I just finished watching episode eight of Ryuki. Ryuki so far is pretty good, but there are some things I think could of been done better. Such as when scissors was introduced I thought he was going to last longer, but he didnt. When he died I didn't really feel much of anything except, wow his monster ate him alive.
The mystery of why the riders are killing each other to me is one of the reasons I watch these episodes on after another as well as to see the new riders. The similarities with Gaim are there just, when a rider dies in Gaim I think I'm gonna feel sad for the character that dies, because we got to now more about the character. |
Yeah, Scissors really was mostly a throwaway rider, he was mostly there to introduce a few of the concepts of the rider war and drive home that this is a fight to the finish. For the most part the other riders get a bit more to them than he did.
|
Watched X 29 and 30 which featured Chameleon Phantom and Leech Dracula. I love how Keisuke just outsmarts the bad guys so easily and laughs at them. Love his new transformation pose and phrase. The Vacuum Hell Wheel is so awesome too. Also X Rider vs X Rider was pretty awesome too.

Decade: Black/Black RX
Ok, so is this an AR world, because I know Black and RX were originally the same dude. Also, what is with Kaito constantly being like "AHA! This treasure is mine!" then saying "Oh...well you know what Tsukasa? Nevermind." not five minutes later? |

Episode 17 of Kuuga, not in love with it for once. Why you might ask? Its a clip show episode. One that isn't necessary this early on in the series no less.

Up to episode 19 now, which looks to be focused on Todoroki. Given that the last couple episodes seemed to focus a bit on Ibuki so it seems this little block here was a way to explore their characters a bit more, which is nice to have. Seeing Ibuki as a bit of an indecisive guy while he was out with Kasumi whereas as a rider he seems more sure of himself, even foregoing Hibiki's offering of help to defeat the makamou that he would be much more suited to fighting, despite his injuries, persisting without Akira, without his weapon, etc. He almost seems a bit reckless, and towards the end of the episode it almost seemed set up in a way that you'd see them offing him in. Pretty cool Makamou this week as well. Like I said I've not been a huge fan of them, but this one actually was rather nifty. |

EDIT: Ugh...Narutaki. Stop blaming Decade for everything, what are you anyway? All he does is show up and talk to himself about how "This is all Decade's fault". |

I'm 15 episodes into Den-O. I'm not sure but I think Mega Red was the hostage taker in this episode. Just a question, sorry if it was asked before, Urataros is a turtle and Kintaros is a bear and Ryutaros apparently is a dragon (I thought he was a cat) so what's Momotaros supposed to be? A bull?

Todoroki is so awesome.
Watching him rock out with the ape disc animal playing air guitar after taking out three giant enemy crabs at the start of episode 19. Love it hahaha. Not sure who my favorite rider this season is though. Probably need more time with them all to come to that decision. It's not like Ryuki where Zolda/Kitaoka or Gaim with Bravo becoming an obvious fav for me right off the bat. |
Ugh...Apollo Geist...
EDIT: What?!? What?!? Wataru what?!? Why did Wataru tell Tsukasa that he needed to destroy the worlds? Why? What? Why? Also, what movie do I need to watch to get the ending? because they advertise it at the end, and All Riders won't resolve it; I should know, I've seen that movie like three times. EDIT 2: I just read Matrix's essay again...there is no movie. Now I get why he hates this show! I-Agh! Ok...do I hate Decade? No. Do I like Decade? No. What do I hate? The ending. Ok, the show overall...stuff I liked. Yuusuke, say what you will about his "usefulness" He was the best character in that show. Stuff I didn't like. The ending, and stuff never being expanded upon, and the inconsistencies in character in both Tsukasa and Kaito. Onore Deekaydoe's production team and writing staff! So, current rankings for Riders series I've seen: 1. Den-O 2. Fourze 3. Kiva 4. Decade |

Den-O 16. Thanks to Sideswipe Prime I got the peach connection with Momo. This was probably the first episode of Den-O I wasn't so into. The hostage plot was really meh and I'm now pretty sure that was Mega Red. And Ryu is one scary Imagin! He's pretty murderous. And I'm pretty interested to find out what's with Airi, I mean she pretty loopy like she's on something. |
Watched Kamen Rider X 31 and 32 and 31 was a little lackluster but got better when the focus went to Keisuke and defeating the Lizard Viking, who felt a bit lack luster as a villain too. It picked up when King Dark realized he has to do this himself. 32 was an absolute fantastic episode and one of my favorites, Ant Capone was a great villain. Love the Vacuum Hell Wheel but I am don't like that he has stopped using the Ridol, I love that weapon it was badass but Keisuke seems to be fighting plenty effectively without it. I love how it feels like the enemies are under-powered against X Rider and try to think of plans to defeat him that fail horribly even when they try to get the design drawings they fail horribly. Keisuke is just so amazing.
Can't wait for the next episode Nigou, V3 and X Rider together against King Dark? This sounds super, freaking awesome. |

but seriously, he always shows up all like "I WILL DESTROY YOU DECADE!" only to send his minions after Tsukasa and co. and then immediately run away as soon as Decade starts to attack him. Also, what was with him suddenly becoming a Fangire? |
And now you can see what I mean. The writers had no idea what to do with Decade. They just shrugged and went "This'll be kinda neat" without explaining a damn thing. Stuff just happens.
It's also why Tsukasa's personality changes on a dime. One episode he'll be the embodiment of hope, the next he'll be a complete asswipe and have Yuusuke do everything, but let Tsukasa have the motivational speech at the end as if he learned a damn thing. It really felt like they had no idea what they were doing. It's why mystery angles fail if you just have the mystery but never do anything to explain it. Fuck sea cucumbers. |

It's like the writers were like, "LET'S MAKE AN ANNIVERSARY SERIES!" Then some other guy said "AND LET'S MAKE THE FIGHT SCENES EPIC!" Then a third guy said, "and let's have him meet previous Riders!" and then they collectively said "and that's it!" and when I read your essay Matrix, You made reference to parents being angry that they had to take their kids to a movie to finish the story, which was stupid on Toei's part for attempting to nickel and dime people just to finish the story. I was rather "eh" on Decade, but then when I saw that it lacked an ending, it caused me to not like it. As for Tsukasa, that's bothered me since the beginning. |
Is it safe for me to say the only reason I watched decade was for the Shinkenger crossover.

EDIT: Aaaaaand I just finished Ryuki 12. Interesting revelations on Yui's brother and what his experiments had to do with Yui and Ren's now comatose girlfriend, Eri. Also...Ren's contract monster is kind of a dick. I mean I realize that none of them are even remotely friendly, but for NO REASON the Bat monster showed up in the mirror of Eri's room, like it was mocking Ren for having to rely on it when it was the one who (apparently) put her into a coma. How much sentience do contract monsters have, if it's ever explained. I mean they gotta be pretty intelligent but are all of em smart enough to pull off a prickish move like bat did? |
Den-O 17. OK some revelations on this episode. Airi is married but has amnesia it seems so I guess that explains a little bit why she seems to zone out often. And I would hazard a guess that her husband is that guy that keeps appearing in the past. And he would be played by Kiriya from Hibiki. Just hope his not as annoying here as he was in Hibiki.

Yeah that does suck, about as much as watching Decade before Faiz, you basically learn the big spoiler in that. Still it got me excited I love Ichimonji in the manga, so it'll be great to see him in the show for the first time. |
I watched the Final 3 episodes of Kamen Rider X and like all the other shows I've watched I am sad that it ended. I absolutely loved seeing Nigou, V3 and X all fighting together that was brilliant. Ichimonji is very intelligent and badass, I really want to watch the original series now. V3 is very brutal and awesome too. Some real big shockers at the end too didn't see that coming with King Dark and it was an awesome ending how X Rider took him out, definitely made up for the lack of the Ridol. Centipede Youkihi was meh, but Tiger Nero and Scorpion Geronimo Jr. were some pretty effective generals there. Overall, a really wonderful series and makes me want to watch more Showa era Rider. Also Keisuke Jin developed from a lost man to a cocky, confident, intelligent, laugh in the face of his foes badass character. Kamen Rider X is simply amazing, and I am so glad I own his figuart already.
Also I finished a series so now it's time to make my signature even bigger! and totally not know what to watch next. |

Some even display loyalty, or at least the capacity to hate. Then there's some like Magnugiga, who (and I'm all but certain appeared at the point you're at) doesn't care about anything. He literally does nothing. He's probably the most easy-going monster ever. I don't know if this is loyalty or apathy. |

Yup, Magnugiga is Zolda's. He's hyper docile. The most extreme thing he ever did was moo when he's summoned. He takes direction well, though.
The exact nature of MM's is explored over time. |
I was initially let down by how lifeless Magnugiga was, but that was all swept aside when I realized that Kitaoka didn't need any other foils or anything to distract his screen presence. :p

Is it terrible that I keep trying, and failing miserably, to do Hibiki's salute? Hahaha.
Up to episode 23, nothing too big to talk about, though it was pretty cool in the episodes prior seeing a pair of douji and hime working together and the fusion of the makamou. |

Got up to Leangle's debut in Blade. I don't know whether it's the cylindrical head or the horrible green/gold mix, but I'm not a fan of that suit at all.
