My Zero two-pack will hopefully be here tomorrow! |
Certainly looks different, I guess the appearance of the box of Mebius will be similar to the box of Leo :thumb:

As for me, my Zero two-pack finally arrived! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps9jdovkpz.jpg Either I didn't read in depth as to what this set would contain or I just forgot, so I was pleasantly blown away by how much stuff is included here. Even one figure with half the accessories would blow away some of the other recent TWE Ultra-Acts (especially Jonias and Ultra Mother). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps6xlrwgof.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pspanoyvuj.jpg Between the two, Strong Corona is the more aesthetically appealing of the two for me. While Luna Miracle is basically "Bluer Zero," Strong Corona, with the gold striping on top of the red/silver body and blue bits in his collar is quite attractive. One minor thing to note - my Luna Miracle came with the head loose on its ball joint (it just wasn't popped into the joint all the way, giving it a weird giraffe neck out of the box, but I just popped it all the way back in and its fine now). Neither head, when fully popped into its joint, has much posability though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psncfo1kge.jpg The small bit on top of the staffs is removable and slots in easily. Only one extra bracelet is included rather than two. No red timers are included for either version (if that was expected, I haven't watched much Zero stuff so I just assume timers come with most Ultras). The Tamashii stage connector pieces are also plain gray, rather than colored to match each Zero's base body color. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psm40mtmsc.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps39ouijqy.jpg Each Zero comes with a special set of gripping hands (left AND right, thankfully) that allow the shield to slot in easily. Despite its size, neither Zero's arms sag when holding it. The staff slides into the "normal" gripping hands, but it's a pretty tight fit - if I change how I display them frequently and constantly swap the staff from one hand to another, I will worry about some of the red paint at the base rubbing off. Because it's such a tight fit at the base, be careful when trying to place it into a hand because given how long it is, you can definitely snap it. I really wish it was the staff was removable from the top piece since the shaft is thinner than the base and therefore would be much easier to slide into the hand from the top instead of from the bottom. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps5gkt21ab.jpg The flame effect is nice and pops in easily, despite it appearing like it's not easy to get into the wrist joint. Luna's effect part is literally a clear circle with some blue bits, but the blue is so faint it's hard to notice, especially in photographs. I wish they'd used a colored clear/opaque plastic instead, so it's easier to tell in photos. It's also a bit flimsy, so I'll worry a bit if Luna ever takes a dive from a high shelf. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pshrvytuv1.jpg Minor complaints aside, I LOVE this set. I honestly wasn't super-enthused for it ahead of time because I'd been under the impression it would be a bit underwhelming in the accessory department like other TWE Ultras, but boy am I glad to be wrong there. So much bang for your buck in this set, and so much more fulfilling than some of the other Ultra-Acts I've picked up in the past year. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pseomzakeb.jpg |
Thanks for the review! Nice set!

Hot damn! I am seriously upset I passed on the set now :(

Lbsammills51: awesome review & additions man, if I can probably buy later

Hi, I just started collecting the Ultra Act Series line and glad to know there are threads for it. Anyways recently a friend of my sold me his Ultra Act Tiga Ver1.0 and i noticed that it is missing the Handshake piece. Just wondering if there is any other way of getting that piece part. Thanks in advance.
|
You'll have to buy another Tiga Multi Type. The odds of finding someone selling just the handshake part is virtually nil, a handshake part has yet to be confirmed for the renewal Tiga, and Bandai can't help you out with a part that old that you got secondhand.
Oh, or get your friend to give it to you if he didn't lose it/insist on keeping it for himself. |
I order Taro from Amazon. I plan to get Ginga and the original Ultraman next. Taro was pretty cheap being at $27 on Amazon and I used my prime account to order him with free shipping.
|
Oh Okay.. I really hope Bandai will start selling hand pieces, battle effect parts and color timers separately in the near future. As of now, i guess i got no choice but to get a another Ultra Act tiga ver 1.0

Ultraman Taro and the Ultra Bucket Challenge!
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...psrb5fz6tg.jpg Zoffy takes the Ultra Bucket Challenge! http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...psjanu3kxx.jpg |
man.. just when i am about to finish my Ultra Brothers collection, i checked zoffy's price... BANG $150-180?? WHY?? Is he a tamashi exclusive or something? And with $180, should i just go for Dark Zagi & Noa instead? Suggestions?

Dark Zagi and Noa are web exclusives, however, so they won't be rereleased and Bluefin can't bring them over, so you're probably better off going that route. |

I got Ultraman Taro from Amazon today and I do wish he could have been better to be honest :| . His legs feel so tight and his arm articulation feels so stiff. Even without the arm piece off, his arms still feel stiff when trying to do some poses. It's a great looking figure, I think he could have been handle better.
|
I have the oddest desire to own Belial and Zero as of late...
|
After playing with Taro a bit more, I think I like him better but his arms and legs still feel stiff. Not to mention I notice his timer can pop off pretty easy too when you move him around a bit.
I plan to get the original Ultraman or Ginga next. I do hope Seven Renewal, Zoffy and Ace get reissue. My line up of Showa Ultra that have a retail release will be complete. |

Question of day
What are the chances of Ultra Act Ultraman Tiga (Glitter Form) being release? Do you think it be a regular release? Or a Tamashii Web Exclusive? |
I think it's very likely to see something like that in the coming years, with the body version 2.0 ready, it should be easy to create the other versions of Tiga they exhibited before:

Ahh. cause i am planning to just use gold paint and paint my tiga figure into all gold a sorta like a custom glitter tiga. And also planing to custom paint tiga blast and tiga tornado. |
As I wait for Astra to clear customs (hopefully tonight?), here are some Tiga pics.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps4adwfadm.jpg Don't remember that disclaimer before. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psganvjopv.jpg He comes with a little pamphlet going over the DVD releases for the various Ultra series. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psntphiumj.jpg Accessory-wise, not as much as others (mostly in the hands department). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps6rwx4rwd.jpg Purple is a nice break from the usual Ultra coloring. Upper arm/shoulder swivel was really tight at first. His left hands are a bit harder to pop onto his left wrist joint. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psi5rlhan7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pssjaybbfh.jpg The angle to pop the wrist joint in for the specium ray was a little awkward for me, but it pops in fine once you get the right angle. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pspbtktzoe.jpg Zepellion Ray plugs into his chest comfortably. I usually don't mess with the timers much because of the potential for vacuum bait, so when I removed his standard timer to plug this in...of course I drop the timer and it shoots off elsewhere. I found it, thankfully. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psi11r8muz.jpg Decent figure, but I wish they'd given him more hands. |
Nice review! Please post Astra pics when you get him.

JoeJai: that sounds excellent
Something that I like of the figure presented was transparency and pearly appearance: Lbsammills51: as always an objective and detailed review, friend. Another image of Ultraman Mebius: New items added: |
