For those of you in the UK, the Last Day minisode has been released on iTunes. Its content is 100% different than I was lead to believe.

Yeah I saw that a few minutes ago, guess I'll watch it after work then if the price is fixed!

Why iTunes? That is the king of geoblocking! As usual Australians can't pay for it even if they wanted to!

All the best things come from Wales :D
Blue plaque remembers Dalek creator Terry Nation EDIT: There's also this amazing piece of news Quote:

Some tidbits. Trying to not spoil anything for those folks wanting to go in totally spoiler-free.
First, there's a new clip up: http://www.doctorwhosavetheday.com/#.../2855517454001 I know it's a brief clip, but Joanna Page sounds kind of off to me. Like one of us Americans doing a bad accent. -- This Tom Baker article popped up on the 19th and I'd have thought there'd been some comment by the BBC on it by now. Hrm. HuffPo Doctor Who Article |
Oh, dear. An Adventure in Space and Time was far sadder than I expected. It was an eminently enjoyable drama and very moving. It won't spoil anything to say that Jemma Powell is an almost frighteningly perfect doppelgänger for Jacqueline Hill at times and David Bradley should be considered a damned national treasure.
|
I'm lost for words at how good it was. So many emotions in an hour and a half, Gatiss, David Bradley and everyone else who worked on it should be really proud of themselves.
|
My I was sadden at this but at the time was interesting how to put it how went behind. Also David cloudless easly be a better replace of 1st meet the current doctor if Moffat wants to he better then the one who did it back in the 5 doctors special.
|
I took a quiz on the BBC America website to see which Doctor I was and my result was the 3rd Doctor.

I got third too, can't argue with getting my fave :D I won't be online until Sunday now as I'm off to the 50th event in London, so enjoy Day of the Doctor guys. Save some debate for when I get back :p |
Watched Pyramid of Mars last night and came away with one thought. Sutkh is Apollo Geists long lost brother.
Seriously. Look them both up on Google or whatever. |

(For the record, I got the Seventh Doctor in that quiz.) |

Finally finally FINALLY getting caught up for the 50th anniversary. Been a couple years since I've been able to sit down and properly watch Who. Rewatched all the 9/10 run and am powering back through the first season of the 11 run which is as far as I had previously gotten before adult crap took free time away from me. And Matt Smith kind of turend me off for a bit. Though I enjoy him more on a second go through.
|
Just a reminder that 'A Culture Show' on BBC Two at 21:30 tonight is about Doctor Who.
Edit: I think Matt is a brilliant Doctor, one of my favorites, but I think the writing fails him sometimes. Between the script and the direction, they seem to push Matt zanier and zanier as his run progresses and it wears a bit thin. |
The missing episodes issue seems to be heating up again. Apparently Marco Polo is coming. (Though not the way the Mirror describes it.)
I want Marco Polo sooooooooo bad. It's pretty much #1 on my list at the moment, though I'm looking forward to seeing (reportedly) Web of Fear ep. 3 when the DVD is released. |
This is interesting features in docudrama for an adventure in time and space

Just finished watching Three's second adventure, 'The Silurians'. Once again probably the biggest problem is it is sloooooow. I guess to save money, pretty much the first four whole episodes are just scene after scene of people chatting in front of static cameras, and although it does a lot of world building and establishes a fun mystery, most of it loses all purpose with being as drawn out as it is.
Plus even when the show does finally get on track with itself, it then throws in a whole sub arc about an alien plague and the focus moves completely off track again. The plague becomes such a big deal, I don't even know why it wasn't just its own story, rather than awkwardly crammed into the same space as the Silurian's. Although Three was my hero as a kid, I'm still not entirely sold on him as an adult. He doesn't get quite as upstaged by Liz this time around, but when you compare him to how badass the New Whos are (8 upwards) looking good in velvet and being good at science is a little naff really. Perhaps the one with the most lasting impression after this serial is probably the Brigadier. His dealings with the Silurian's at the end is brutal, and a really dark way to end the serial. The serial was pretty dark in general, but I didn't expect it to go out on such a low note. The classic Silurian design is in my opinion, hell of a lot better than the modern one (although the suits are very cheap looking, and the suit actors even cheaper) and their pet dinosaur thing and the scenes involving it are just so craptastic they are hilariously enjoyable. Several thousand years? I guess the older Doctor's are...younger :s |

I can't believe this matchup actually exists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY0J8h7LqyU |
Day of the Doctor Live Stream Links!!!
For those of us neither in the UK, or who don't have cable, or are trapped at work such as myself :p |
That was absolutely fantastic. Smith was great, Tennant was hilarious, Hurt was incredibly compelling. And Peter Capaldi! Tom Baker! Holy flipping crap! Loved it, loved it, loved it!
|
I am currently typing this without a head, as it sort of exploded a bit ago.

Tom Baker was of course the big/happy/amazing extra surprise :D |
That was unexpected and masterful.. And I have so many thoughts I don't know where to begin! We finally learn about 10 and Elizabeth, Zygons.. Where she gets the scarf!
I enjoyed every moment in this, every damned moment. I love how they brought in Rose without having to break 'Another Universe' again. I wish Martha and Donna were in it, but this was so perfect I almost don't care. But none of that compares to the scene where all 13! TARDIS' are helping Galifrey, and at the end.. Tom Baker! I broke down. Like a girl. I admit it. I still have tears in my eyes.. This is how the 50th Anniversary should've been done. None of you will be disappointed. |

That was possibly the greatest experience I could have ever asked for. I'm physically not able to properly convey my thoughts on the episode right now.
|
Very awesome stuff!
I kinda wondered where it was going at times, and wether it was actually necessary... but it pulled it off in the end. Very clever, very fun. Looking forward to Xmas special and the future of the show now =) |
And now we also finally know why Elizabeth has hated the doctor (specifically 10) well, ever since the first time we saw her :lol

They took what you thought you wanted in an Anniversary special, and then said "No. We can do better" And then they gave you better then the better they promised. |
It wasn't without flaws, but it was pretty darned (head blowing up) amazing. I look forward to seeing it on the big screen Monday.
|
I don't think I've seen a theatre of hundreds, possibly thousands, erupt in cheers as loudly as they did at 12 Doctors, Peter Capaldi and finally TOM BAKER. Truly a memory that's going to be with me for the rest of my life.
|
I have never been so overjoyed and simultaneously excited to watch something. It was brilliant fun, excellent adventure, and emotionally satisfying for me. Choosing to share the moment of destroying Galifrey was itself momentous. But choosing to instead SAVE IT together was even more incredible. If that hadn't already done it for me then of course seeing 13 beautiful blue boxes flying around together certianly did.
|
I just finished it. I had a big stupid grin on my face almost the whole time. And it just got bigger every time I realized what was going on.
|
Did anyone also happen to catch Adventures in Time and Space? The Ducodrama about how the show originally started? I have it on my DVR but haven't watched yet.
And when 13 arrived, and just rose his eyebrow, did anyone else cheer :lol |
