This week will be the last episode of the ROF arc, so Freeza will be die this week. Next week is when original content starts. I find Super's take on ROF to be pretty bad. They made all of the fight scenes so boring to watch. BOG saga took too long to finish, but it did had some amazing fight scenes with Goku and Beerus in space.

I'll say it again but the movies are far superior to these elongated arcs.
|
If Funimation get round to this I'll skip first 27 episode if they realse them in parts just so I can have rest of super to sit Nicky with the film even if Ressurection f is my least favourite

I personally find the ROF arc in Super to be my top 5 least favorite sagas in the series. BOG arc was alright, at least it didn't put me to asleep like the ROF arc did. |
I can't wait for this next arc, though I have loved the changes they have made in the Freeza Saga. Also hate on the Elongated Arcs all you want, this show made me love the character I hated the most ever (Vegeta), so this show is the best thing ever lol.

Watched Super 25 and 26 today (I had to settle for Kami's fansubs) and good god Toei clearly gave their animators the week off when episode 26 was being animated. Pretty much every other shot looked dreadful. There were a few times when Freeza didn't even have his actual feet and he looked really old. It doesn't help that they are still dragging this out way too much. They really need to hyphenate the name to Drag-On Ball Super.
The only reason I would buy Super on BD is because of the Kool-Aid Man Goku scene. |

If they started Super in January, they could start right after ROF ended. As I said before, do a 5 minute recap on BOG and ROF, you would be good to go.
|
Heck I agree recipe of film be better then we could of a still filler episode one but was more bridge from film to the show
|
What they could have done was just do several episodes of adventuring that lead up to the events of Battle of Gods, but then skipped it and did a little recap at the beginning of the next episode, do daily lives stuff leading up to Resurrection F, then another quick recap at the beginning of the episode that starts the tournament. This show is not based on a manga, so there was no reason to retell the movies that were already told better.

The ROF arc in Super has finished tonight. Super's equivalent to the Garlic Jr saga in my opinion is finally over. This saga had some good moments like Goku and Vegeta being on Whis planet, but that's about it. The movie is much better because the action is well done while in Super, it was boring to sit through. Next week, we finally get new original stuff for once.

The new Super manga chapter has been released and there is no English scans of it yet. Herms from Kannzenshuu on Twitter has translated some major spoilers
The written test has 10 questions, 50% needed to pass. "Buu fails everything and didn't even write his name right Piccolo's mad at Buu because he spells his name wrong on the test. Buu yells that he's never done anything like this before. Goku barely passed with a 50% The Blue Freeza is named "Frost" Piccolo says Frost's presence doesn't feel violent. Frost is hinted that he can transform The new Saiyan is a good guy and his name is Cabba Universe 6 Saiyans have lost their tails via the evolution process The Saiyans of U6 are based on a planet called "Salad". In U7, the Saiyans lived there too before it was destroyed by "internal discord". It seems that the U6 Saiyans battle suit/armor is vastly different from the ones Vegeta and the Saiyans of the 7th Universe have The purple guy on Universe 6 team is named "Hit". Character design notes for Hit say that his name suggests danger, supporting idea that he's directly named after English word "Hit". The giant robot is named "Magetta" and is an alien from a species called "Metalman" The yellow bear is named Botamo. Despite appearances, Botamo is actually hairless, with slick skin. Champa admits he underestimated Beerus' Saiyans, but suggests Botamo has his own surprise. Chapter ends there. https://twitter.com/Herms98/with_replies |
Oh hot damn yeah. That all sounds good. Really interested to see where Frost goes and what his backstory is like. I always enjoyed the idea that there could be non-evil members of Friezas' race. It's one of the best things about Xenoverse.

In other news, some images for the upcoming 3DS game "Project Fusion" have been posted on the web. It was announced for the Nintendo 3DS in the newest V-Jump issue this month!
http://www.db-z.com/wp-content/uploa...usion-scan.jpg http://www.db-z.com/wp-content/uploa...ect-Fusion.jpg I do want to see how this game works. I guess fans can create any fan fusion that they want now. |
I overall thought the Freeza Saga in Dragon Ball Super was a lot better than the movie. The movie was only better in having all the side characters fight and have more time to shine. The entire saga as a whole in DBS was a lot better. I love how they had all the characters. I think this was fantastic for Gohan and Piccolo. The addition of Ginyu was great and Vegeta finally got to kill off the entire Ginyu Force lol. This was a lot better than the Beerus Saga of DBS.
|
I thought Ginyu coming back was kind of cool until it proved to be completely and utterly insignificant.
All it really did was shut up the people who constantly remind others that he was still alive. |

Yeah Ginyu was absolutely pointless in Super and served no purpose whatsoever. That was like some really bad fanfiction there. If they were going to bring Ginyu back they should have actually done something with him. All he did was talk and die.
|
Ginyu's return was fun, but pointless. They brought him back and got killed off in the next episode. Fans seem to think that it created a major plot since Dende wish back everyone killed by Buu expect for the really evil ones. Vegeta told Dende not to bring back the really evil ones to avoid Babidi and Dabra being brought back to life by accident. If Ginyu's mind and soul was still pure evil after all of these years, won't he not be wish back? Pilaf was bad, but not very evil. He was mainly harmless.

Well it's good to hear that Dragon Ball Super has been pretty consistent so far. I'm still waiting for an English dub and I've yet to watch Fukatsu no F. Like I've noticed that I can't really watch Dragon Ball week to week or else I get burned out; I prefer watching it a 5~ish episodes at a time or more.
So do you guys think that there will be and English dub of the show and would it come on Netflix or DVD. |

Funimation wants to get the TV distribution rights set up at the same time they get the license for Super so they can air it on CN.
Oh, and yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, the bad animation stuff, about that... EDIT: So it sounds like Toriyama is not too pleased with the overall execution of Super. |
So would you guys see it on TV or on Netflix/Hulu etc? Personally I'd like to see it on Netflix, since I don't even use my own TV anymore, it'd be better I honestly think.
|
Knowing Toei, it will probably be on TV. With Dragon Ball, Toei likes to have a TV deal because that's what actually gets the money and merchandise rolling for them. With One Piece, it's a different show and the brand name is not as big as Dragon Ball in the US. Most causal Dragon Ball fans in the US like the series dubbed only and will wait for a dub. Not every fan in the states have seen the show yet.
