Funny how this episode of Kiva where the gumball Fangire died PERFECTLY illustrates how the body-a-day mentality of older rider shows doesn't hold up, and why Gaim's is handled so well. that was a good storyline, but the way gumball died was really impersonal and minor, like nobody really got broken up. Wataru seemed concerned rather than distraught. He seemed more like he just wanted more lessons.

Meanwhile Gaim has Kouta pouring his heart over someone he doesn't even like, but has such respect for life and concern for others, something Kiva doesn't really have.

Also, "fist on" is fucking moronic. Who thought that was a good catchphrase?

The problem with the IXA Belt is that he speaks english the way the japanese write it...and yeah it doesnt sound very good.

Agito 25: A Great mid point of the series. I absolutely love Shouichi with Hikawa and Hojo it was funny how he talks to both of them and the hilarity with his magic tricks, and Hojo's reaction to learning who Shouichi is. Hikawa got to be G3-X again because of Hojo's magic trick fiasco and thanks to Shouichi. Great to see him actually able to control it and take down the Unknown. I'm glad Ozawa got the advice to help Hikawa be able to use the G3-X system however I don't know if she put that chip in or not. Gills vs Agito Round 2 was very cool, Gills definitely has it out for him but I know this is not the end of this Rivalry yet. Also cool to see Shouichi use the G3-X so easily and great to see 2 Unknown's destroyed in 1 episode as well. Glad that Ryou kicked Shouichi's memories into place, I really like how one technically helped the other to help the other in a weird triangle this episode. Shouichi helped Hikawa become G3-X again who then lead Ryou to Agito who then attack Agito and knocks Shouichi's memories into place. Very productive episode and I see a lot of what I liked in Faiz and Blade in this series too.

Hibiki 21-23

Nice set of episodes. We get the three main riders working together to destroy the Makamou's new monster combination. We've got more character development for Asumu on helping out Hibiki by taking care of that elderly woman he knows and him into achieving the position he wanted in his school band. The summer Makamou are....creepily cheerful about devouring people.

Interesting to see how Hibiki trains. Understandably it looks like he works pretty hard at it, given how confident he is in the effectiveness of training. Todoroki...not so confident. Even if he isn't skilled in drums, he should still give it a shot! And uh...do I see the hint of a new form for Hibiki? Can't wait for that!

Oren's an asshole. So is Takatora. All the adults are assholes :lol Is what I learned from this show so far. I feel so horrible for hase though, so bad. His best friend leaves him, he loses the belt, his team abandons him.. You just wanna give him a hug.

Don't feel bad for Hase. Things could still totally turn around for him. :thumb:

Agito 26-Great episode, some intriguing developments with Shouichi that I don't want to spoil. Glad Hikawa is chosen as the G3-X user too. Trinity Form looks so badass in the show. I loved the user of the red, blue and green colors in the filming too. Also Ryou as Gills kicked ass, intrigued to why did he become Gills and who are the other survivors too.

So yeah, I'm way late to the party, but I gave Gaim episode 1 another go. I was originally turned off by the street dancing theme, expecting a bunch of shoehorned, long, and very skippable musical interludes, but it's really not bad. I'm glad the ditched the 2-episode story arcs - gives it an exciting, fast-paced feel.

I am glad they skipped the 2-episode arc structure too, I have found myself enjoying the Early Heisei era stuff more because of it.

I watched episodes 23-25 i believe of Ryuki and wow these episodes were amazing. Seeing Ouja deceive Rieko was great seeing him combine beasts, as well as seeing Knight Survive. I feel like Zoldas fate was foreshadowed this episode which was good. Overall gonna continue watching these episodes and hopefully finish Ryuki relatively soon.

Man, not gonna spoil anything, but remember when we all thought that?

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight 9-11

It still feels like a generic rider show except using the Ryuki suits, I hope it gets better later on because a 1/4th of a way through the series and I'm still not invested. Also, the reveal of Strike was way too obvious when Jake came in to give Maya info.

Ryuki's first quarter wasn't the greatest but it didn't leave me unengaged like these first 10 episodes did.

I want to say that the guys who did Kamen Rider Dragon Knight made most of the fights disengaging and, to top it off, didn't spend nearly as much time getting us invested in the characters as they should have.

Just downloaded the first few episodes of Kiva. Gonna check it out.
What can I expect? Worth watching?

I enjoyed the first few episodes, stopped watching it a bit after that just because I got caught up in other shows and was a bit put off by some of the negativity I'd heard. That said I really do want to watch the season as a whole at some point.

You can expect some decent character development, and the occasional thing happening and never being explained or ever happening again. it's a show that's more concerned about where it's going rather than where it came from. If that makes any sense. I'd say it's worth watching. I really enjoyed it, despite its flaws.

I really love Dragon Knight, a lot of people here give it shit, because it's an adaptation or something but I think that they need to kind of accept that. Yeah Dragon Knight is a pretty generic story of good vs evil, but compared to a lot of Power Rangers seasons, it's allowed to approach it in a maturer way, that carries a lot more weight with the punches.

And comparing it to Ryuki is largely a null point, as a) it only uses the same fight footage and b) even if it was a straight adaptation (it isn't), you just can't do the kind of things Japan can do in American programming.

Plus by all regards it makes better use of a lot of the characters, especially the movie Riders.

I'm not saying you can't hate it - but most of the reasons I've seen for people disliking this season have been frankly, crap.

I fucking love Kiva, it's one of my favorite series. It's a very fun series with dark elements to it. It's very enjoyable.

To be fair though, has there ever been something you don't like? :lol

Watched the Kabuto movie. Judging this objectively... it sucked. But thanks to watching it together with Convoy, it was still enjoyable, because we were laughing like crazy at all the movie's flaws.

Like the series, it's not really good, but it's still entertaining :D

Dragon Knight 12-14
Show is still sorta boring but I am enjoying Maya's antics a bit more.

I'm sorry if I find this series unappealing but I just do. I want to like it but it just doesn't click. I think it might have to do with that the show doesn't make me care enough to root for anybody. Granted, that might be more like a real war, but it's a standard good vs evil plot underneath. Even with those basic plots in every other TV series, they at least made me care enough to have an emotional response when I see a character, whether good or bad, do something.

Although I do give this show props for using every episode to advance the plot an there being no filler episodes or scenes.

The Blade movie, that's about it from Kamen Rider lol.

Agito 27-Interesting episode, and weird not having the Police in it, that's one of my favorite parts. Ryou pretty much was almost killed, by these weird survivors. We learned more about Shouichi's past and about his sister and his sister's Boyfriend who is the guy from earlier in the series. Intrigued where this will go, and I still love Trinity form a lot.

Agito 28 and 29-Well since my files were messed up I ended up watching 29 before 28 but that didn't spoil anything. I absolutely loved Episode 28, it being a Ryou episode and showed a lot of human and heroic elements to him protecting the little kid and helping him run away from his life. I love how he said that you just have to live. Great to see Gills kick ass too. Little bit of Shouichi in it too but it was a flashback episode but it was awesome.

Episode 29 was fantastic, great to have the police back with Hikawa, and it was really fun all his time with him and Shouichi together, I think they have great chemistry and play off each other well. I loved all the Tennis scenes they were funny. Great to see Hikawa rely on Mana and her powers I like that element of the series. I am intrigued to see why Shouichi lost his memories but I'm sure he'll be fine. Loved seeing Agito and G3-X fight together and do a combo finisher that was awesome, weird that Hikawa was having problems too, I feel that might be from the suppressor chip. Shouchi's Sister's boyfriend found Ryou in the water that should be interesting to see where that goes.

Thinking about watching Decade again.

Another good episode, with Shadow reuniting only to reveal the 2 twists at the end about TheBee and Hiyori.

What the fuck..... Horse Orphnoch.... this is our path to hell character. This series is going to be special ain't it?

Mari is actually a pretty cool character she's realistically cute and has an annoying personality that isn't grating and is a counter to Takumi. In fact, I think Yuji and Takumi are better looking then Mari. Mostly due to the hair and eyes though.

Faiz is a very special show, it does so many things incredibly well. I love it so much, especially because of the characters.

Agito 30 and 31: Were both good episodes and glad we are getting back to Mana's dad's murder case with Hojo on it. His theory is very interesting but I don't think Mana did it. Poor Ryou he reminds of Kuuga right now. I love the chemistry between Shouichi and Hikawa and Hojo that was fun. Mana I feel bad for and can kind of relate with some of her problems fitting in and trying to find a place to belong. Intrigued with the guy in Black and Shouichi's sister's boyfriend and their discussions. Great to see the hover board mode of Agito's bike again I thought it was one and done. Also liked he used Storm form too not just Trinity form. I love seeing Agito and G3-X fight together it's so awesome.

Personally, I loved Kamen Rider 555 through and through. The ending could use a bit of improvement, but I didn't mind as much as other people did.

Okay, if he is around that age, then that is cool. I was thinking he was more around my age.
