I liked Terror.
It wasn't the greatest design, but it was creative.

I feel like Terror would make a better General than big-bad. Head aside, it's just really plain in the chest area.

If they would have put the blue part on the chest then I think it would have been balanced fairly well.

I liked the ridiculously large head crest. It gives him a distinctive shape and style.
Yeah, his chest was rather bland, but his design drew the eye to the crest for a reason :lol

Man you people have been talking W for like two straight pages...It's really making me wanna watch W. And I'm already in the middle of watching Hibiki and Gokaiger...eh, one more might not not hurt...Maybe.

I felt Terror's design was fantastic and he felt like a head villain. Not every head villain needs to be a huge ass monster. In fact, he felt very Mayan to me, which is what this show seemed to be going for a bit of.

A head villain with a big head, heheh.

Plus there's the fact that he's the first villain in a while that got me thinking about philosophical stuff... just saying.

Bah, haters gonna hate. I loved pretty much everything about Terror, from design to powers, plus I dug his character. One of my favorite major villains.

And yeah, all the recent W talk has me wanting to rewatch it too hahaha. I mean I'm already watching Gaim as it airs, Kabuto, Dragon Knight, and rewatching Ryuki and Fourze, may as well throw W back into the mix (maybe after I finish rewatching Ryuki). I just need to remind myself to stop after the second to last episode and leave it there.

End with the emotional punch? I couldn't. I bawled enough watching all 49, leaving it at 48 would destroy me emotionally.

It's a helluva lot better than pulling the same kinda bullcrap most seasons seem to do at the end, kill off a major character only to cheapen the emotional impact and slap us all in the face by bringing them back at the end. Too many seasons have done this crap and it pisses me off. They never should have brought Phillip back, his death was so perfectly done. The only thing worse than that was the crap that Ryuki pulled in its last 10 minutes, that was another perfect ending wasted.

Or they could've brought Phillip back in a movie, maybe?

That..I'd at least be a bit more forgiving of, yeah.

It isn't just the huge head, it's the utter plainness of the rest of the design with it. He barely looks like a monster and more like a person in bad cosplay. But then I don't really care for any of the Sonozaki designs really, I think Magma has been the only Dopant so far I've visually appreciated.

Nasca's cool. Claydoll...bleh. Taboo's ok.

I don't even like Nazca, given how he is a character I don't think he suits such a garish, goofy design. Claydoll is awful and Taboo is meant to strike fear in your heart every time she appears, despite looking like a sleeping bag with a bit of turf on her head.

Claydoll is beautiful. I love the design of her from head to to, and Extreme ClayDoll was even better. Taboo always creeped me out a little, to be honest. But I still also really enjoyed that design. Weather is by far the best of this series. And Terror comes in a very close second. With Nasca being alright. Just alright.

... Utopia never gets any love. :(

Utopia didn't make a real impact on me visually, story-wise he did. But he just wasn't around that long.

Well I am only like nine episodes in so far. I haven't gotten to Utopia, Weather or whatever Extreme Dopants are.

Eh, different strokes for different folks. I like Nasca's design.

Agito 39-Well I first have to say that Masumi is a great supporting character reminds me of Mihara done much better from Faiz. Sacrificing his own better to help save Ryou is great growth for his character. Hikawa is a bit blind that he couldn't put pieces together about Agito's identity but I think he just wasn't thinking that clearly and was overexcited about knowing who it is. Kino wanting to be the only Agito makes me like him less and especially after what he said to Masumi. Exceed Gills looks sweet and I love his transformation sequence too. I also liked how Ozawa and Hojo both said the same thing to Hikawa. Can't wait to see Exceed Gills kick ass.

Agito 40-Exceed Gills is a total badass, and glad he was able to kick the crap out of Another Agito. I love how Ryou swam to save Kino after he knocked him into the water. This episode was hilarious with Shouichi getting called the perfect Bride from Uncle and Hikawa's reactions to Shouichi being Agito. I loved how they took out the Unknown with the Hoverboard and G3-X's machine gun together, great teamwork. Looks like we're getting more into the Mystery guy and the White Clothed Child too. Intriguing about the letter to Shouichi as well that Hojo found. Can't wait to learn more.

I actually like Terror's design. It's understated nature hides just how dangerous it can be.

Yeah, no kidding guys. I outright avoided mentioning Utopia, one of my favourite villain designs ever, to avoid spoilers. :lol

Terror would be ten times better if you shrank the headdress and moved/copied a lot of it's detail down onto the chest, and moved the cape to the back shoulders instead of the head.

There are some cool Dopant designs, but when I think about shows with great monster designs, W rarely gets much of a thought.

Taboo is amazing in design, especially her face and shoulders. She looks like something out of a Shin Megami game.

W episode 11.

I know Sho was dealing with criminals, but after everything that happened last episode, Sho's complete lack of heroics in this episode and the lack of impact of the people he let die, was as disturbing as it was disappointing.

I grew up to believe that a hero is the one who DOESN'T take the law into his own hands, as easy as that might be, that revenge makes you just as bad as the villains you are taking your vengeance out on. They don't get to decide what is right or wrong, they just uphold the law.

And yet our vigilante Dopant is never really condemned and as much as Sho rants at Kouhei or Phillip, he's put in a quarter of the effort to save this episodes victims as he has done in previous episodes. Poor form Sho.

And oh great, Akiko is back to being an infuriating waste of space.

Luckily then, the action was solid. Although yeah it was just a truck, the action in this episode felt really americanised which made it feel really fresh. About the only downside was the Nazca fight, he sucks.

W episode 12. Although the opening half of this arc kinda sucked, I actually think this was W's best episode so far.

Although I'm really not that impressed with the Dopants visually, I must say I really do appreciate them as a concept. And I like how the show explores and bounces ideas off them, making them more than just mindless monsters for the Rider to kick over. Especially when we learn the true purpose of the Virus memory, this is probably the first truly deadly memory. Plus the little horror touches for Virus this episode were wonderful.

I dunno whether to feel sorry for Nazca, or not, I mean on the one hand he is motivated by utterly selfish goals, but on the other hand he takes a moral, emotional and physical beating to get there, so it isn't like he isn't suffering. And it's like he's been conditioned to suffer with the way he just laps it up.

Although I don't understand the Gia Library at all, the scene where Phillip faces down the victims conciousness in there was really awesome. Love how her conciousness is frozen at the moment of the hit and run impact.

So is Heat Trigger W's strongest form (at this stage)? It was the one he defaulted to in his first fight with Nazca where he 'went wild' - what was the point of that again?

And now when they know they need to finish it with Virus, they jump straight into that and unleash the Maximum Drive. By the way, that has to be one of the coolest finishers he has, since it's literally a flamethrower.

HeatMetal is physically strongest of all his combos. HeatTrigger is probably up there since, well, it's a flame thrower so physically weaker Dopants like Virus don't stand a chance, but it's also lacking in the range departement.

Also, the Gaia Library is literally the Earth's library, and Philip can uniquely access it in his own conciousness. It's all the recorded information on the planet, or most of it, and he can sift through it like a search engine. He often goes through it for fun, latching onto things and learning everything he can about them before moving on to the next thing.

Metal and Luna are two Memories I'm really growing to love, due to their versatility. Luna is mainly a defensive Memory, but when combo'd with Sho's more offensive memories, it becomes a deadly weapon. Metal is a very similar thing, although Sho is the 'attacking' side, Metal could just as easily be Phillip's with its defensive properties being almost as strong as its offensive capabilities.

This show is full of cool stuff.

Oh trust me, it gets better.

W 13. Feels like this show is really hitting its stride.

So what was that Skull Man stuff about at the beginning? It all happened so fast, and was over in a flash, I barely had time to register it.

When Taboo isn't awkwardly hanging in the air looking like a sleeping bag, you can really appreciate the sheer amount of detail in the suit. I actually kinda love it, it's definitely the best out of the Sonozaki's. Now it's a toss up between Terror and Clay Doll for worst. I just wanna know how such a creepy looking dude has two such gorgeous daughters.

The Violence Dopant was pretty sweet as well, easily the best Dopant design other than Taboo so far and probably some of the most visually impressive fights. It's amazing how much more interesting the of the week Dopants are compared to the Sonozaki's themselves.

Oh hey look it's Shion Nakamaru.

Agito 41-More good stuff with Ryou, Shouichi, and Hikawa all together. It was intriguing to see Hikawa with Ryou and Shouichi with Kino. The 4 of them all have very interesting personalities. Intrigued to see Kino knows Shouichi and can't wait to see how much of a relationship they had. Mana is learning more about going on with the Black Dressed kid and the White Dressed kid. The Unknown from the boat is back and it's awesome to see the 4 Riders together. I hope Kino learns to move on from his past and join the others. I am loving Agito lots.

Agito 42-Finally answers! Great to finally know what happened on the Akatsuki-Gou and the back story of Shouichi's powers. Great to know what the Man in Black's goal is too and what the Unknown's are after. Mana and Hojo learning more about the back story really helps this come together. I hope the 4 Riders can take down this Unknown, it must be really powerful if it hurt Exceed Gills easily. Can't wait for more.
