Honestly, shows like Kappa Mickey that tried to be Anime felt like they were just jumping on a bandwagon.

It's the same reason why I don't enjoy shows that uses the same kind of not anime but still close enough art style. Could never watch shows like Martin Mystery because of it.

The only quote-unquote pseudo Anime style shows I could get into were Teen Titans and Shaolin Showdown.
I tried to get into a lot of others (Monkey Force, aforementioned Kappa Mikey, Puffy Ami Yumi, etc), but none of them worked or clicked for me.

I like it, it's genuinely fun without being dumbed down for kids, IMO it's pretty good, though I haven't watched that much of it.

Gravity Falls is a great show. I love it. You should definitely check it out.
In the show, the only "Weak points" I can think of are the main character's crush, because it plays out like a typical awkward crush, so those scenes are tired, but the rest of the show is funny, energetic, and great.

I think Pseudo anime's were my entire childhood outside of Ed edd and Eddy and actual anime, shows like Kappa Mikey, Ami Yumi and shaolin showdown were my must watch shows.

Shaolin Showdown and Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! are like two of my favourite toons.

I love Xiaolin Showdown and how unpredictable the show could be. I just wish they gave the show more closure because they left it opening for another season that we never got…oh well, there's Xaiolin Chronicles to look forward to at least.

I love Shaolin Showdown, but Hyperforce...I just couldn't get into it, not helped that about 90% of my exposure to it was trying to catch episodes of SPD on Jetix and it was surrounded by an hour long block of Super Robot Monkey Team before and after Power Rangers, all out of order (I know it was out of order since the Black monkey kept changing White in random episodes aired).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Chronicles, but I do hope they get the original VAs (Or better copies). I love Tara Strong, but her voice does not fit Jack in the slightest.

Showdown is getting a sequel series to air...Sometime this year called Xiaolin Chronicles.

Oh, and through my Beast Wars rewatch, I'm realizing just how much I completely loathe Terrorsaur's voice. Can't he die any sooner? Seriously? Give me Quickstrike and Inferno anyday.

Yea I just looked up the voice cast on Wikipedia and I am takening with a grain of sault but the original cast is so far coming back

Really? :lol Him getting superized by that Raw energon was one of my favorite episodes. The absolute best of Season One though was Starscream infecting Waspintaor. "UNACCEPTIBLE!"

We haven't heard anything new about it in awhile, have we?

Tara Strong is coming to the convention I raged about in the middle of august…I wonder if I can get anything about it out of her.

That happens with most shows I'm noticing. 70's Show, Family Guy, American Dad, Beast Wars, Jackie Chan, Prime to a certain extent. It's like they hit the end of Season 2 and after that it's just going through the motions.

Shame there are no decent torrents of the show out, other than when they changed all the voices.

Funny story.

I remember watching Jackie Chan Adventures one time, and my mom walks in, this conversation took place when she saw me watching it:

Mom: Is that suppose to be Jackie Chan?
Me: Yeah it is…how do you know?
Mom: Because he has a big nose!

I'd also like to point out that in that episode, his voice dropped by 3 octaves so it wasn't grating to listen to him.
Everything else he could go off and die. God, I hate his voice...

Anyway, Xhaolin Showdown is cool, Jackie Chan Adventures was cool.

I liked him :lol And Quickstrike. I can't remember if he survived to Beast Machines.. Because for my sanity I mentally blocked alot of Beast Machines out of my memory.

I'll just tell you that no, Quickstrike doesn't survive until Beast Machines. He gets killed along with Inferno when Megatron fires the Nemesis's main cannon at them (Does it count as a spoiler considering Beast Wars ended over a decade ago?)

Also, I'd revisit Beast Machines if I were you. It's actually pretty good, and while it's nowhere near perfect, it's a rather interesting series.

Friendly reminder that Beast Machines is the actual sanctioned canon to the G1 Universe.

Jackie Chan adventures got me interested in Jackie as a kid, he became my idol along with Godzilla and Steve Irwin. I don't get the hate for Kappa Mikey it seemed like a show that made fun of both countries' styles of animation while having decently funny episodes. I think some of you are taking it way to seriously.

I.. really don't want to. I know it's Canon, for some reason, but I really didn't enjoy it. Not after how much I intensely enjoyed Beast Wars.

Eh. I just didn't find Kappa Mikey to be all that interesting. I wasn't diving for the remote to change the channel whenever it came on (Like I am concerning Family Guy), but it was just...Blah.

Just give it another chance. No one liked it the first time, but upon further review, many are finding it to be tolerable to fairly decent.
That's not to say everyone who rewatched it liked it, but I'm finding more mixed to positive reviews concerning BM than I was back in 2002.

I re-watched it earlier this year. It wasn't as fun as Beast Wars but it's watchable. I don't know what they were thinking with like 80% of the designs though.

Rattrap's wheelchair legs come to mind. The only idea I remember liking at all was Botainica.

I loved the Vehicons.

She was cool although I didn't understand the point of her altmode it was plant-robot to plant-robot. Nightscream was a cancer to watch. The only Maximals I enjoyed the look of were Botanica, Noble, and Silverbolt.

I always wanted either Tankor figure. But Noble? Really? That figure was an abomination.

Silverbolt is like the only Beast Machine I remember.

I won't touch Beast Machines figures, I meant the character design in the show.

Silverbolt was such a betrayal of his original character it hurt...

I also vaguely remember the hideous Megatron abomination, ratrap with his shitty wheels and if I remember correctly Primal got a surfboard with jets which was awesome.

Primal on the surfboard was actually Beast Wars, Season 2 :lol
