Just watched the first four episodes of Eureka Seven AO in English. All things considered it's a pretty solid dub. Not as good as the original but considering that the original is my favorite anime series of all time I didn't expect AO to top it.

I will say though that AO does have a much better first opening then the original IMO.

Back when I was a teen and really into anime Eureka Seven was one of the BIG animes but I could never really get into it but then I've never been that huge into mech anime, although I loved Giant Robo, Big O and TTGL since then, so I might give it another go.

Do it, watch it now! Buy it, stream it, pirate it doesn't fucking matter GO WATCH IT RIGHT FUCKING NOW!

The thing about AO was the condensed episode run could of worked to its favour so much. Pretty much the only flaw in the show was its length at times (although it had some brilliant "filler" episodes, such as the football game one). However AO ended up meandering even more :(

Will have to check out the dub at some point though. I couldn't get into the original's but it was certainly a good dub.

Is free the actual name of the anime

Started 2 of the 3 animes I'll be watching this season - Stella Jogakuin Koutouka C3-bu and Symphogear G.

Symphogear was pretty much the same as the last season but with more fanservicey transformations, but I was pleasantly surprised by C3-bu. I wouldn't have expected Gainax to pull off a moe girls series so well, even if it is about an airsofting club.

This anime season started.

Dogs and Scissors I only watched because it was the first show to air, and it was about what I expected, which was bad. Not even going to give it another episode. Free was also about what I expected, which wasn't bad, but also not good, and definitely not my cup of tea, although I may give it another episode or two simply because of KyoAni. C3-bu was certainly a pleasant surprise, since I only really watched it on a whim, and ended up enjoying it quite a bit. It also helps that the ED is amazing. I loved the first season of Symphogear(Rewatched it the day before G started) and G did not disappoint, it's nice to see that the animation has improved, although I'm not sure how I feel about the new transformations, they're much more typical magical girl transformations. Finally, Danganronpa, I've only played a little of the game, but the anime seemed to be atleast somewhat accurate, although it completely skips over the character introductions. I did enjoy it, so I'll keep with it.

So I checked out the opening episode of Eureka Seven again for the first time in probably almost ten years and I really enjoyed it. The animation is both pretty good, and pretty consistent by anime standards, in general the art direction was strong with some really beautiful visuals and designs.

If I was to have any criticisms, the episode was kind of slow, even meandering at times and I'm real tired of deliberately naive asshole protagonists, why not just make them likeable from the start?

Because then there's really no room for growth. If you make a character perfect from the start, then there won't be anywhere to take them. Granted, you could give them different flaws...so I kind of just shot my argument in the foot. If you want an anime where the main protagonist is nice from the start, check out Star Driver.

Speaking of which...Yo guncannon! What episode are you on?

Haven't been able to watch it in a while. It's not that I don't want to watch it, I just haven't had the time. Will get back to it when I can though, promise.

Yeah I like characters to grow as well, but you don't have to start at the bottom like Japan seems to regularly resort too.

Yeah, I guess that's true. It does give them more room for growth though.

Macross episode 19:

Well...this episode ended on a downer. Kakizaki died. I had a feeling he would, considering I've never heard anything about him, and I just always had a feeling that he would. Miria is also going onto the Macross, where she'll meet (and eventually marry) Max.

Okay so a "friend" of mine was interested in getting into anime and asked me for a couple of recommendations to start with... I told him to check out School Days and Boku no Pico.

That's an interesting one. The second part, Pico to Chico, is really dull, though. The one with Coco I never got to.

Macross episode 20.

It was kind of depressing. The Macross being forced to leave earth. Lynn's speech was kind of nice though, giving people hope, and whatnot. It was nice to see the start of the Zentradi finding peace though, and not only focusing on war. I wonder what Miria has been up to...

Me and my brother are watching the episode of Digimon Adventure after Metal Greymon appears. My brother asks me why does this episode have the budget of the Movie and i just told him. "Why do you choose to focus on that?"

That's what I usually focus on. I see something in a movi and think "How did they do that?" Instead of "That was awesome!"

That's the main thing I notice with that episode too. I wondered if it was to distinguish the real world from the Digital World, and then they realised they wouldn't be able to keep it up when they hit the Myotismon arc.

I wish the animation stayed like that in the real world.

Watamote is fabulous. I can't wait to see more of this show. Tomoko's a lot more likable than Hikigaya from My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu.

Just started SAO,have to say I see why its so hyped.

Yes, so did I. But then took a dive around episode four and I found myself laughing and enjoying it all the way down. Like the second half of Death Note. :lol

In the end I'm glad they went for the normal animation for the Myotismon arc. As much as I love fluid animation the art design of the Movie is sorta a turn off for me.

Yeah to be honest I'm not really a fan of the movie art either.

i'm Just About to Re watch all the Movies and I mean all the Movies Subbed i would Recommened Watching the 3 That make digimon the Movie subbed as a single Movie there so Much better then Trying To Create a one movie Story Around them

To their credit, the merging of the 3 films works pretty well for the most part. The biggest wtf moment is still present in the Japanese version regardless.

ok but the Hurricane Touch down Movie Is less confusing in Janese and the Story told in that Section of the digimon the movie is still Better told and under Stood More due to the Orginal Chosen children are a bigPart in that movie.

also if the WTF moment you thinking of is the Dubb error of Tai thinking his Argumon is the same one he met when he was a toddler fighting parrot mon then that complete removed as Taichi knows there are 2 diffrent Digimon. also give the seperate movie try due to the fact that wtf moment is might be due to stuff saban cut ot when splicing it togather

Hurricane Touchdown isn't confusing in English. Its a rare case of a story being completely written and making perfect sense in the context of the Diaboromon segment.

Tai doesn't think that in the English version either.
The wtf moment is how the hell Angemon and Angewomon can warp digivolve.

Digimon Adventure Movie 1 A digimon Adventure

ok fall All Shot digimon review of mine i Be talking bout the uncut orginal Japanese Verstion with the Story are ment to be veiwed. so it first Srtarts with Taichi narrating about the time he saw a Digimon with it opening up to the battle between Greymon and parrot mon to then him in the digial world looking up in sky. it Cuts to a Small Taichi waking up Due ti Hikari was in they're Dad's PC room where the Koromon Egg appears and the parts we see after that is in the edit but i will say that Tai gets scratched before koromon due to the Cat scene and the Dad Make an Appearance drunk and wanting to see the kids. At this stage Koromon is now Agumon during the main Big Battle non of the chosen Children knew of Each other even sor did not know who Tai was and just Said that boy. all in all A Digimon Adventure is a Really good Short Movie that a good thing to watch before going off to watch the anime due to all these movies are cannon and are set at certain points

Ehh, I guess. I never really took that as him thinking they were the same Greymon though, more him just relating to that experience.
Especially since the dub says they knew it wasn't the same one earlier in the film.

Continuity errors

• The movie is set during spring break, which in Japan is from late March to early April, however, the food labels (see "miscellaneous trivia") state the events happen on March 4. However, since the prices were hacked by Kuramon, the validity of the labels is questionable.
• The English dub also states it happens on summer, as Joe is in a summer school, despite calendars still showing March, which in Japan is spring.

Animation errors

• In the shot of the elementary school students in Bangkok, one of the kids has his hair miscolored as blue for a second.
• When Noriko draws the Joker, the card moves by itself in the deck close-up. After that, Noriko's ponytail is miscolored as red for a second.

Dubbing changes

• This movie is presented in the English dub as the second part of Digimon: The Movie.
• In the original, the movie happens during spring break and March 4 (see "continuity errors"), while in the dub it happens on summer.
• In the original, Diaboromon was made by several computer bugs converging with each other to create a Digi-Egg.
• Many moments in the original film are cut out in order to fit the movie into the English Digimon movie, which is actually made up of the first three Digimon movies (this being part two of the three). Deleted clips include:
• The nearby ferris-wheel spinning faster and faster, to the surprise of some bored kids on the ride.
• Kari being contacted for a second time at her friend's birthday party, whilst winning a card game (which is her second excuse for not leaving).
• Matt and T.K. exploring nearby houses for a computer, only to find that almost no one knows what a computer is. The one computer they do find themselves is owned by a couple who are far too busy arguing amongst themselves to really help them (even when T.K. pretends to cry).
• Matt and T.K. again, being asked to take something to their grandmother by one of the people at the barber shop, though they do not acknowledge her as they're fully focused on the online battling.
• Izzy rushes out onto the balcony as the nuclear missile lands, remarking about how they are too late, before noticing the missile did not explode. Tai then joins him, confirming they stopped it. The last part is retained, although the dialogue is changed.
• Willis is introduced in the English version in order to link it to the next Digimon movie, as the two movies are combined into the last two parts of one movie. Originally, the next Digimon movie was never related to this one. In the original movie, Izzy had a friend in Russia analyse the data that formed Kuramon's Digi-Egg and find out it's formed from multiple viruses, while in the English version, Willis e-mailed Izzy about the issue.
• In the original movie, when Tai is writing an e-mail to Sora, he misspells his name, though at this point in the English dub, he accidentally writes "Love Tai" instead of "From Tai".
• Agumon does not mention the Dark Masters in the original movie.
• Gennai does not remark that Keramon may not be a real Digimon, instead simply asking if Tai and Izzy knew about Keramon.
• Tai does not get cut off by Mimi's answering machine in the original movie.
• Diaboromon (and his respective digivolutions) does not speak in the original movie.
• Infermon originally hacks into the phone network to bring it down, whereas in the English dub, he hacks in to the network to locate Willis.
• Whilst the original version simply indicates Tai's disconnected phone by a beeping sound, the English dub features a female voice saying that the line is busy, which becomes more and more irritated each time Tai attempts to make a call.
• The motorcyclist and the man being served in the barbershop are portrayed as two different people in the English dub end credits (namely "Uncle Al" and "Andy", respectfully), though they are actually one and the same person in the original movie.
• Omnimon also doesn't speak in the original movie.
• The heart-shaped plate displayed outside Mimi's home originally displays her family name (followed by individual names), though the English dub makes it look like a valentine to Mimi from Joe.
• In the original movie, Diaboromon's e-mail reads "Which one has the clock?". Diaboromon then copies himself to hide the clock.
• The second missile that Diaboromon aims at Colorado only features in the English dub, for the sake of connecting this movie with the next movie.
• In the original movie, after the end credits, an e-mail from Sora appears where she apologizes to Tai for getting mad and thanks him for his present. This is followed by a photo of Sora wearing the hairclip from Tai.

Digimon references

• Our War Game! includes cameos of characters who later become DigiDestined, including Yolei Inoue and Ryo Akiyama. In Digimon Adventure 02, it is revealed that many other kids became DigiDestined after witnessing the events of this movie.
• The English dub of this movie introduces the idea of DNA digivolution, which would later become a main feature of the series Digimon Adventure 02. In the Japanese version, the fusion of WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon is not a DNA digivolution.
• At the beginning of the original movie, a Digi-Egg is shown in the sky above Tai's apartment building, similar to how Parrotmon was hatched in Digimon Adventure.
• In the English dub, when WarGreymon is unconscious, Tai says that he doesn't have a whistle to wake him, referring to when he awakened Greymon in Digimon Adventure.
• Real-world references
• In the English dub, when Kari is about to go off to her party, she tells Tai that she got her friend a Pink Power Ranger.

• The voice that shouts "finished" during Joe's exam is an imitation of the classic comedy actor Ed Wynn, known for such roles as the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland (1951 film), and Uncle Albert in Mary Poppins.

Miscellaneous trivia

• When computer all over Japan are going haywire due to Kuramon's actions, a woman looks at the food in a supermarket and their labels read "Expiration date: 00.3.4 Production date: 00.3.4", meaning the movie is set in March 4, 2000, the same date the movie was released in Japan. There are also multiple calendars marking "March" seen during the movie. However, since the prices were hacked, the label's validity is questionable.
• According to Digimon Adventure: Storyboard, Kuramon's Digi-Egg was seen by many children around the world at 11:05, Japan time zone, and hatched at 11:06.
• Where each of the kids are whilst the fighting takes place:
• Tai and Izzy take part in the fighting from the beginning.
• Matt and T.K. are at their grandmother's house, until they receive Tai's message. They then join the fight.
• Sora is sulking at home after Tai gave her a hair clip for her birthday. She almost joins the fight, but changes her mind just before knocking on Tai's door.
• Mimi is on vacation in Hawaii. Tai receives a postcard soon after leaving a message at her home.
• Joe is taking an exam, which he arrived late for after his train malfunctioned and left him behind (due to the computer virus).
• Kari is at a friend's birthday party. Tai contacts her twice by phone (in the original movie), though she keeps making excuses.
• Our War Game! is very similar to the later Summer Wars, also directed by Mamoru Hosoda.[citation needed]
• When the Digimon first come out of the door while Tai and Izzy are talking to Gennai. When they are finished talking and begin to walk away, Gatomon is shown walking into the wall.
• This is the only time WarGreymon battles without his Dramon Destroyers due to Diaboromon destroying them with his "Cable Crusher" attack.

While the DigiDestined are on summer vacation in the real world, Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi discovers a virus on the internet infecting a Digi-Egg. At the same time, Taichi "Tai" Kamiya is trying to apologize to Sora Takenouchi for getting her a hairclip for her birthday in an e-mail. Izzy arrives at Tai's house out of breath, telling Tai about the newly-hatched Digimon. Tai and Izzy use Tai's dad's computer and monitor the Digimon until Gennai appears in a transmission from the Digital World. He sends Agumon and Tentomon to help stop the corrupted Digimon. They put up a good fight until Keramon warp digivolves to Infermon and defeats them.
Tai tries furiously to contact and alert the rest using a phone, but when Infermon begins to dial as many numbers as can be pulled up over the PSTN, Tai's Internet connection is disconnected. Faced with this dilemma, Tai sees a television report on suggestions for the use of the voice mail system as an alternative means of communication over phone lines; using this method, he ends up getting only Yamato "Matt" Ishida and his brother Takeru "T.K." Takaishi, who are on vacation at their grandmother's house in Shimane. They find a computer in a local shop, and ask one of the employees for permission to use it; taking pity, he takes the two and his computer to a barber shop with an Internet connection and upload Gabumon and Patamon onto the net. Infermon digivolves to Diaboromon after Agumon and Gabumon warp digivolve to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon but then they slow down because of the massive amount of e-mails being sent to Tai and Izzy. Tai slaps the computer and freezes it leaving WarGreymon frozen and defeated.

Diaboromon then starts multiplying and sets up a timer for 10 minutes as he forces the Pentagon to launch a nuclear missile at Tai's neighborhood. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon wake up and race to defeat Diaboromon, only to find over a million copies of him. Every single copy fires and blasts them until they lie defeated. Tai and Matt mysteriously enter their computers and talk to their Digimon. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon DNA digivolve to Omnimon who easily defeats all but one Diaboromon. At one minute to go, Diaboromon is still too fast for them to hit, but then Izzy forwards him the e-mails, slowing him like it did to the other Digimon. At the very last second, Diaboromon is destroyed, disabling the missile.

ok So i Really enjoyed this Movie it felt right and is Told in the Way that it was Set just After the First Series so it was a Good Tie in to the Next Seris and i Loved how this is Done By the Same Person who done Summer wars and Makes me want to watch that Film due to i like the style.

i Say fot a 40 some thing Minute Film it is done Really well the Vocie Actor superb and the Hole Story Was Done well for a Stand Alone film it Slight makes More Sence then when it got spliced as a section of the Dubb that was the Digimon the movie. i say Watch

Continuity errors

• During the beach scene, Veemon is shown in his Rookie form, yet immediately after this, he is shown in his In-Training form, DemiVeemon, and remains so for the rest of the scene. This is made worse in the English dub as he is shown first as Veemon, then as DemiVeemon, then as Veemon again.
• In the English version, at the end, Willis phones his mother to inform her that he is "back on the island [of Manhattan]". However, the scene is set in the countryside with mountains in the background.

Dubbing changes

• This movie is presented in the English dub as the third and final part of Digimon: The Movie.
• This movie was heavily edited for the English Dub, to make it fit in with the last two Digimon movies, which were all shown as one movie with one main story. As a result, it was shortened by about 30 minutes.
• The original film spoke of an unknown virus which took over Kokomon, whilst the English Dub makes it out to be the same virus from the last film, Our War Game!, which Willis was said to have created (again, he had nothing to do with it originally).
• In the Japanese version, Willis lives in Summer Memory, in the English dub, the town he lives is never specified other than being in Colorado.
• The main footage cut out of the English film is of the older DigiDestined kids being kidnapped and de-aged by Kokomon. This was actually an important part to the plot and one of the driving forces behind the kids needing to defeat Kokomon. Parts of this footage are used in the English dub merely to show what the older kids are doing in the present day.
• The laptop that T.K. and Kari hold in their possession belongs to Mimi, who is taken by Kokomon right before their eyes. In the English movie, Mimi never appears and her laptop is shown as if to belong to one of the other kids.
• When T.K. and Kari are on the train, a moment is cut out of the English dub when the other people in the carriage are made to disappear by Endigomon, explaining why no one else is on the train after it stops.
• Footage of Terriermon and Veemon flying through the air and crashing into a sign was moved in the English dub to make it look like part of a fight with Endigomon. Originally, the footage was shown after the fight.
• After Davis and Willis catch up with the rest of the group and after their conversation on the bridge, footage is removed from the English dub showing the whole group hitchhiking on the back of another truck.
• Original footage from the final battle with Endigomon, before he digivolves, is removed from the English dub, though some of the footage is used lightheartedly at the end of the movie to show Endigomon as if he were dancing.
• The final battle with Kerpymon originally features many more violent scenes.
• When Davis breaks down in tears, the English dub shortens the moment and makes it out to be a joke. Though, originally, Davis is genuinely crying, over the idea of having to fight his own partner Digimon, as Willis explains he must do. But in both the original and dubbed versions, Willis jokes about how fast Davis gets over being sad.
• Willis' mom is also mentioned a lot more in the original. She was apparently the one who found the Digi-Egg Willis' twin Digimon hatched out of, while browsing on the internet.
• In the original version of the movie, after Willis finds the Digi-Egg, the only sign that it hatched is a still from the ending which depicts Willis, Terriermon, and Lopmon. The dub version instead has the Digi-Egg hatching to Endigomon, with the only references to Lopmon instead being in the movie poster and the promotional cards released with the movie.

Digimon references

• In the English dub, Endigomon's "Club Arm" attack is named "Cable Crusher", to match Diaboromon's technique.

Real-world references

• Willis and Terriermon walk past a sign displaying what appears to be the logo for the oil company Shell.
• T.K. and Kari travel on a train featuring the old logo for Amtrak, a well-known rail service provider across the United States.
• While Davis is complaining about Yolei's uncles, he runs in front of a billboard for the Mazda MPV.
• The Pizza Man's truck is a Mazda B-Series Truck.

Miscellaneous trivia

• Willis, being American, can be heard speaking English in the original Japanese movie. Though, he speaks fluent Japanese when talking to the other kids (which he says he learnt from his girlfriend), and to Terriermon, who doesn't seem to speak English despite having lived in the United States with Willis for a few years. The English dub gives no mention of any language barrier.
• This film was the longest of the Digimon movies created by Toei Animation in Japan. The original running time was about 70 mins (the rest of the movies were between 20-50 mins).
• In Japan, the film was actually split into two parts. Digimon Hurricane Landing!! refers to the first part, and Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals refers to the second part.
• Digimon: The Movie, which featured this movie as part of it, was released in North America one day before the episode Storm Of Friendship was due to air. In Japan, this movie featured (by itself) before the episode Big Trouble in Little Edo, which happens to be when the group change their normal clothes to those worn in this movie.
• Summer Memory is the only fictional Real World location introduced in the Digimon anime.

Now the Synopsis of the Movie

The story involves the next generation of DigiDestined children after they travel from Japan to the U.S.A. and meet up with Willis, helping him to stop the menace of an enigmatic threat. As a kid, Willis was given two twin Digimon, a Gummymon and a Kokomon. But one day Kokomon mysteriously disappeared without a trace, returning later as the ruthless Endigomon (it is later revealed that he was kidnapped and corrupted by a rogue viral program). T.K. and Kari are the first ones to encounter Endigomon in New York City while they are visiting Mimi; he kidnaps Mimi (she disappears before T.K. and Kari's eyes along with the rest of the older DigiDestined and all were placed in another dimension where they were being de-aged by Endigomon). Willis eventually explains his connection to Endigomon and that Endigomon wants to see Willis again, which was why the Digimon kidnapped the older DigiDestined—because they, like him, have Digivices.
But when Willis refused to go with Endigomon after it swiped Terriermon away, the monster evolved to Antylamon, and then Kerpymon, de-aging Willis and the younger DigiDestined as well. Willis figured out that his Digimon's urge for things to go back to the way there were literally meant to make Willis a kid again. In this battle, Kari and T.K. gave Willis and Davis the Golden Digi-Eggs, transforming Veemon into Magnamon and Terriermon into Rapidmon. After the battle was over, Kerpymon was defeated and the older DigiDestined reappeared at the points were they had disappeared from. In the end, Willis discovered that his Digimon is still alive after the fight, ready to be reborn from a Digi-Egg.

Review

Ok So Movie 1 of Adventure 02 was yet Again to me felt liek a Solid Story and has a much more Darker Feel To the Story much more Darker then what i got from the cut verstion with in the Digimon The Movie and near the end of the film it had a very emotional feeling to it. also i did like the Japanese VA for Wallace (Willis in the Dub ) she or he Spoke really good English until she say Wallace but it Fell right for the Character Being American Citizen. all in all i can only Say that this Film is a Must Watch as a Hole Movie and not A Section it Has a Really Good Darker Story Line and Feels Right Still curious where the Film Fits place though.
