Kiva has all the dressing of an awesome series. So i am probably gonna keep watching to figure it out.

Ryuki is a DEEPLY flawed series, with the core aspect of the show a broken concept.... yet I hold it in high regard because of Ryuki's character.

I hope you like Kiva. It definitely has flaws, many things could have been done better, but I love it, and not just for the designs (which are all awesome - still deeply desire Saga and Fangire Figuarts). I liked all the characters (except Mio, and I don't like her in Faiz either), and for the most part, I thought the story was good.
Whenever I see somebody talking about Kiva I want to rewatch it, I thought it was really great stuff.

I agree on most of this.
Kiva is not one of the best series out there, but one of the better shows written by Inoue.
As for the characters, they sometimes feel well-written, but some, especially Nago have really weird moments. As for Mio... I hate her. I dislike Koyomi (which already means she really annoys me) but Mio is a little bitch.
The story had some great concepts and had its moments, though on some points it just became a bit confusing and unlogical.
But holy shit, those designs and the MUSIC <3

The last time they were in Helheim Micchy took a fruit and it transformed into the Kiwi Lock Seed. It happens so fast I am not surprised you missed it.

I did miss it, I never saw him snag it because I was all "Mango!"

So far my other opinons on Kiva, just about done episode three, is that Otoya is fucking horrible. God that's an irritating person, and this is Kiva's dad?

Also, Kivat is kind of dumb. As a transformation device, he's totally out of place on Kiva's design, and he doesn't do anything except be a little robot bat that flies around. He's not a character, he's a gimmick. And the chick at the coffee shop is annoying. I hate people that force their way into other people's lives, acting like she knows him and can talk down to him. What if Wataru was developmentally challenged, or suffered trauma as a child, and she's busting his ass and doesn't even know him?

But aside from all that, I like everyone else.

Kiwi Arms showed up in the movie.

I thought that at first, too. But he quickly becomes the best character. Give it like, 10 episodes and you'll be on his side.

At that point I'm more inclined to think you just come down with Stockholm Syndrome rather than see any actual improvement.

Maybe 10 episodes isn't the right number, but the guy really grows on you, most people agree he's one of the best things about Kiva.

Given how he acts when he takes up the role of King, I can actually see that. That death glare that made Fangire wet their pants does line up with the aggressiveness that is Kiva.

Well I find him utterly obnoxious, but apparently he's still around. At least he's not presumed dead, since people are looking for him in the present. Time can change people.

Also, stock fraud? What a boring problem. Though when that lady showed up with "victims" lists I expected serial harrassment.

She's an exceptionally poor actress and stuntgal, and all she does is get her shit kicked and limps around grunting so pathetically. Her little gun is a joke, too. Who seriously thinks that'd work?

Channeling Locke for a sec: the action with Kiva is SUPER awesome. He's so brutal and quick and precise, and the moves he pulls are half wrestler, half wolverine. The bit where he gives the Fangire a facefull of Kivat and almost beats it senseless was really well done, as was the bike bit last ep where he tied the tentacle of teh Fangire to his bike and drove around that car, whiping the Fangire into the side of it.

Megumi and Yuri are pretty much useless. Girls in an Inoue show syndrome.

Yuri (past bimbo) becomes awesome, but Megumi legitimately sucks. I think there's one three episode arc where she does anything close to cool or interesting.

Otoya is rather obnoxious early on, but his character grows and develops really well.

These people fighting the Fangires are idiots. They want to kill Kiva, even though he kills Fangires and nobody else. Any half-brained lump can see he's not as big a concern as Fangires. At least wait and let him pick a few more off.

Oh dear God that cafe woman is dreadful. Who seriosuly watched her "perform" and thought "yeah, this character needs to exist."

Also, damn that was the weakest civilian death ever. Dude's walking, get's snatched, and we're back to Wataru in less than a second.

Okay, now I'm SUPER interested in Kiva's backstory. Kivat blew on a whistle, which summoned random dragon castle (lulwtf) and there was a guy who became a wolf sword and kind of changed Kiva's colour, then Kiva held the sword in his mouth in one of the coolest finishers since, uh, his other finisher?

WHY ARE WE FOCUSING ON OTOYA'S BULLSHIT AND NOT THIS!?

I'm pretty sure Aozora is just those three guys. Notice how when they all get arrested at one point, there is nobody else in jail but Megumi, Nago, and the chief.

Get used to Kiva not explaining stuff. It excels at that.

And 9 times out of 10, the crazy nonsense is never explained. I don't know why I love that, but I do. It makes the world seem insane. Like, you feel like there is an explanation for everything, it's just that no one bothered or cared to put it in the show. And Wataru and Kivat might not even know the explanations.

So I went back 500 pages and looked at my history when I watched the beginning episodes of like 7 shows and my opinions on shows have stayed true for all the series. I am just amazed at it too. Also I need to finish Black it was the first series I watched back last May lol.

Made it up to Blade 43 last night, and hoping to marathon the last 5 eps and Missing Ace tonight.

Nice to see Mutsuki free of the Category Ace at long last, though I'm quite impressed with how long that part of the story went on for.

As I haven't seen Faiz, it just felt like an asspull. Like they were scared to go all in.77That is a thing? I feel honoured, haha.

I decided I couldn't wait and picked up TVNs encodes of Blade. Honestly the quality isn't that bad really, it's just a shame that all the aspect ratios are fucked up for some reason. You can override it easily, but it seems pretty shitty to release a load of episodes wrong and have seemingly just left it like that for years.

Weirder still though is how bad a lot of the translation is. Considering the amount of effort TVN puts in making flashy fonts, I can't believe they didn't at least proofread this. Most of the time the bad grammar is easily comprehended but there are times where they are just using the words entirely and it makes no sense.

So anyway, Blade Seven.

This episode is really weird, and almost - I assume - completely unintentionally. The Undead looks exactly like Kamen Rider Sting, right down to his weapons. And there is one shot of this guy placing a bomb, who looks exactly like Maki from OOO only younger.

This episode took a while to get going, Tachibana's scuffle with Japanese Wesker is over as soon as it begins and despite the dramatic end to the last episode not a whole lot really happens to Kenzaki until he has to face the Kamen Rider Sting Undead.

And even when the Battle Fight (whatever that is) begins, it still doesn't really click. The actual action is fine, seeing our three Rider's and our Undead who looks like a Rider all battling at the same time is great but the episode refused to stay focused on it. I understand that other important things were going on, but the Battle Fight was the key ingredient of the episode and yet it was never allowed to play out as it had constant cutaways to that novelist being annoying or Amane giving out tea. Just let me watch the bastard Battle Fight!

I did love the focus this episode puts on the actual Drivers, though. Japanese Wesker's plan to make the ultimate Rider System is a great way of making the goofy costumes seem really special, a lot more than most tokusatsu.

Agito 16-Interesting to learn that someone knows Shouichi before his amnesia which makes sense, not sure to trust Aki yet or not but apparently she knows Hikawa, and Ryou's father, she was definitely on that boat. Interesting to see Ryou punching Hikawa I'm sure that'll have repercussions later down the line. I don't trust Hojo's Agito capture plan but I definitely see where Zect came from though lol. Gills is so badass, I love his look, his transformation and his fighting style he is so awesome. Agito is too, I love how he fights as well and has awesome forms too. Agito has been a fun series still can't wait for more.

Agito 17-I still don't trust Aki she seems to be hiding something there. I feel really bad for Ryou with whatever's happening to his body, but man was he badass taking all the gas bullets from the police and getting back up from it. Gills vs G3 was interesting nice to see G3 get the advantage. I love both Ryou and Hikawa so that was a difficult fight, and I wanted Ryou to crush Hojo's neck too. I love Shouichi so much in this especially when he said he loves everyone that felt like something I could really relate too. The boat accident definitely has more mystery to it, I really want to know what happens. I'm glad Hikawa is realizing that Hojo is a jackass like Ozawa said too. Intrigued to see what happens next.

Why do I need sleep?

I guess they're sorta useless, but I like them. Maybe Megumi shouldn't have gone sticking her nose in Wataru's business, but she does help him come out of his shell a bit.

I don't remember her ever having the upper hand on a Fangire, she clearly is outmatched in every way, and she does get the crap kicked out of her every fight. And she never, ever gives up. I don't remember her ever hesitating to jump into a fight, even though she has to know she can't win. She fights as hard as she can against an overwhelming foe, and though she doesn't triumph, I respect that.

Castle Doran is never explained in the slightest, and it is so random and goofy, and I absolutely love it.

Garulu Form is my favorite Kiva form. Just wait until you get to know more about Garulu. :cool: I WISH there were Figuarts of the Arms Monsters more than almost anything else in the world. And Saga. :(

I agree, exactly. Like when that one thing happens and Kiva does that one thing, and you're like, Holy Shit, did Kiva just do that? WTF/Awesome?!

Megumi is downright horrible in every regard. It's embarrassing watching her.

I'm definitely reconsidering this show now that I hear this random goofy shit isn't explained. That's not a good thing. Maybe in a series like Den-O that is goofy by nature it could get away with it, but Kiva is definitely not the show for random unexplained goofiness, and now I'm wondering if I shouldn't just drop it.

I gave up on Kiva. I admittedly watched enough episodes to count on one hand, but it was when I was told that it was never really going to go anywhere I decided it wasn't worth my time, then.
