I was wondeirng what was up with bigger box, myself.

I think they're just aiming for a more collector oriented aesthetic for packaging. It makes sense to be moving in that general direction.

I like it, but at the same time I'd like something that'd make checking paint apps/accessories easier. A slip-over or an opening panel, perhaps.

Maybe they arent planning on taping the box so you could just open the cover and see everything inside.

How often do you ever pick up a figuart in hand to purchase? I don't know that I've really ever done that. If there were more retail shops that carried these things in the US that might make sense. In Japan the window box certainly would, but here it doesn't honestly.

Did Bluefin show off anything new at the Toy Fair?

I've seen a few crop up at Hastings out in Richmond and as I recall, Collectibles Etc. in Lexington gets them in from time to time. TRU got Shinken Red and Gold in when I was working there over the holidays back in 2011, though I doubt they continued the practice.

Just saying that I'd like the option, though in my experience boxes like the new one are less prone to "bloating" after opened. So there's that.

What's taking them so long to announce the Gaim and Gokaiger/Super Megaforce Figuarts in the US?

I've picked up a few in person, but I agree. That and Figuarts' QC when it come to paint is usually perfect, if not pretty dang close.

So judging by the Toy Fair pics, Tricera/Blue Ranger isn't going to come with an extended lance. Has this been confirmed and I just missed it?

Very sad indeed. It would suck if he didn't come with the elongated version, really wanted to pose him with it.

Well if you absolutely knew you'd never pose him with the separated version, you could always glue them together I guess (or buy another one to do so). Either that, or take one from an older toy.

The accessory count is always listed on the Japanese website. You'll have to machine translate it, but it's usually pretty clear. There's only one version of the lance (and the separated version).

No blade or gun form of the ranger stick again either.

Hrm. My Agito Shining Form shipped last night. Did he release early? The only date I ever saw for him was 2/28 and Nippon-Yasan is usually about a week behind everyone else when it comes to shipping new releases.

Anyone know when the Kyoryu Green and Blue figures come out again? I remember it was later this month.

I'm fortunate enough to know several physical locations where I can pick up Figuarts in person.

I've gotten to know a bunch of local dealers through conventions that I keep in touch in with. There's also a ton of comic book and anime shops in my area that stocks Figuarts.

Web exclusives that aren't bluefin carried are another story though.



My contact in Japan says it should be Saturday.

Exclusives are always released on the last weekend of the month.

That's not always true. While say, Psyga, etc. are being released on the 22nd, in December, the exclusives (at least Blade King) were released on the 21st. Probably due to a holiday, but still, not always the last weekend.

Edit: Similarly, Shaider was released on the 22nd of November, also not the last weekend.

So after getting Figma Link and Samus, I kind of see why people are happy to see Kabuto 2.0 use those type of hands. They are easy to put on and easy to take off. At the same time though, if the hole gets loose or something, there is no way to keep the hands from just sliding out.

Oh yeah, and I also wish now that they would give the Figuarts a holder for the hands and a baggie to put in their accessories as those are some really cool unexpected bonuses I got with Samus and Link. Of course, the best part of those two was getting stands packed WITH them.

Anyway, has Amazon shipped out anyone's Garren yet?

That's my concern with them, as well. Especially since some of my SICs, which have that style of wrist peg, are loose and slide out too easily.

We've seen them on Kabuto and I think one of the Gaim Figuarts.

Well since that's the case, this should be fun and much easier for swapping. Be cool if they also borrow the hand holder that the Figmas come with.

Damn. If there's one thing I hate about my Figuarts collection, its the hands. The Haruhi cast's ones are all terrible. Only time I've ever broken a figure.

My Link and Samus did, admittedly feel a lot less fragile then them, though and they were pretty old so maybe they've updated them?
