Goku asking about the SSjG was hardly a wish in BOG. He didn't wish for it, he just ask about it.

I finally watched Resurrection F the other day. Mostly just to say that I did, but also I was curious about the changes being made for Super.
And honestly, I like them all, with the exception of Ginyu's reappearance. This retelling has been pretty enjoyable. As for what's coming next in Super... So Champa found a Saiyan. Of course he did. As well as a member of Freiza's race who's too similar to Freiza right now for me to care much. Robot guy looks interesting Purple one I'm also intrigued by. Bear laughable. Then there's Beerus' final champion. What... the... hell? |
the only differeance in the freezer looking guy the hsould pads of saiyan armour and hip gurd skirt things are all part of his body and not amour

Wait, Jan 24th? You mean they aren't going to drag the Freeza/Goku fight out to 20 episodes?

Yep. I do really like the designs for the new fighter. The blue Freeza and the purple guy do really cool. I do hope the 5th Universe 7 fighter surprises me since he may look silly and stupid, but he may have something cool to offer.

Bluma offers to bring his girlfriend too, but he jaco got dumped. Zuno-dono requests gifts in exchange for questions. Jaco goes to kiss him and he blushes, and give him only one question because he's a guy. Jaco asks about Bluma's bust size: Apparently it used to be 87.2cm but after breastfeeding, it sagged a bit and now it's 83.4. Bluma only gets 3 questions for her "gift" because she's middle aged and not Zuno's type. Bluma's first question is accidentally used up when she asks if she only gets two more questions despite being "this pretty". She then asks about the Super Dragon Balls: called "wish orbs", they were formed in AGE 41 by the Shenlong (dragon god), Zarama/Jarama. They have a diameter of 37,196.2204km, and are am perfect sphere. Within Universe 6 and 7, combined, there's 7 in total of these light yellow orbs, and within each orb is a star marking varying from 1 to 7 stars. These markings are designed/made so that they always look like stars when viewed from any angle. This refraction technique is a structure original to Zarama/Jarama and was patented in AGE 42. Those who collect all seven and speak in the god's language, "Come forth, Shenlong!" and then, "Grant my wish" get one wish fulfilled no matter what it is. Once the wish is granted, The orbs are immediately scattered throughout the two universes. Bulma asks a rhetorical "huh? 7 balls between the two universes?" and Zuno-dono says "Yes", having her waste her third question even though she wanted to ask if they needed to use the exact wording for summoning". Zuno tells them to come back after a year. Bluma and Jaco return to Earth, angry at each other for wasting their questions. Goku and Vegeta discuss the tournament while training in the RoSaT for 3 days/3 years (no mention is made of how/why Vegeta can be in there after spending 2 days back in the Cell Arc as far as I'm aware). Goku wonders if their opponents will really be strong, and vegeta says they have to be since Champa saw their abilities and is still confident. Goku thinks Vegeta is smart for figuring that out, and Vegeta says of course he is compared to Goku/Dumbass. Vegeta questions Goku's acting like a child and asks him to think about his age. Goku says that vegeta said Saiyans remain in their prime until they reach age 80. Vegeta says he was talking about his mentality... Frustrated, Vegeta gives up on smalltalk and Goku says he's excited to be able to cut loose like old times at the tournament. Beerus is upset Champa trespassed into his universe for some of the Super DBs. Pilaf Gang discusses the Super DBs, vastly underestimating their size. Gohan is indeed at a conference. Monaca is Beerus' 5th warrior. Vegeta doesn't think Monaca looks strong. Piccolo says it's their trend to underestimate guys like him... Whis says Monaca means, "great ponta." Monaca san is a hero from the planet, Wagashi (japanese for "sweets"). He's very calm/shy and kind but once he bares his fangs, he can give even Beerus sama some trouble. Goku wonder's what "Great Pointer" means, and it's explained that it means his large nipples... The Galactic king is disappointed he doesn't stand out against the other characters. Jaco apologizes for them not being impressed with a "Galactic King", as they know the North Kaio, so... Kuririn suggest playing shiritori: Whis goes with "jirujiru". Goku asks what that is and Whis says its a bird on his planet. The group took 35 minutes to get from Earth to Beerus' planet, then 2 hours and 10 minutes more to the designated fighting place on a "nameless star." Goku is surprised that Kaioshin is separate again, but then ignores them for the Universe 6 Kaioshin. The introduction is cut short so that they can conduct the written test. I love the looks of Monaca and Champa's team as well. I can't wait to learn more about all of them. This should be a very fun saga.

I bet the blue Freeza guy is probably a good guy and not evil. It would be interesting to see someone else from Freeza's race that is not evil.

Finally getting around to starting Dragon Ball Super.
I like that it shows more of what a day in the life is like for these characters rather than fighting bad guys all the time. I think it's charming, and otherwise adds more character to ones that have had very little to begin with. I only saw the first episode so we'll see how it keeps up... Do I have to watch Battle of Gods and Revival F or am I safe just watching them be done in Super? Seems like new stuff was added to them in Super, so that's why I thought I'd ask...it's mainly the reason why I avoided watching the movies till now. |

Super retellings did do changes from the movies. Super's version of Battle of Gods is not much different other then there is more fighting then there was in the movie. It was also takes place on a boat in Super while it does not in Battle of Gods. Super's version of Revival of F does add stuff that was not in the movie.
Super explains on why Fat Buu did not join the fight against Freeza since he was asleep. It also explains why Gohan is much weaker now There is no love references with Mai and Trunks We see Vegeta on how he first train with Whis for the first while we never did in the movie Goten and Trunks show up while they are not in the movie Piccolo dies while he does not get killed off in the movie Captain Ginyu returns while he is nowhere to be seen in the movie Tagoma dies in ROF while he is still alive in Super Super moves on to new original content with Episode 28 ""Universe 6's God of Destruction: His Name is Champa" later this month. I think the Universe 6 stuff may have references to the BOG and ROF sagas. I still think the last two movies are worth checking out. |
My Favorite Characters are:
Vegeta- He is just a Badman. I note that he has come along way since his original introduction. He is stil ruthless in battle but has become more companionate in person. Piccolo- At the start of Dragon Ball Z he was my favorite because he was also ruthless and still is very strategic all around. I hope in Super, he grows more in power and can partake in more battles like Z. Frieza- Unrepentant, Powerful, Vengeful: All of what makes up a good Villian. |
Am I the only one that thinks Dragon Ball in Japanese is just...so weird sounding?
Not to say it's bad but...all the characters sounds off to me. I dunno. Like Goku for example, never did like how high pitched his voice is... |
If you are not use to the characters in Japanese then it takes sometime to get used too. That's how I was with Digimon Adventure Tri since I grew up with the English voice cast. I grew up with DBZ in both English and Japanese since I was able to get my hands on bootleg tapes in the early 2000's. I saw the first Broli (Broly) movie in Japanese subbed a few years before it dubbed in the US as a kid back in 2001.

Pilaf wish themselves younger with the Dragon Balls off screen. It was likely sometime after Buu and before Super.

Joji Yanami is a old guy since he has been voice acting since the 60's. The guy has been sick a lot of lately, so I'm surprise that he is still with us today. Naoki Tatsuta has taken over the voice of King Kai in Super now.
