You seriously need to separate your story from Super Sentai.
You're trying to treat it as if it's an episode to a show, and that's holding things back.

Just saw Equestria Girls... It actually wasn't that bad, not great but not awful. Its still the same lovable characters just in a different setting and look. As for my favorite part, well Alicorn Twilight is proving to be better then the fans make her out to be and Sunset Shimmer is actually a pretty good villain. Her motivation makes sense and given her surroundings, she's pretty damn evil. Also watching Twilight adjust from being a pony to human is pretty hilarious to watch.

But who am I to judge, go see it for yourself and make your own opinion on it. Although I'm pretty sure there are some people that wish that this was how the whole thing ended.
