiki.
Not really sure what to say. It was..definitely different from any season of Kamen Rider I've watched to date. Very unique style, with some interesting cinematography, the use of sound and music is also quite interesting and incorporated heavily into it. The pace, mood, feel...I dunno, just very different. |
Watched X episode 28 and it was great to see Keisuke get an upgrade and that totally explains his finisher in All Kamen Rider Generations 2 about the Vacuum Hell Wheel or whatever it's called. Awesome new finisher and Dai-Henshin call I love it. I love that he is empowered from V3 kind of like how Ichigou and Nigou empowered V3. Shiro is totally awesome and I think I might watch V3 after this, I've been wanting to see him and Riderman for a while. Spider Napoleon was a definite pain in the ass but still G.O.D. can't seem to overcome Keisuke's and Tachinbana's plans, great to see the Heroes have the edge over the villains.

Episodes 11 and 12 of Kuuga! Kuuga taps into the tokustasu of the past as this episode he fights the Rhino from Spider-Man! Okay not really but it might as well be the Rhino.
Godai develops a new, more powerful kick to defeat him and thus we get Kuuga's first true Rider Kick! Also Grongi are very strange. Now aside from having some sort of game which involves killing a lot of people, Rhino is attacking anyone who idles in a heavy vehicle which is a bit random compared to any of the grongi |
Glad to see people enjoying Kuuga. I loved it. It does slow down a little bit for a few storyarcs, but then when he starts developing his golden powers, it picks up again, and if I recall, stays strong for the rest of the show.

Up to episode 4 of Hibiki.
Just gonna post what I posted on Facebook earlier when I was watching the episodes. "So I just started watching Kamen Rider Hibiki. Up to episode 4 now and...I like it, but it just has a really strange feel to it. Some really interesting cinematography and stylistic choices, and the use and incorporation of music and sound is both fitting given the theme and adds an interesting weight to a lot of the action as well as the overall feel of things. It's weird though, the show feels more like a Showa era season than Heisei and the way each episode is paced and flows, I dunno just gonna take some getting used to." |

It may be true that Toei planned a Henshin Ninja Arashi reboot but Hibiki was always planned to be a Rider Show. Its that different from Heisei because Takadera wanted it to be. Takadera produced Hibiki as the heisei version of Amazon and thats why they dont transform in the traditional sense etc. The whole thing with the henshin ninja show had nothing to do with anything regarding Hibiki itself. |

Decided to check out Super Hero Taisen Z. Probably not a good idea since I don't like Wizard OR Kyouryger, but I want to see what kind of interesting cameos are made.
Does anybody know if the net movies are subbed yet? |
Quote:
As someone who was way more forgiving of the first SHT than most, Z is just all kinds of bad :( |
Dang, can't find them on youtube anywhere.
Also, oh boy, am I in for something. So far the yellow Gobuster and the annoying rabbit found a literal spaceball and the sweet shiney guy is in trouble for not beating up Wizard. I agree with his boss. :x |
Watched more Kuuga it was good yadda yadda yadda. But thats not what I'm here for.
Since I plan on finishing Decade, what movies are actually important for the whole decade story? |

Still watching SHTZ. Now Gavan and the silver Gokaiger are fighting space robots.
Also, HOLY SHIT the Kyouryugers were annoying. The red ranger is a pompous doofus. I can see why people don't like this movie, it's probably not doing the characters justice. I certainly hope more cameos show up soon, it's kind of just Wizard and a bunch of Sentai teams now and I'm halfway done. EDIT: Oh fuck it's Shampoo... |
Currently watching episode 9 of Hibiki and the show's continuing to grow on me. Something I've found that I really like is how the show has a lot of quiet moments or at least moments that don't have anyone really saying anything. It just has some music or sound accompanying whatever is currently going on and that's it. And again I love the overall look and feel of the show. Just the environments, especially all the time spent in the mountains and just outside of the city is really quite beautiful.

I finished SHTZ a while ago. That was an awful crossover team-up. The main focus was on Gavan out of the suit, and Gobuster yellow, who was hyper-uninteresting. The other Gobusters barely appeared, even Wizard hardly played a part. The Kyouryugers played even less of a part, and what screentime they had made them look awful. Also, why was OOO at the penultimate showdown despite speaking once and not appearing at all before?
That movie didn't flatter anyone. Also, it was just plain terrible. It had the same plot every Rider/Sentai movie ever has, the villains were dumb and the dialogue and just general construction was shoddy. There were some really bad effects and stuntwork. |

Sorry, I guess I need to be more specific: The idiot from Wizard who thought he was a wizard at first. |
I'm just glad it didn't do the predictable as hell, but still forever loved by Toei "OMG THIS HERO TURNED EVIL! IT'S SUCH A SURPRISE AND THEY'RE TOTALLY EVIL!!!" thing they constantly do with Decade and the Gokaigers.
|
Up to 19 on Wizard, Nitoh is ok, I expected to dislike him but he isn't that bad, and he goes surprisngly well with Haruto.
Like Donuts and Mayo I guess. |
I'll just be burning through the rest of Decade today. I'm on the Shinkenger crossover episode now...wish me luck.

Anyway, I needed a break from all the Decade, so I watched the first episode of Gaim, since I don't wanna fall behind. It was pretty good. This municipality they all live in...I'm pretty sure there's some dark underbelly to the whole thing, considering it's Gen Urobochi we're dealing with here. |
Besides Gaim and Blade for LWW, I havent watched anything Rider-ish.
So I have a few options for Christmas break, A- Finish Wizard then start -Ryuki -? B- Forget Wizard and start -Ryuki -? |

But Im still now sure what to watch after. |
OOO is a great series.
|
It is good but does tend to drag a bit in the middle. Or at least it felt that way watching it week to week. Maybe it doesn't when marathoned though. Still a great show despite any issue it might have.

Anyways, up to episode 17 of Hibiki. We've met what I assume are all the main riders of the series by this point and they are all pretty cool in their own way. Zanki and his disciple are pretty awesome, love the guitar and the more developed dynamic we got with them as master and apprentice. I know we get a bit of that with Akira and Ibuki, but I dunno I just prefer the way Todoroki and Zanki interact. Hibiki himself is, of course, awesome. I like having a somewhat older protagonist and his interactions with Adachi are pretty good, just waiting for them to finally officially become master and apprentice. I really enjoy the character interactions this season, and again the style and use of music and sound is just superb. Some of my favorite scenes are the ones with no spoken dialogue, just music and sound. Some great scenery too. Not super super big on the fights with the makamou. They're fun enough, even if the effects are pretty cheesy, and I like the way that the oni ultimately take them out. But they're not the big highlight to me. Kinda like how I preferred the interactions between the riders in Ryuki (both in battle and outside of it) than when they were fighting the mirror monsters. The fights with the douji and hime are ok, but aside from the berserk seemed to end way way too fast. |
