Wasn’t that long ago when a friend told me SSJ4-Broly was a thing now. As she put it, I looked at her like she just told me Hitler was alive and played poker with Elvis and Alf in my basement.

Turns out she was right though.

And I know the whole “I don't buy movie-characters” is a rule which the Doctor set for himself, we discussed this with Movie Riders already. But can you really buy any figure of a Dragonball character based on “character development”? You would own like three figures. Maybe that's just me, but I like DB-characters for the design and their ability to kick some serious ass.

And if I had already fallen down the rabbit hole that is DB-FiguArts, I would've bought Broly without hesitance. Because he looks awesome and kicks ass.

Honestly, my no movie rule is not really a rule, but something I'm trying to do to keep myself in denial to prevent myself from spending more money on figures I don't have money or room for. I will admit, the Broly Figuart is kind of cool because of his size. In fact, I do fear that if I see him at B&N I will impulse buy him even though I know I shouldn't.

I tend to buy characters I like. If they make any other DBZ movie characters into Figuarts then I would buy Coola's 5th form, Gogeta and Janemba. I would like to see Hirudegarn be made into a figuart or monsterart but that would likely never happen.

I remember the day when I was told Broly had gotten a LSSJ4 form. I told the friend who told me about it to stop being stupid.

I like Broly. He was the first character that Goku straight lost to since, like, Piccolo or something. He wasn't tricked, like against Roshi. He wasn't having a heart attack, like against the androids. It felt like a character finally managed to show that Goku wasn't a walking (Flying) death machine.

Hysterically, Broly hits all of my character no-nos (I hate the hyper muscled look; he's so one note that in his sequel, he literally only says, like, 5 words max; he's described as having all the power of an Ultra SSJ, but without any drawbacks, etc etc), but for some reason, I like him. I'd totally impulse buy his SHF if I wasn't broke.

His SHF is one of my favorite toys of 2014, definitely my favorite non-toku figure of the year. It's just a ridiuclously muscle-y insanely articulated beast.

I've always loved Broly because the Legendary Super Saiyan aspect worked for me. I know he isn't THE LSS but rather has attained the level of a LSS, but I always liked that particular sense of brutality and berserk anger the power gave him. Of all the movei villains besides Cooler, Broly is probably my most memorable and favorite. The others feel entirely one-note to me.

I like him too, and would totally buy him if I could afford it. Also I just realized that I never really watched the movie (had this weird book that was basically a comic made with screenshots from the movie) and that the movie is almost as old as I am. Damn.

Oh well, maybe the popularity this figure seems to have will give him a reissue someday when I have some more money and space for Dragonball figures.

I would be totally down for that, I love Cooler's 5th form!

The moment I saw his Figuart, it was something that I wanted, regardless of whether the muscles restricted articulation (To know that it's still fairly articulated is just icing on the cake).

As a character, Broly is always someone that, on paper, I should have no reason to like. From physical appearance to his entire goal, to admit I like him would make me seem like a hypocrite.

For me, he even left more of an impact than Cooler, because aside from his advanced form, I remember more about DBZA's Cooler than the actual Cooler.

Well Cooler's just another Freezer, there's really not much to set them apart other than Cooler's stronger and has a 5th form. Oh, and he's purple.

By the way, I'm surprised that there are no FiguArts for the new movies yet. I would totally buy a SHF of Beerus and God Goku and fall in this rabbit hole.

Rest assured God Goku will happen at some point in the near future. It's just far far too easy of a repaint to not happen.
